Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.14/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

In Japan they delist their games then release them with an increased size a much more demanding specs just to ♥♥♥♥ with you. How can I get 60 fps in infinite wealth but barely 30 in this???
I'll try to talk without spoilers as much as possible. I went into the game with low expectations, and it successfully managed to meet those low expectations. The game as a whole wasn't enjoyable except for certain moments during the main story and main missions. As for the side content? I played a few of them, and none of them hooked me enough to play more. And unfortunately, the main missions are heavily dominated by annoying fetch quests (go here, come back, then go there again), and perhaps it dragged on longer than it deserved. As for the story itself? It tries to do something grand, but unfortunately, it's just a bunch of cheap plot twists towards the end of the game with no proper build-up for most, if not all, of them. The new characters? Most of them are average and forgettable. Sadly, the majority were clear victims of poor and random writing, with the exception of the legend, Goda 🐐🐐🐐. Ryuji Goda: I loved how he is Kiryu's rival, since each is the dragon of his respective city, and Ryuji isn't having any of it, saying a dragon isn't confined to a city and two dragons can't exist at the same time. It's an awesome rivalry between the two, and I loved his story, his character, and everything revolving around him. Kaoru Sayama: (who was the Yakuza Huntress) She started off as a strong character with an imposing presence, and I felt she was going to deliver something big. But the idiot writer? Destroyed all of that and turned her arc into a rushed, forced romance, stripping away everything that gave her that initial presence. Daigo Dojima: He had potential as someone running from his legacy, but the clueless writer didn't give him enough build-up for you to grasp the development he went through 😅. Detective Kawara: True, he has a great and dramatic backstory, but you feel like the story flew off the rails with all the cheap twists happening. Takashima: He was just a plot device used to pull off those cheap twists. All this clownery just proves more and more how Ryuji Goda is the GOAT in this entry 🐐, he carried this game on his back. Gameplay: A total snooze fest, from the level design to the bosses, to the miserable combat. But to be fair? The gameplay here has one positive: the weapons. The weapons tried to elevate the gameplay (since the combat is miserable) and make it more fun than it actually is. However, the result is as I said: miserable gameplay with physics that drive you crazy, making Kiryu look like a ragdoll. The OST: The songs were good, and a few of them were mind-blowing 🤯. Direction/Cinematography: It was one of the best aspects of the game, and I see it terrifyingly surpassing the first one. If this direction had been applied to Kiwami 1, it would have made it even more beautiful. But it was done dirty by being paired with the story and characters of this entry, not to mention that crappy filter that annoyed me throughout the game. Mini-games: Most of them here were forgettable except for one that was phenomenal: the Cabaret Club mini-game. This was historic and one of the reasons I even finished the game. There are a lot of weird things that happened in the game (and not the kind of weirdness you expect from Yakuza) that made me wonder about the idiot who wrote this stuff. Overall, it was a frustrating experience and a downgrade from Kiwami 1. 6/10

9/10; Huge step up from Kiwami 1 in my opinion. The gameplay was great and the story was as well, but Yakuza 0 still squeaks out the win in terms of that. At first, I was skeptical about the gameplay (it felt weird at first coming from Yakuza 0 and Kiwami 1) but as I continued to play, it grew on me and I actually somewhat prefer it. Overall, awesome game and you should definitely check it out if you have played the previous games.
I really didn't think I would be giving this game a negative review, and I didn't want to. Unfortunately just assessing the quality, this game sucked. The content in it is miserable. I don't know where to start, I guess with the minigames. The minigames are a massive downgrade from Kiwami 1 and 0. The engine upgraded version of karaoke is an extreme eyesore, less accurate than the previous versions, and legitimately is one of the only minigames I've ever played that resulted in an actual headache. New batting is pretty bad, it's not enjoyable or challenging. The bouncer missions are repetitive as all hell and there's never any real challenge to them until the very, very end. The arcade games are pretty bad, too, but less worth mentioning. Probably the only one that I enjoyed was golf, which I think was a much better addition than bowling. The world itself feels less dynamic and enjoyable. Every casino is empty, but somehow instantly stacked with players whenever you go to play a game. It feels like 90% of this game takes place when it's dark. Every time you even sniff a second of daylight it instantly turns pitch black again as soon as you start playing. Actually, as soon as you unlock the ability to pass time, even if you choose to do it you're jettisoned back into nighttime as soon as you want to progress. Free roaming is better, you can explore more of the cities and that's nice. What's not nice is the combat. Combat, instead of being style-dependent like the previous titles, is now free-flowing, seamless and physics driven. You would think this would make the game less monotonous. You would be wrong. The novelty of throwing enemies into businesses quickly wears off, and the way they flop around like dying fish becomes less amusing whenever you get knocked down and are also stuck in the same helpless flailing and flopping state. It seems like the physics in this game were implemented so catastrophically poorly that it has a severe effect on performance. I never experienced consistent frame drops, but cloth will get stuck mid-animation, items will cause frame-time drops, and certain animations/loading screens will cause the game to hitch temporarily. I'm led to believe this is some type of poorly implemented asynchronous compute problem, since these titles seem primarily developed for console. I liked the actual story itself. The Goda stuff was tragic in a way befitting of the series, Goro (excellent as ever) makes his appearances. Now Fujiwara has company with some age-appropriate wrestlers of his own, but this brings me to Majima Construction: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ what a piece of garbage. I thought when I read people online talking about how "impossible" the last level of it was that I'd be dropped into some high effort, convoluted gameception (game-within-a-game) thing. No. It's just a really stupid, really bad RTS-lite tower defense minigame that's laughably easy. Actually, basically all of the content in this game was laughably easy. I never felt reasonably challenged, nor suitably rewarded for my time spent. Substories were kind of misery inducing which is a stark contrast to previous games where I always felt like I was in love with them and frothing at the mouth for more. tl;dr I'm stunned. I don't really have much good to say about this whatsoever. I know 3 will be better. I'm not getting Kiwami 3. I'm getting the regular one. In fact, I will probably emulate the original version of 2 just because this felt like such an insulting and aggrieving experience that I cannot accept the original was ever intended to be this bad. Skip it, emulate the original, it can't possibly be worse.
I punched a tiger in the face.
this really yakuzad my kiwami 2
