Forspoken follows the journey of Frey, a young New Yorker transported to the beautiful and cruel land of Athia. In search of a way home, Frey must use her newfound magical abilities to traverse sprawling landscapes and battle monstrous creatures.

Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is Vastly Overhated. Its nowhere near as bad as ppl made it out to be. Its for like a less polished FF15. I am really enjoying this game!!
Not as bad as everyone says, but still pretty horrid.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Bought this game expecting the worst but I left pleasantly surprised. The games writing can be a bit cliche and cringe but there were still moments were I was invested in the story despite this. I liked exploring the world and completing the side content however I feel like the game's combat feels a bit slow until you get your 2nd set of powers from the first big boss. The game really becomes more exciting as soon as you acquire this 2nd set of abilities and have more variety in combat. You also unlock more options for traversal with each set of abilities which makes exploring the world far easier and fun. If you are finding the combat or gameplay a bit boring then please be aware it does become more exciting. I wish I knew this going in as using the first page of abilties I was worried this was all the game had to offer.
The 8-Damage Review: Why Forspoken is a $20 Skill-Based Masterpiece 1. Skip the Prologue Noise Ignore the New York storyline. It’s a slow-burn, scripted mess. All you need to know is Frey is angry, she lost everything she cared about (her cat), and she got pulled into Athia. The game doesn't truly start until you get out of the city of Cipal. 2. The Marketing Failure vs. The Open World Reality The marketing team failed this game by trying to sell a "Sassy New Yorker" narrative it failed So then they tried sell openwrorld but failed to show the combat yeah go every where for what no enemy's. You can not sell "Emptiness" even here on steam same story first video O look at the what you can do in the game big whoop it is "Emptiness" Then they let the Developers speak with out scripts and we got Hip-hoppy" walk and "angry orphan" Why is worth 20 bucks? They should have sold it as a "Go anywhere, kill anything" sandbox. Once I got outside Cipal, I saw a big Red Bear in the distance. I was way underpowered—my shots were doing only 8 damage. 3. No "Corporate Shell" Throttling Most modern games (like World of Warcraft) use "Level Scaling" as a hard guardrail. If you kill something 20 levels higher, they punish you by only giving you XP for an enemy at your own level. They force you to "fit the mold" and grind. Not Forspoken. 4. The Reward for the Kill The Bear could kill me in one hit. I died the first time. The second time, I fought for 5 minutes, survived with a sliver of health, and won. The game didn't hold my hand—it gave me every single drop of XP that high-level enemy was worth. I immediately unlocked two high-tier spells (Leach and Tendril) because the developers allowed my skill to win the fight. 5. The Verdict Yeah, the story has its issues. She’s not a hero by nature. But for $20, a game with no guardrails, no level caps, and a truly open world that rewards you for doing the "impossible" is a massive recommendation. If you can kill it, you get the power. Sold. This not like Elden Ring by any means But what it does do is the same thing it rewards for killing. Just like killing the Tree Sentinel at low level it drops the Golden Halberd and 3,200 runes immediately. yes I could not even use the Golden Halberd at my low level but I worked for the points to use it as soon as I could. That us why I highly recommend this for 20 bucks skill pays off.
This is a 5.0001 yes. DEEP DISCOUNT. The game play is somewhat interesting on premise, but gets old and repetitive too. There is a LOT (like 40+ minutes straight) of very very lazy exposition at a key point in the story which go old fast. I think i got this in a pick and mix for about like 80%-90% off and yeah that is a recommend that discount.
This game is unique simply because not many game developer try to pull off something at this level of creation. However this game loses out on a wider audience simply because the story is so atrociously bad. You will bang your head against the wall trying to get past the first few chapters of the game just to play what seems to be a great concept of a game. This is not about gender or about game play this is just story tanking whatever this could have been of a game. The protagonist has the awareness of a flea and the survival skills of a goldfish. I found myself stopping because i couldn't stand the story and the drag it took to get to some action. More often than not i wanted her to stop talking. Again i stress gameplay isn't really the issue story is.
i want to post love for this game because i've played through it, twice, on playstation but it runs so much worse in comparison on pc, even on good hardware (gtx 3060, i7) and when using low graphics. the world, gameplay and lore is something i personally love, even if it the open world is a little...empty? unfortunately i straight up wouldn't recommend playing this on pc because of the performance issues - consider it on another platform. i'll probably still finish it on here but still.
Story is rough especially at the beginning and the end, also the postgame is sorely lacking in side quests. The lore is great and the magic system and combat even better.
On announcement, I was very excited about this game. Looked gorgeous, love the main character, living the Isekai why not. Purchased on release, my system could run it fine for the most part, slipped into the environment, learned the character, was absolutely down with it and then... The story came to a screeching halt as you are put into a major city. You're given very little time or ability to engage with the world, explore who you are, as you are meant to traverse a sprawling, occupied kingdom as they lay down their Expositional Plot at you and... while that may all be well and good, felt very little for what was going on. Save the impovershed? Sure. Power of the purple, okay neat. Bracelet of power, got it... At that point, momentum had been lost. The acting was fine, but very little at that point had me wanting to explore the world or solve any of their issues. I could not even recall the names of anyone I met. Tragic, sure, but hardly a deathknell. Then the gates are opened, and we are allowed to explore the world. The... vast... open... brown... desert. Vibrant as it may be, it is still a rocky desert with a few smatterings of different colored rocks and maybe some foliage, with samey-looking towers and points decorated around, where from point A to point B you are given *WAY TOO MANY* side things to glance at that.... if you like reading, boy oh boy get your tome handling book out. That being said, characters commenting on what was read helps a little to give some aspect to that but... I don't want to read a game? Visual Novels are for that, Action RPG is for Action RPG. So will the combat save it? Kind of... The enemies are basically Magic Zombies, and they come in herds. Indicators of where damage is about to happen, fun fun, very flippy actiony flashy, to the point that combat felt weightless. And in a game in which your primary weapon is hurling stones, making Rock Attacks feel "weightless" is not a good feeling. The damage numbers mean for little, especially when Horde of Zombies still take a few smacks from a fully loaded Charge Shot, so the attacks feel weightless *and* ineffectual. Boss fights are a series of strafe and stay away, Dodging felt inaccurate or just plain pointless, completely unsatisfying against bosses. Small critters, the dodges and counters are kind of cool. Bosses? They care not for your agility, get smacked idiot. Lastly, the technical issues. I gave this game a long pause, a period of time to simmer and let the updates cook it thoroughly. This helped with other games... returned over a year later, and the results? Seemingly no change, worse; when venturing into an enclosed dungeon-like corridor environment, one in which certainly must be fully loaded and in a singular environment... I found that as I ran through the hallways, the game would stop me in my tracks, bring up a loading screen, then slap me right back in with all the momentum I had drained from my movement. For a game that is marketed as fast movement, free-running action... it sure does seem to want to stop you every chance it gets. So I would rate this game as Trip Hazard.
