+fun gameplay (when you get other people) +decent gun customization for indie game +unique character designs and abilities -cash shop with skin packs that cost more than the game -less than 100 daily players -terrible PvE mode with pay-to-revive -in game rewards are re-colors and weapon skins -the developers largely ignore community -use of ai without disclosing
Potential. That was what this game had. A very casual version of Battlefield. I enjoyed my time with WA during early playtests. And bought the game a bit after it launched into Early Access. The rush mode is solid and the PvE mode is.. alright. But.. But.. Player numbers where never enough to get non-bot matches off the ground. And over time Combat Cat seemed to be doing less and less for and with the game. And the latest battle pass (Season 6) is just re-used skins and not much more. Even going free 2 play wont save the game, given the developers already threw this out as "released". While patch notes still refer to it as early access. This is now just a failure.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Dev's chased the short term profits instead of long term - zero balance, rampent cheating, horrific bot Ai, use of Actual Ai not to mention skins nearly cost as much as the actual game - spend your money else where - this aint it.
So I'll say to start I loved this game with all my heart. I had been searching for just a solid PvP shooter experience that I genuinely enjoyed for over a decade and this was it. This game had everything about it that I was looking for and loved. Gunplay feels really, really good and tuned in. Movement tech is solid. Each of the characters feels entirely unique and their kits are fun to play. And while there are arguably some characters that are just better than others, each one is so good at what it does that a solid player who really loves a lower tier character can overturn a match. And I mean, the designs. THE DESIGNS ARE UNDENIABLE! Hime and Vlad are what made me download the game in the first place. However, I cannot recommend this game anymore and have stopped playing it entirely. And I was an evangelist for this game. I bought multiple copies for people and pre-ordered it the moment I saw the ability to do so. I even bought every cosmetic pack the moment it was available while I was still playing. I sold the premise and got no less than 10-15 people to pick it up to play it together. I was even having fun on maps just playing by myself with the game's bots. But I can't in good conscience support the devs anymore for: -Poor community management - I've never interacted with the devs but I've seen sweeping complaints about the devs being lackadaiscal or otherwise sweeping concerns about the game or community around it as a whole under a rug. At times they seem to only interact with the positive side of the community. But another bit on this concern is further down in this review. -A lack of actually engaging content - I'm really easy to please in this department. I was contented with just the few maps and the two game modes it had. But to see less and less get released over time and then to make a Deathmatch Mode to only have it open for a few specific hours a day was really weird to see. I wasn't bothered by it but it definitely affects the games health. -Microtransactions - As I said above I bought literally every paid skin the game had while I played. Cuz I really loved this game and wanted to support the devs. The devs even backed off some of the original pricing that was over the top which was nice to see as a response to the community. But the speed at which they were putting out skins compared to actual in game modes and maps, needed balances, etc. was sad to see over time. It became really clear where the priority was. - Gen Ai usage - This was the final nail in the coffin for me and the real reason I stopped playing. The devs got caught, with evidence, of using Gen Ai to promote the game. And like blatant and carelessly too. They posted an image in their Discord of the wolf character Jack with 3 arms (with one of them being a reptile arm) and a lemur tail. When called out on it the devs ignored it but got flippant with a commenter at one point which is just ugly to see. Considering how important art is to the wider furry community this feels like a slap in the face and a willful disregard of the very aesthetic this game had. So I don't recommend this game anymore. I would willingly come back to it if the devs admitted to and stopped using Gen AI. I would vocally support this game again if they start making moves towards creating a better user experience, easing up on MTX, and providing more fun ways to play it. But for not, don't get this game.
An unfortunate story, this. The game has all the bones of something absolutely phenomenal. The movement system is fantastic. The gunplay was great, the characters were varied and potent. Everyone felt impactful in their own way at one point or another. It was rough around the edges, but it was new and made by a small team. I enjoyed this game. To an extent, I still do enjoy this game. However, I don't recommend it. The dev idea of 'balance' seems, consistently to be either ignore feedback altogether, or nerf the good things into the ground to accommodate the players who, by their nature, do not play often. Rather than appeal to the people who spend the most time on the game, they tried to appeal to everyone... And history has repeatedly shown us that anything made for EVERYONE is best for no-one. By bending the knee to the casuals, they lost the dedicated. The casuals got bored and stopped playing as they are wont to do. Somehow, the decline in active players was either unnoticed, or the devs did not care. They banked it all on a PVE mode that is... exceedingly boring and makes most of the characters(in a hero shooter-like) absolutely and entirely useless because of the raw severity to which many have been nerfed. This was a Hail Mary, and they dropped the ball because they didn't learn from their mistakes, almost entirely refusing to do so. While I've had no issues on their discord, there are sweeping claims of issues in enough abundance that it can't be dismissed as a few bad actors. CCS seems to barely listen to feedback here or there. This game had an amazing degree of potential, its own unique identity and great mechanics. The devs not only did not seize upon this, but they degraded the foundation they were building on. I want to recommend this game, but the trajectory it's on is obvious. I hate to see it, but unless they make a complete U-turn, this game is going to collapse within a year. I don't regret the purchase, I had fun, but that's past-tense for a reason.
[OPENER] AT 450+ GOON HOURS?! No. I mean, yes, but no. I love this game. I love the premise. I love everything good ol' Combat Cat Studios is offering here but... I'm pretty sure it's nothing you hadn't seen before. Especially not for $15USD. So let me be real real clear here. This game rocks. Out loud. The schmoovement is great. The characters are reactive. The sound is punchy and meaty. Everything technically does exactly what it should be doing. Only, this game is basically 3 years old, with exactly 1 years of content pushed into it. [GAMEPLAY] If you want my honest truth, everything (aside from the occasional bad mantle) is excellent. The movement works exactly the way you think it should, and any sliding, clipping or map-related BS is basically non-existent. You get the occasional hiccups every so often, and depending on your system you may have an ass ton or none at all. But overall the game always feels like it runs fine, so it's easy to play and easy to understand. That's the good mostly. The bad comes with everything else, and it's basically because nothing has truly updated in years. The same hand full of valiants are available, a generous fist full of weapons, and just enough maps to count on one paw. Oh, and 4 game modes. 2 of which are exactly the same, and only work a few hours out of each day... So it's easy to understand how a few outstanding weirdos will completely learn the games systems and basically non-abusively abuse the hell out of them to make it unfun for the folks who can't. Not technically Combat Cat's problem but... if there's no new content, then there's no new ceiling. [COMMUNITY] Easily the only reason the game is standing is from the furries who dare trade shots in it. It there was a way the community could be more involved in the weekly presence of this title, I'm sure it would have literally exploded by now. It's a furry hero battlefield clone... Basically a slam dunk for modders and goons with too much time. Yes, vet them, but still! The discord for Wild Assault is always popping, even in multiple languages too! If you're ever looking for people to squad up with for Defense, or just to play with so you're not alone while the bots ignore you... Pop into the Discord and ask around. I'm sure someone would love to play this amazingly dead game with you! [FUTURE] And here's how I see it. Wild Assault used to have 4 servers. US-N, US-S, Europe and Asia. Now it's just US, EU and AS... so they shut one down? They lost one? Why? That's a downward trend that seems unlikely to support further growth moving into Q friggin 4! Additionally, we're on Season 6 if their continual Battle Pass and we haven't had a new valiant since Anthea which was... what, months ago? Each Battle Pass features gun skin for guns you likely won't use, character skins just cuz, and a whole lot of microtranscation currency for more skins and icons... What the hell is this game? What are we doing? Why are we getting more gun skins instead of guns? Why are we getting more valiant skins instead of valiants? Why are you sourcing your ideas from the Discord community without literally just... conscripting the community? Why are there no new maps? Why is the defense mode not hyped harder? Or accessible through a NEW map instead of a repurposed one?! Do you guys need employees? Do you guys need voluenteers? Do you guys need straight up suggestions? The people still playing this rag would love to help you. I'd advise literally anyone operating in Combat Cat to try and reach out to the community and open up some channel to support this game. I also advise anyone interested in this game to EFFIN WAIT... DON'T PAY FULL PRICE FOR THIS PLEASE. THERE'S NOTHING IN HERE. Yes we're having fun, but... there's nothing to offer except for a few excellent games, then exactly the same experience... over and over and over again until YOU realize that 'excellent' is subjective. I LOVE THIS DAMN GAME. DON'T BUY IT RIGHT NOW THOUGH. I ALSO PLAY CROC CUZ I HAVE A DED INJURY! (TOO DEAD TO PLAY IT RIGHT!)
Game was fun and had potential. Devs dropped the ball and been kicking it into the grave since. Overpriced skins, paid PvE revives, no balance, garbage matchmaking, bots are bad, plenty of cheaters, use of AI slop and the devs refuse to listen feedback.
I Really Wanted to Like This Game, But I'm Done I genuinely enjoyed Wild Assault. There is a good game underneath all of this, and for a while I had a lot of fun with it. Unfortunately, over time, a combination of problems has completely killed my enthusiasm for it. 1. Cheating: The cheating problem has become increasingly frustrating. When you're trying to enjoy a competitive multiplayer game, repeatedly running into people who appear to be cheating makes it incredibly difficult to stay invested. I understand that no multiplayer game will ever completely eliminate cheaters, but it needs to feel like something is actually being done about the problem. 2. The Bot AI: The bot AI is… rough. When matchmaking doesn't give you enough players, you're often stuck relying on bots, and they can make matches feel considerably worse rather than serving as a reasonable substitute for human players. This becomes an even bigger problem when the overall playerbase is already so small. 3. The Pricing: Some of the skins are absurdly expensive for what you're actually getting. We're talking about cosmetics that can cost nearly as much as the game itself. I have absolutely nothing against games selling cosmetics, but when individual skins start approaching the price of the entire game, it becomes very difficult for me to justify purchasing them. 4. The Playerbase / PvE Mode: This is probably the biggest practical problem right now. I was genuinely looking forward to the new PvE mode, but the game's current player population makes it difficult to actually experience. The mode requires around 3–4 players, which isn't unreasonable on its own. The problem is that there simply aren't enough people playing consistently to make finding those players reliable. And seeing the game sitting at around 50 concurrent players even during a weekend, when you'd normally expect more people to be playing, and when the game is offering increased EXP during weekends, is pretty concerning. A multiplayer game can only survive if there are enough people around to actually play it. 5. The New Lootbox System: The new lootbox system is another major annoyance. You can receive a lootbox for winning, which sounds good on paper. Except then you need another currency to actually open it, and that currency is tied to real-money purchases (at least in its harder difficulty). It honestly feels like I'm being punished for winning. If you're going to give players a reward for winning a match, requiring another premium currency before that reward can actually be used feels incredibly backwards. And Then There's the AI. This is ultimately what pushed me over the edge. There has been growing discussion within the community about the use of generative AI in Wild Assault's promotional material, and the more examples I've seen, the more uncomfortable I've become with it. The official responses to these concerns have also done very little to reassure me. What makes this especially frustrating is that the game's own Discord server has a rule explicitly stating: “No Generative AI.” Yet we're now having discussions about apparent generative AI being used in the game's own promotional material. That contradiction is extremely frustrating. I'm not going to pretend the AI issue is the only reason I'm done with Wild Assault. It isn't. I was already becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the game because of the cheating, bots, pricing, declining playerbase, PvE accessibility, and monetization. The AI issue was simply the straw that broke the camel's back. And unfortunately, it hits particularly hard for me because I've already had a similar experience with another project. I've seen firsthand how frustrating it can be when you become invested in something, only to later discover that artwork you thought was legitimately commissioned or created was actually AI-generated. Because of that, seeing similar concerns surrounding a game I had genuinely enjoyed is enough to make me question whether I want to continue supporting it. I don't expect every game to perfectly align with my personal standards. But I do expect some consistency and transparency from the developers of a game I'm supporting. The Bottom Line Wild Assault isn't a fundamentally terrible game. That's what makes this so disappointing. There are genuinely fun ideas here. The characters are cool, the gameplay can be enjoyable, and there is clearly a lot of potential. But the problems have continued piling up, and instead of making me more excited to play, each new update seems to give me another reason to stop. At this point, I simply don't enjoy playing Wild Assault anymore. Maybe I'll come back someday if the game makes significant changes. But for now, I can't recommend it. It was fun while it lasted, and I'm glad I got to enjoy it. I just wish the game had given me more reasons to keep enjoying it.
