Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.57/day in the week to Aug 14 → 4.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Yakuza Kiwami 3 is a game I really tried to go in with an open mind even with the questionable recasting of Rikiya and Nakahara, and the awful recasting of Hamazaki. I really enjoyed the main story of Yakuza 3 and how it revolves around the orphanage, the kids Kiryu takes care of, and the Okinawan Ryudo family being involved in the lives of Kiryu and the kids, which pains me to say that I don’t believe Kiwami 3 is able to be a suitable replacement of the original game as too much story-related elements have changed that make it hard for me to stomach. For the positives, the game runs on the Dragon Engine, and just having a near-seamless world makes general exploration an improvement as fights with enemy NPCs and going into various shops and restaurants don’t need loading screens. Furthermore, the combat I personally find to be a lot less annoying in the remake and the new Ryukyu style is fun, though admittedly I have never delved too deeply in the combat of the Yakuza games and have been able to enjoy the combat of games that have their combat criticized, such as Yakuza 6. On a separate note, the game made sure that there was a particular scene with Rikiya that was easily missed in the original game mandatory with the remake, and I personally appreciated that it was something that the player could no longer miss out on. For the negatives, there are several. For one, this game shares a lot of DNA with Infinite Wealth and 8 Gaiden. At first, this really doesn’t sound like a bad thing since I previously mentioned the positives of the Dragon Engine, but Kiwami 3 also takes other aspects from those games like the bounty system, a significantly worse version of the Aloha Links with LaLaLa Loveland, and a new major side story with the Haisai Girls that can stop you from progressing in the story at one point. In Infinite Wealth and Pirate Yakuza these are not criticisms as they felt like they were more naturally incorporated, but in Kiwami 3 they are tacked on additions to an already existing game. Maybe if the Haisai Girls side story was good I wouldn’t feel as annoyed, but it isn’t good. It’s annoying. One of my biggest gripes with the remake is the sidelining of the Morning Glory Kids, Rikiya, and Mikio. A point of criticism with the original game I personally never agreed with was the idea that Kiryu’s kids were annoying. They are a major part of the story of Yakuza 3 and are a driving force in future entries even if they aren’t as prominent afterwards, so having major scenes from the original game taken out and either removed entirely or put into the optional bonding scenes in the remake I found to be the wrong choice. Especially since some of these scenes involved Rikiya and Mikio, such as Rikiya's involvement in Taichi and Mitsuo's stories or Mikio's involvement in Izumi's story. As a result, in Kiwami 3 Rikiya and Mikio feel more disconnected from the Morning Glory kids. So rather than the remake enhancing Morning Glory and allowing us to feel more connected with the orphanage and the kids, it turns them into optional content that comes at the cost of the main story. Speaking of Rikiya though, I do want to talk about his recasting in particular. Sho Kasamatsu did a good job, but I believe Tatsuya Fujiwara’s performance is better, and I don’t think the recasting was worth it. If anything, it feels like Sho Kasamatsu was wasted on the role since he is replacing the likeness and voice of an existing character and will probably be chained to Rikiya moving forward, unable to play an original character in the series that will share both his likeness and voice. I don’t feel strongly about Nakahara’s recasting and I can honestly take it or leave it, but I feel more strongly that Rikiya’s recasting was a mistake that did a disservice to the character, Tatsuya Fujiwara, and Sho Kasamatsu. (EDIT: Stranger Than Heaven shows that RGG is willing to bring people in and use their voice AND likeness again such as how Yasukaze Motomiya shares his voice and likeness with both Shishido from 7 Gaiden and Tetsuya Hama from Stranger Than Heaven. I hope Sho Kasamatsu is given a similar opportunity in a future game in the RGG universe) WARNING: SPOILERS FOR KIWAMI 3 AND GAMES THAT COME AFTER DON’T LOOK IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED For the ending of Kiwami 3
I am not against Mine being alive though I think a major reason as to why is we’ve known of Andre Richardson’s survival for years ever since we got a glimpse of him in the lead up to Infinite Wealth’s release so it feels like RGG has been preparing us for Mine's survival for a while, but I honestly think Mine is the last character they can get away with this. They’ve already resurrected characters like Kashiwagi, Lau Ka Long, Andre Richardson, and now Mine. Moving forward they need to keep characters dead. I’d be really annoyed if we see the likes of Ryuji or Rikiya reappearing at some point. As much as I like those characters, I would prefer that RGG learn to stick by the events of the story and not resurrect more characters. If they keep doing so, any character whose death isn’t explicitly shown will not be taken seriously anymore. Heck, I imagine that for some it’s already come to that point. At the very least though, it’d be nice to not see Hamazaki ever again, or to have him have plastic surgery similar to how in 7 Gaiden Hanawa did when he talked about having been altered after joining the Daidoji faction. I don’t think that having Teruyuki Kagawa around is worth all of the bad press that it brings to the series. Regardless of where you stand on this, it doesn’t change the fact that many people didn’t even want to give this game a chance because of his involvement and any potential game moving forward that has him will be met with similar disdain from the moment people see his face and hear his voice.
Lastly, I want to briefly talk about Dark Ties. I believe it’s a nice addition and I enjoyed my time with it, but I would not buy Kiwami 3 to play Dark Ties. It’s a small spin-off that really doesn’t take much time to complete, and I think that watching a playthrough of Dark Ties may suffice rather than to play it yourself. Overall, I believe Yakuza Kiwami 3 is a remake that does more harm than good to the story of the original game. Rather than having a remake that enhances the story and themes of Yakuza 3, Kiwami 3 actively tries to move away from the things that made Yakuza 3’s story special while also polluting the game with a bunch of unnecessary filler content. Too much has been changed and it came at the cost of Kiryu’s story in Okinawa at the orphanage with the kids and the Ryudo family members that stood beside him and his family. While there are some improvements that I appreciated, and I genuinely enjoyed the Dark Ties story, I believe that, between Yakuza 3 and Kiwami 3, Kiwami 3 is the worse way to experience this story. Unfortunately, Yakuza 3 is stuck behind the Yakuza complete bundle but even so I would recommend you do what you can to play Yakuza 3 instead of Kiwami 3. Kiwami 3 is just not it.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 6: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I think it's a good game. If you ignore the fact that Hamazaki's face model and Rikiya got changed too then yeah lol... 3 hot and handsome men are in it too! (Majima, Mine and Kiryu lol) This game had a lot of action in it and good story. Most sub storys from the original Yakuza 3 got deleted too but i don't care about the sub storys really anyway... and i don't care about caberet clubs either lol... The Girl gang biker gang wasn't that interesting but i liked the missions because you get to go on a motorbike and run people over lol... Anyway i enjoyed this game. I enjoyed the original Yakuza 3 too but it's okay if you don't like this game either too. I liked it and people say that Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii sucked but that's a great game too so there! I like both and i respect opinions haha.
Dark Ties

Kiryu finds a family worth protecting and tries to leave the yakuza behind. Mine longs for something like a family and ends up finding his way into the yakuza. Putting their stories side by side makes for a surprisingly cruel contrast.
Yakuza 0 practically saved my life when I was in a very dark place. Ever since then, I watched Kiryu grow into the father that he became on Yakuza 3. And while I did want an eventual Kiwami 3 remake to happen, it wasn't because the original was bad it was because it aged the most poorly- especially if you play the available games chronologically, the quality is jarring. Last year, this got revealed and not only that but a Mine origin story. I was excited, but then I saw the recasting of key characters. Rikiya's and Nakahara's recast, despite them not having the sauce, didn't bother me since the latter is in his golden years. Hamazaki's was a massive problem,
especially if you know how his character arc ended in Yakuza 4.
Fast forward to now, there is so many little things I do not like it became impossible to ignore; -I did not like how Kiryu's combat felt. Dragon of Dojima felt floaty(?) and Okinawan style's animation transitions bothered me to the point I barely used it unless I am forced to. -There were so many unecessary cuts to the plot such as the Taichi illness subplot, Shiro's bully problem and Haruka's participation in the credit card scam. -While I am happy that Okinawa is now rendered in the Dragon engine, RGG hasn't fixed the lighting since Pirate Yakuza. And that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ green filter is back from Kiwami 2 and it brought his friend, the blue filter. -The Haisai Girls side-story was ok, but it still feels like RGG couldn't get mosh-pits down. -Mine's combat felt... unofficial. Like it was a fan made mod and there is very few heat actions to do with him. -Dark Ties was too short and Mine's loyalty to Daigo didn't feel genuine. But I don't mind the ending for it. -The same cannot be said for the main game's ending.
The change didn't need to be drastic, it could have ended with Mine (under a new alias) visiting Hamazaki in prison and orders him to free Saejima from his prison in Yakuza 4. Instead, we got this.
Here's what I did like; -I liked the Orphanage side-story the most as it helped develop the relationships with his children individually. -The outfit customisation is back. While it is virtually the same as Pirate Yakuza's and there are some clothing options missing (i.e. Yakuza 5 Kiryu's jacket and Yakuza 6 demo's blue jacket), it is still a welcome addition. -Bowling is back in the Dragon Engine since it was absent from Yakuza 6 onward. -While the amount of sub-stories has greatly decreased, what is available are serviceable at best. -I know people have their gripes with the OST- especially the remixes, I didn't mind them as much. Do I recommend this? No. Not at full price. I'd stick with the original game, despite it being delisted to buy on it's own.
It's a good game, but a disrespectful remake. The removal of several scenes from the story is just unnecessary. They thought it was cool to remove the scenes with the kids just because they added the Orphanage side story, why not just keep them in, they served the story well. The retcons are abysmal, not only they made it so it ♥♥♥♥♥ up a major character arc for Hamazaki in Yakuza 4, the death retcons are just nonsensical. I know this is the Yakuza franchise but my suspension of disbelief can only go so far. How would you have me believe a person can survive a 25 floor free-fall by hitting a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bush? A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BUSH. Not to mention it ruins Mine's whole character arc as well, amazing. The retcons have been a problem ever since we saw HIM in Yakuza 7 and here it has finally culminated into something truly unacceptable. Oh and they didn't even TRY to explain Lau Ka Long's retcon, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ just gets shot in the head and appears in Yakuza 7, cool. Who writes this ♥♥♥♥ man? Have some damn respect for the narrative.
As someone who loves the Yakuza series, this was honestly a huge disappointment. In almost every way, this game feels like a downgrade compared to the others, with the only real improvements being the gameplay and graphics—which is expected given how old the original game is. One thing that really bothered me was the reduced amount of side content. On a more personal note, I also hated that they removed the old man who taught you new abilities and replaced him with a much less interesting character. Neither he nor his daughter managed to leave any impression on me. What disappointed me even more was how much of the original game’s core content was removed. This doesn’t feel like a faithful remake that truly respects the original vision. As for the Dark Sides expansion, it was bloated, unnecessary, and simply not fun. It only lasts around three hours, and I’d honestly say Kaito Files from Judgment is 10 times better. I love the Yakuza series, but I don’t think this game is worth its full price. I’d only recommend buying it if it’s on sale for $20 or less.
