Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Maybe someday ill play this game but it is a hard pass for now. Cant stand freaking being stopped every 90 seconds for 2 hrs for either a cut scene or useless blabbing and exposition. Also what the F is up with all the forced slow walking scenes? If you have ADHD avoid this game at all costs. The first boss they throw you into is absolute cancer with a crappy autosave that forces you to reload if you die (i was playing on hard and ran out of potions) The open world seems like a barren collectothon littered with spongey enemies. Combat was okayish from what I played but the kbm controls felt very loose and whiffy. I just can't. lol .1 hrs past the refund period :(
If you read any reviews, please read mine. I recommend this game, 12/10. It starts off a little slow, but the character arc and world building are well worth the wait. People may get upset about Frey's perspective and how she responds to certain conflicts, but I think it really rounds her character out and really makes her human. You don't play this game to make your own choices, you play this game to enjoy participating in a story as it unfolds, and learning Frey's story with her. The combat is really fun with the huge range of spells you can unlock in skill-tree fashion, and don't get me started on how fun magic parkour is. The accessibility features are also fantastic, and you can make a lot of adjustments to make sure the game is most enjoyable for you. Personally, I recommend the auto-loot feature so you can pick things up by running over them. If you're on the fence because it looks fun, but you're concerned about the reviews, please give this game a chance!

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I don't think this game is as bad as some of the reviews made it seem. I will admit that the beginning of the game could have used more work. The story and combat take too long to get interesting, and there are some glaring plot holes. Once you unlock some of the different magic trees I thought the game really was fun. The story is fine, you can see the plot twists coming a mile away though. I will say that Frey is one of the most believable protagonists I've seen in a game like this. Her attitude and decisions made sense in the context of the story.
Story is rough especially at the beginning and the end, also the postgame is sorely lacking in side quests. The lore is great and the magic system and combat even better.
Yes, the banter with cuff can be stale and repetitive, yes, Frey talks like a twelve-year-old learning how to swear, and yes, sometimes the facial expressions are odd. But this game is so rich and entertaining. It's a sprawling isekai tale that only gets better as it progresses. The lore is engrossing and I found myself paying uncommon attention to small details. The combat is the highest point of the game, as the moves are well choreographed, move fluidly from one to the next, feature fantastic effects, and really gave the feeling that Frey was this talented, powerful sorceror. I thought the game was fantastic. I went to 100% achievements and I never do that. I can happily recommend it.
Really fun game once you have accumulated the relevant stats ,abilities and powers. Some of the platforming can be a bit frustrating and the "protagonist's whining" can be a bit annoying. Would definitely recommend even if it's just for the massive open world and the cool parkour stuff
Gameplay is ok. The story is a let down. The main character is insufferable. The final boss fight is also a bit bland. Overall, it is not that great.
It's not the greatest game ever made, but it deserved a lot better than it got. I actually liked the story and characters and the open world gameplay has a lot of fun stuff to do. Also it's been mentioned a lot, but the world traversal with magic parkour is always fun. If you like solid open world games then you'll probably like this.
honestly kinda liking it ngl. EDIT: Okay so I'm going to caveat this... I feel its worth the 20 bucks on sale. Definitely not full price: Stiff animations, terrible voice acting of side characters, weird cut scene delays and just a lot of random stuff that feels unfinished and lack of care. There's also these random parts where you must interact with several paintings/people/items etc and it just feels tedious and annoying. I'm not sure what they were thinking with some of these design choices. The combat is very fun, traversing feels really cool (although its a bit jank at times) and the boss fights are fun so far. it's a conflicting one. I also don't mind Frey as much as other people do. I kind of like the feisty attitude.
Forspoken is an open-world action RPG developed by Luminous Productions and published by Square Enix. It follows Frey Holland, a young woman transported from modern New York to the magical world of Athia. The game blends fast traversal, spell-based combat, and a narrative centered on personal growth and survival in an unfamiliar land. Gameplay focuses on parkour movement and elemental magic. Frey can sprint, vault, and glide across vast landscapes using her magic-infused abilities. The system is fluid and visually striking, encouraging momentum and creativity. Combat combines ranged and melee spells with dodging and timing, allowing players to mix offensive and defensive strategies dynamically. The spell system is the game’s most innovative feature. Frey wields multiple elemental schools—earth, fire, water, and more—each with distinct attack styles. Unlocking and upgrading abilities creates steady progression, offering depth for players who experiment with combinations. Despite occasional imbalance, combat remains visually impressive and responsive. Visually, Forspoken showcases high-quality environmental detail powered by the Luminous Engine. Landscapes range from desolate plains to corrupted ruins, enhanced by particle-heavy spell effects. However, artistic variety is limited, and some areas feel empty despite technical polish. The character models and animations are strong but not groundbreaking. Performance is mixed. On high-end hardware, the game runs smoothly, but optimization issues can cause frame rate drops on weaker systems. Load times are fast thanks to SSD-focused design, and visual fidelity remains consistent during traversal and combat. Narratively, Forspoken is uneven. The core story about isolation and empowerment has potential, but the writing and dialogue often clash tonally—mixing modern slang with high-fantasy context. Supporting characters and lore are underdeveloped, though Frey’s personal journey provides some emotional grounding. Overall, Forspoken is a technically ambitious but uneven RPG. Its traversal and combat systems are engaging and stylish, but the narrative and world-building fall short of the same standard. For players drawn to fast, magic-driven action and visual spectacle, it offers moments of genuine excitement—just not the consistency expected from its scale.
