Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.57/day in the week to Aug 14 → 4.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Locking the original yakuza 3 behind a 130 euro bundle is the scummiest thing i've seen a gaming company do. YK3 was a severely underbaked and underwhelming experience and there's no reason for anyone to play this over the original. The fighting styles lack impact and the gameplay is massively downgraded from Gaiden, and even that wasn't the best. The only actual good thing to come out of this game is the orphanage substories. it's a shame that YK3 got treated like this. And the biggest offenders: the horrible story changes (One which literally deletes a whole character arc in yakuza 4) and the unnecessary face swaps is just RGG spitting on one of their best titles

The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 6: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. It's pretty unfortunate that the fate of Yakuza Kiwami 3 was sealed long before the game even came out. The concept of a Yakuza 3 remake was somewhat divisive even before it was announced, but after the reveal of recasting Rikiya, Nakahara and Hamazaki, especially with the last one being a known sex pest, that was kind of it. I want to evaluate Kiwami 3 on its own merits, mostly as a remake but also as an individual game, but I think it's important to clarify that you should not buy this game. I do think you should play it if you're a Yakuza fan, it's a decently fun game with a handful of good changes and additions and has some of the most interesting metatextual commentary in the series, but you should not support this kind of behavior financially. With that preamble out of the way, let's start with the base game. Yakuza remakes have been known to be a little sloppy in terms of quality (as has been admitted by RGG themselves) and Yakuza Kiwami 3 is no exception. In fact, it might be the least polished Yakuza game I have ever played. There's more bugs than usual, the requisite Kamurocho filter is back (now in blue flavor!) but is weirdly completely absent during cutscenes which makes things quite jarring when jumping from one to the other, the combat, while not bad, feels a little more lacking than in recent games, a lot of unvoiced scenes are now voiced and some already voiced scenes have been re-recorded and you can really tell the difference with the ones that were left unchanged (especially with Mine who almost sounds like a different person). Keep in mind that none of this is experience ruining, but it does linger in the back of your mind as you're playing. It's still a perfectly functional game, Okinawa as a setting is well crafted and fun to explore, the new combat style is fun, and Kiryu looks as good as ever. People have been overselling the bad aspects of this game and while they're not invalid they are mostly overblown. One of these aspects are the character recasts. I'm a little more receptive to these than I thought I would be. I expected to heavily dislike them, and, well, I do, at least in principle, but I mostly got used to them over the course of the game. Rikiya is a lot less expressive, often times his face feels like it's frozen in place but he admittedly grew on me a little by the end. Nakahara's redesign is a pretty significant downgrade, his design and general attitude encapsulated the Okinawan vibe really well in the original and now he's just... some guy (the same also applies to Rikiya). Hamazaki's recast, controversies aside, is the best one, which is weird because, simply put, that is not Hamazaki. He's a wholly different character, a rather good one in my opinion, but he's so drastically changed both in appearance and personality that I have no idea what they're going to do with him in a remake of Yakuza 4. There's been quite a few changes that I find odd. The number of substories has been thinned down significantly, and while a lot of them in the original were one-off things and almost entirely forgettable, this feels like too few, though they're mostly pretty solid so I can't complain too much. More importantly, Mack is gone along with the Revelations system, and I just have to ask; why? Do you hate fun, RGG? Do you hate it when your games are silly and whimsical? Why did you remove this? To what possible end? Whatever, the orphanage stories have also been relegated to side content, and I'm in two minds about it. While it kinda sucks that they're entirely missable now, there's also a case to be made about them being more impactful when you have to actively engage with the orphanage to see them. Whenever I tell myself that I don't like this change, I think: "Would Infinite Wealth have benefited from making Life Links mandatory?", and I think the answer is no. The story is mostly unchanged, it's the same gibberish politics, Chapter 9: The Plot is still gloriously there although this time around strangely insecure about its own length with the game prompting you to take a break literally every five minutes, Mine is still very good and the highlight of the story along with the orphanage. The baffling part is that they forgot to change the parts they were supposed to.
Kashiwagi still gets riddled full of holes, Lau Ka Long still gets shot through the brain. Mine and Andre still fall off of the rooftop of Touto Hospital (this one gets explained I suppose, although it's indescribably moronic). These characters are supposed to be alive, RGG, this was your opportunity to make it seem like they had some chance of surviving.
The biggest and by far the most interesting change is the new post-credits cutscene. It feels so bizzare and out of place, an almost hamfisted presentation of themes ruminating on Kiryu's life to come, but I honestly find its inclusion mesmerizing, it feels like a direct meditation from the writers on arguably the most important Yakuza game, one that is simply channeled through the characters of the story. Mine tells you in no uncertain terms that Kiryu is a man shaped by conflict and violence and will inevitably always return to it. It's not that it follows him wherever he goes, it's that it's who he fundamentally is, what defines him, and so, a life of peace, of quiet domesticity, is not only something he doesn't truly desire, it's actually hell. The best way to punish Kiryu, therefore, what will hurt him the most, is to just leave him be, to make him suffer the perceived penance of his past sins. And on first blush, this all sounds like gibberish, doesn't it? Like, huh? Kiryu? The guy that just wants to be left alone but keeps unwittingly getting thrust back in Yakuza conflicts time after time? The guy who loves his children above all else and would give his life for them? But, honestly, I think what Mine is saying here kinda makes sense, at least with the hindsight of the rest of the series. Kiryu feels overwhelming guilt and remorse for his contributions to the Yakuza, it's one of the most prominent and profound themes of Gaiden and especially Infinite Wealth, and one that recontextualizes a lot of the series. Even as he's literally dying, it's the one thing constantly eating away at him, something that has been torturing him for decades. It's not so hard to believe that he started an orphanage not just to continue Kazama's legacy, but to do some tangible good in the world for once, to raise and care for these children in order to balance the scales for the lives he's ruined while in the Yakuza. And also, of course, Kiryu is undeniably drawn to conflict. He loves to fight, he actually chooses to return to Kamurocho every time, and he believes that he has to do everything by himself. It's this behavior that leads him to his lowest points in both Yakuza 5 and Gaiden, away from the people he loves so much and living with no real purpose. And so, Mine is right, in a sense. Kiryu's humanity is the biggest obstacle to his happiness. He wants to atone, to go back to the Yakuza to fix the problems he believes he's contributed to or caused, but he also needs his family, and in trying to pursue the former, he has to forsake the latter, all the while telling himself it's for their sake. So I would normally talk about Dark Ties next but it turns out that doesn't fit within the confines of a Steam review so I've just written the full thing here.
I’ve played and enjoyed all the previous Yakuza / Like a Dragon / Judgment titles from RGG on multiple platforms, but this game is genuinely disappointing and hard to recommend. Yakuza 3 is one of my favourites in the mainline series, and although it gets a lot of flak, there’s something about it I just like. This remake, however, is inferior to the original in every way except maybe gameplay and graphics. There’s the recasting, which every other negative review highlights and could have easily been avoided. The removal of 90% of the substories or outright changing them into something else. The removal of Komaki in favour of a new mentor to prop up the new Ryukyu style, which isn’t particularly fun to use. The removal of Mack and Revelations for unlocking Heat Actions. Forcing the player to complete two new grindy side modes to progress the main story at certain points. Changing key parts of the story along the way to work around the above changes. But the most glaring issue of all the change to the ending, which makes no sense and outright prevents key story points in 4 from taking place. Mine’s Dark Ties expansion is alright, albeit pretty shallow. The only major issue is that it reinforces the rewritten ending. At least Mine’s fighting style is fun to use, and it expands on the backstory of one of the series’ best villains. Play the original if you can, although RGG/SEGA have now locked it behind the Yakuza Complete Series bundle, so if you want to play it, you’ll have to shell out for that. It’s unfortunate, if RGG had just kept Kiwami 3 the same as the original 3 and simply updated the graphics and gameplay, it would have been an easy recommendation.
An overpriced and under-developed remake of Yakuza 3. Many questionable retcons, even more questionable gameplay changes, and the graphical fidelity is far below what I've come to expect from RGG Studios. Purchase the original Yakuza 3 if you wish to experience the story.
dont play this garbage, try playing yakuza 3 remastered instead. Rapist actor + retcon + filler cause no story sucks
I don't even know where to start with this game. (Spoilers ahead) The only compliments I can give to this game is that the orphanage and Biker minigames additions are okay at best. Some of the new cutscenes are a good placement, and Dark Ties had a pretty good soundtrack (I love Dark Alley and Alone in the Darkness) But the rest of this game is complete and utter dog water. The new combat style (Ryukyu) is REALLY trash, I had less fun with this style than the Dragon Style, which is ALSO trash, but more barable to play with. The soundtrack for this game is also GOD AWFUL. They butchered Lyricism Without Tears (one of my favorite songs in the game), removed Clay Doll in the Cradle with some cheap elevator music, and made a very crappy remake of Fly. Like in the first paragraph, I loved Dark Alley and Alone in the Darkness, but that's about it. I hated this soundtrack. Believe me, it's not easy for me to hate on soundtracks at all, this series has a wonderful soundtrack and I couldn't find a soundtrack I liked the least until Kiwami 3 came in. I couldn't bring myself to endure anymore of this sad excuse of a remake, so I decided to just watch gameplay of Dark Ties. Which is VERY disappointing and short, pretty much like the Majima Saga in Yakuza Kiwami 2. But to start spoiling,
Mine ends up living in this game, which has got to be one of the STUPIDEST ret-cons I have ever seen.
. If you ignore the obvious elephant in the room, this game is like a 3/10 for me. But with the obvious elephant, this game is a 0/10. I thought Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise was the worst game, but the crown goes to this pathetic excuse of a remake. Do yourself a favor and just buy the Yakuza collection that includes Yakuza 3 Remastered instead of this heap of crap. I've lost all faith In RGG, and my trust with them has gone down the gutter. Their next game better be perfect, but even if it was, I still won't forget how RGG betrayed us with this game. Maybe it was a mistake for Yokoyama to run RGG Studios.
I'm gonna be 100% honest with y'all in this review. This looked like Yakuza, played like Yakuza, but felt like a shell... of what the game could be. I only played 10 hours of the original, I noticed a fair bit of differences between the Remake and the remaster, but I don't know the full extent of it. I enjoyed this game for all the wrong reasons. I felt like it appealed a lot to me, when it shouldn't have. lol At least not in this way. Granted, I've played Yakuza 0, Kiwami 1, and Kiwami 2, as well a bit of the third one (remastered). So I knew sorta what to expect... I spent most of my gameplay in Morning Glory, cooking, sewing, fishing, and farming. As a girl, this was 10/10 for me, I was living a dream. But I felt like there was a lot left to be desired. Like, what the hell is the Haisai Girls? Was that an attempt to pander to the female community? I kinda miss the whole hostess mini-game/sidequests. And there was none. They removed a lot of the quests, namely a few sensitive ones, which addressed race issues. But then they displayed women being slapped around silly, and beaten. So you censor one thing but leave the other? Why just not leave everything? I don't get it. I wouldn't mind either, by the way. I'm not woke by any means, quite the contrary. It's just the whiplash this game caused that I cannot for the life of me... understand what was the intention behind these changes. I still feel like playing the remaster, because I want the authentic experience. I was mostly monkey-braining this game. I was more captivated by the graphics, and the hot shirtless men. (as well as the mini games that almost felt like I was playing Stardew Valley) than the substance that the game is trying to convey. Like I said, the things I like about this game, doesn't make this a decent Yakuza game. It felt empty, it felt dry, it felt like something—if not a lot, was missing. I cannot buy the remastered on steam. (I was previously playing it on the console). But thank God, I have a physical copy. Regarding how well this game runs? Well, I played it on both my Rog Ally and PC. Both ran like a damn dream, I have no complaints. TLDR: Just buy the remaster on GoG if you don't have it yet. And play there instead. Skip this remake, hard.
i cried because the game was bad, not because it was emotional if you're playing through the series for the first time avoid this one and play the original Yakuza 3 instead, to put it simply and spoiler free, events of Yakuza 4 just cannot happen with Kiwami 3's new ending it's a very rambling review with no order or whatever, don't bully me for the poor structure of it (or do idc) the new added cutscenes are sometimes fine, sometimes useless, some substories being included as part of the story was a good call, if it wasn't for the fact it got butchered too filters. why are we still getting filters. it's even more jarring when cutscenes don't even have filters applied to them and then you cut back to gameplay with smurf splashed Kamurocho with how blue it is the combat feels bad, like bad bad, it doesn't flow that well, limited options, the camera in combat felt atrocious if not unplayable in some places, fully maxed out Kiryu feels pretty weak. attacks sometimes don't link and phases through enemies all of the old trainers are gone, including Komaki (did they forget he's meant to be an important character to Kiryu? there's a whole thing about him in Infinite Wealth) for a new rather bland guy, with the most boring training possible coliseum is no coliseum, it's just a few battles, with a set order of enemies, without any special rules, it's boring the Reapers are now reduced to just evil dudes with no depths or whatever, all of the story behind them of helping them living a normal life through the HLA is gone, they're just evil because bad both of the Amon fights are a joke without much special to them, other than having a stupidly big health pool for the main one the biker gang stuff was plainly boring, with another generic 4 kings situation and barely anything unique to the gameplay being just standard combat with too many people on screen (and forced to play it to progress the main story) the new fighting style is kinda just meh, doesn't feel that good to use or interesting as it mostly plays the same as the Dragon style with some gimmicky ♥♥♥♥ added to it Akko-san? idk who that is but the overglazing of her was frankly weird the orphanage being relegated to side content didn't seem like too much of a bad idea at first considering it was kinda breaking the pacing in the original, but they dropped the ball again and changed if not cut parts of what happened in the og (Mame came bundled with the orphanage it seems as there's no introduction to him anymore, and no wrestling is criminal) i'm under the assumption that soon we won't have any heat actions anymore with how little there is, it feels worse than Yakuza 6, which at least had the excuse of being the first game on the Dragon Engine (and maybe a bit rushed i don't remember) i hate Kanda, i already hated him in the og but holy i hate him, this version made him the top 1 most hated character in my book, he's literally just a POS constantly going on about sexual harrasment trying to get his hands on women, and outright killing one in a fit of rage for no reason, at least don't show the body and just tell it happened, i don't want to see a dead strangled person thank you, also why are they trying so hard to put him in a good light with Dark Ties, i despise playing it just because of him a bit of a spoilery tangent for Gaiden and Infinite Wealth,
but i hate the Daidoji clan now, it was fine in Gaiden, got butchered in Infinite Wealth, and for whatever reason is being included in this story as well, i don't get what they're trying to do with them or what their intentions are at that point, especially giving different vibes between Gaiden and Kiwami 3 (as in Shishido in Gaiden gets quite literally kidnapped for them to use him, but in Mine's case it just sounds like they recruit him, and then Hamazaki from Mine's guidance, it's dumb)
also no Kamurocho lullaby. tl;dr game bad, play og instead
I haven't finished kiwami 3. This is my favorite game series, RGG i really hope you get it together. 0's directors cut is a slap in the face to the original. And this narratively is just despicable. Regardless of Kagawa incident. You choose to completely derail the cannon of the series, is 4 even cannon anymore. I will finish this at some point it's still Yakuza and it is still fun. But this Daidoji nonsense has to stop, I really hope kiwami 4 or whatever the studio chooses to call it. Remains more faithful than this. You guys have an amazing narrative up to Infinite wealth and you choose to spit on it makes me sad. Also I have a 49 inch monitor 32:9 I didn't pay for a 1200 dollar oled monitor to not be able to play a game released in 2026 at the wrong aspect ratio optimize your damn game and use the proper lighting you used in judgment. There's the end of my soap box. With love- Judgment Kazzy
