Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 1 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Having spent a great deal of hours in Grand Ages: Rome which I loved every second of, I was super excited to learn that Grand Ages: Medieval would be released, so it was an insta-buy for me, thinking it would be a sequel. However, I have only played it 1.2 hours, which is all I could put up with it. What. a. letdown. compared to Grand Ages: Rome. It's incredibly bland and uninteresting. Build cities, set up trade, gather ressources, rinse and repeat. I do not recall seeing this part of "ABOUT THIS GAME" on Steam back in the day, when I bought it: ""Grand Ages: Medieval" is a larger scale, real-time empire simulation game combining elements of trade, expansion and exploration with a heavy focus on economical domination." Had I read that, I would never have bought the game.
This is an ancient, 11 year old game from Kalypso with a slew of problems that will never be fixed. Taking the promising concept of a cheap, dumbed down ripoff of Total War: Medieval, Kalypso gave up on this 9 years and 6 months ago, despite knowing there's balance problems and other issues with the game. But they're still trying to get paid for this without doing any work on it. The game has some defects around a weak end game, so this isn't one of those games that works well when you build a huge empire, it just gets tedious. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. Due to the age of this game, and the lack of modernisation, the graphics appear quite dated. This compares poorly to more contemporary games with professional standards. Given that gaming is primarily a visual medium, this is a bit of a problem, so should be taken into account when considering whether to get this game. Those technical flaws drag this game well below the minimum quality standards expected of a modern PC game. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? Grand Ages: Medieval has the greedy, cash grab price of $20 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. For comparison, the $20 asking price for this game could get you games like "Yakuza 0", "Detroit: Become Human" or "Age of Empires IV". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. There's enough defects and quality problems with this game that it's really impossible to recommend to gamers. Asking $20 for an 11 year old abandoned game is a joke. You can get any of the Total War games for less.
This is a solid game, which I still come back to. Great economy and empire expansion playability. Would love if more games leaned into those features.
I’ve seen a lot of split reviews about this game, and I don’t think the game is as simple as most people describe. Personally, I enjoy the game. It’s a game I’ve come back to quite a few times and always enjoy it when I do play. I’ve seen a lot of people say it’s repetitive with the system of building new cities and trading and repeating a few times. But I don’t think most of the people who play give it enough time to progress your empire and build things like an army or your skill tree, build towns bigger with more fortifications, build better roads, defence towers, and go to war and take over other cities. The game is hard at first, and I understand that. I found it challenging to make money at first, and I would want to upgrade a town to its full potential too quickly, which drained the money too quickly. You have to go slow, understand, and tactically build towns with certain resources and products to increase your money flow. Every option for your town and army has a use, and to know that, you’ll need to read and play with these tools to help yourself. One thing I think this game does really well is how you control the game speed. You have options for how fast the game will go without pressing anything, or you can press the space button, and it’ll speed up by x10, which is super helpful for when you want a trader to go quicker or your army. I see a lot of people saying the graphics aren’t great, but what do you expect for an 11-year-old game that hasn’t been updated in years? I don’t think they are the worst graphics either; it’s just because people are so used to modern graphics and have these high expectations of realistic visuals in games. I will say the fighting and taking over of towns does take a long time and is quite annoying how long it takes for you to take the cities and how to strategically affect other kingdoms. Overall, I’d say this game is great. It’s for somebody who can read and learn from their experiences and tips they are giving you. It’s satisfying to expand your kingdom and trade with other kingdoms or just take them over. And exploring the map with the scout is fun; seeing the real-life places and geography is fun.
Terrible at everything, except scratching the itch for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Man! Macht schon erstmal Laune.
Great game!!
