Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
This game is very confusing for people, so I am going to do a double review. For the game and other reviews. With a little comedy, enjoy. First of all, this game is good. Very good even. Most everything said in reviews whether good or bad is not trustworthy due to ignorance, expectations, etc. Secondly, this game mostly had problems because of the original price being like 90 dollars US, an engine most computers could barely run when it came out, (also during the time of my review, need at least 16gb VRAM for even low settings at 4k), and realistic character/story elements and dialogue made for kids which most older people didn't care for. Why didn't people like the main story/main character? This is a niche JRPG, (Japanese) Alice in Wonderland story of realism marketed to the younger audience with the classic life lesson draw. The main character is a flawed teenage orphan whom grew up on the streets of New York city, (realism). This is a fantasy that tries to identify with the underprivileged and lost in a real way. Why didn't the game and its young, poor, street rat, African American, female, New Yorker protagonist appeal to a lot of white, male, older, privileged people relaxing in a chair playing video games?........ Well, obviously its cause of the rude New Yorker bit. I mean have you ever met one on a business trip? Calling them rude, doesn't do it justice..... That's the part you were thinking of too, right?...... right?... Seriously though, is the gameplay worth it? The gameplay is fantastic. Near perfect compared to so many other JRPG's. The engine and long autosave interruptions make it run a little wonky if you don't know how to turn down the settings properly. The annoying autosave interruptions are my only real complaint. The magic combat at 4k, the amazing character movement speed and parkouring cliffs instead of climbing. Such an improvement over most open world games. Throw in the ol' auto-item pickup and you even parkour chests and doors. Even games with flight don't really compare for ease of open world exploration. Despite every single older or younger gamer giving their onerous opinion of this game, I'm going to do my list of pros and cons as well. Without exaggerating one thing in the game to be oh so terrible. Exaggerated whiny voice, "They make you stop in the intro to do dialog for like more than a minute one time. And... And... And even though you can skip through it really easily, It was soooo NOT ok. Why couldn't I walk and do the dialog?! Huh, Huh?! OMG, it even happens almost like 2 more times in the game where you are forced to stop and do dialog at important points in the game for almost, like a minute. Can you imagine?!" No joke, that is literally one of the biggest complaints on this whole game from the beginning from its release to even now in the reviews. I'm honestly not sure whether to laugh or cry. Pros: --BAM-- Almost no game compares to the speed and ease of movement parkour, this is Mirror's Edge level, (Saw multiple reviews saying the speed and parkour wasn't good enough cause some sheer face walls blocked later parts of the game. Yeah, imagine the game blocking off certain areas in the beginning and giving you upgrades to your abilities later that are not given to you in the first 5 minutes of exploration. How dare they?!) --BAM-- The magical combat in this engine looks fantastic. --BAM-- You have constant and continuous dodge capability. I'm sorry. Did you say what invulnerability window is on your dodge? What's the timing? Why would I need that, I'm dodging remember? **ickin' Finally. How hard was that?....... *Smacks the back of someone's head.* "No, we aren't talking about cars Steve. OMG, go back and talk to your dad about it, nobody cares." --BAM-- Includes max of 3 self revive potions and a regenerating lethal hit blocker. That's why I don't need no party members punk. Best walk on. --BAM-- Fall damage is highly mitigated and off the map falling is not instant death. So have Fun! --BAM-- The story has some good twists and turns. --Auto item pickup is a boon, gotta turn it on though. --BAM-- Equipment can be upgraded with any of the perks you want! Change anytime! Do people have any idea of the amount of games where you don't get to just upgrade and switch perks around? Where instead you spend 10 hours of the game going back forth into your inventory every 10 seconds to check dropped equipment, dps, perks, rarity etc. Heck sometimes it is like 15 different pieces of equipment or 6-8 for 4 or more characters! This games has 2 pieces of equipment, nice and simple. Each with 3 perks you get to choose. --BAM-- Can upgrade and use any cosmetic equipment variant from the first item to last with all your favorite upgrades. Pick and switch, resources are aplenty to support multiple changes! Does having 2 pieces of equipment mean the game doesn't have style?! No it does. And you can actually choose the one you want instead of losing it after 2 minutes because some new item drops that has 0.2 higher dps or AC. Anyone notice the survival games and rpg's starting to do stat equipment and cosmetic look separate? Super important. However, this game has the solution that is arguably the best of both worlds. --BAM-- Charging your magic is not interrupted even when it is, What?! After you dodge or get hit, you start at the charge you made it to, not back at the beginning! I don't think I have seen that in any rpg game Cons: --BOO-- I'm going to give one boo for having several things you can't do until after you complete the story... Not always a bad as long you Tell Us Right? So, we don't have to look it up and chance hitting spoilers. -- I'm not going to give this a full boo, but not being able to turn off auto saves is an issue. Only because of the heavy engine your computer is trying to carry. Then you ask it to make a heavy save every 30 seconds to a minute for new combats and the like. Small issue, but without it you could calibrate the graphics to be almost perfectly without skipping if you wanted, even with a lower end amount of VRAM. -- The dialog that comes off a little lesson learny/cringy is totally normal for a family rpg or jrpg. The swearing and freaking out was more fun though and more family friendly these days too. --This game is mostly the open world grind with only a couple bosses and written snatches of story and dialog like so many open world games. Not a real con per se, but this where people can complain about pacing etc. Of course if you are a real completionist, you are going to do the whole grind anyway, so why complain about one or two less bosses. --Only one type of puzzle, with many variations for opening special chests. Honestly this was my only issue with the gameplay. I am a Zelda fan all the way. Prissy dress and everything. I love lots of puzzles, but this game really doesn't have any. And I can't even really count the chest one. Cause it isn't part of the environment, just a popup. I think that is one of the real unspoken reasons people describe the world as empty. Didn't see it mentioned in a single review though, which was weird. Batman was full of puzzles. Assassin's creed not so much. I guess it just depends. -- No stats on difficulty difference during choice Easy to guess but still. This game will go down as an unrecognized gem. A victim of price hiking, heavy engine, larger than life hero fantasy expectations, and a bunch of whiny negging group mentality. Like many of its type whether tv show, movie, game, book, whatever. No faster way to fail than having your audiences' initial expectations be off. Then trying to rip them off just cause your budget was high.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I bought this game for Steam on release day. I was just looking for something that would stress my system and wanted a new open-world experience. Stress my system it did. It was a buggy, poorly-optimized mess. I let it incubate, and toughed through the frame drops, and unlike Capcom with Monster Hunter Wilds, Squeenix actually committed to patching the living crap out of the game to get the optimization right. Within the first month the game was playing running like smooth, warm butter. Stunning visuals and virtually no stutters on an AM4 with RTX 3070ti. With a RX 7800XT I now play on Epic settings with no Frame gen, and get easily 80FPS or better at 1440p. Its beautiful, really. Stunning sights, and exciting and snappy gameplay. Magic system should be a model for these types of games going forward. Frey, is a tough protagonist to love. Let's get that out of the way. Shift your personal paradigm and its not hard to view the world with her pessimism. She matures with the story so stay the course. The banter with Cuff is annoying at first, but it grows on you. This game needed to breathe, and now more than 2 years later, I think it's worth a second look from everyone. Did it deserve the vitriol? At launch, absolutely. There is no excuse for launching a broken game. But now? If you can get it for $30 or less, you absolutely should snag it. (At time of this review it is $20.99 on Steam and I got a copy of it for PS5 for my shelf for $18 through Best Buy). It has one of those conclusions that keeps you thinking about it after you experienced it. A fairly immersive story that admittedly seems to be missing some exposition after the first main area, is filled out a great deal more in the DLC. Add it to your library and give it a try. Its far from a waste, and it may surprise you.
This game had decent potential, but they really blew it with a cookie cutter approach, no literally every dungeon was the same, every cave was the same, every monster no matter the zone was the same with a little different texture,.. each boss fight was the same and the dungeon bosses where horribly textured... pointless tasks, money system is silly since there is only 3 vendors, crafting / equipment was so limited. Its like they tried to cram all the parts of a good game into this but only barely delivered on each front. Every step of the game was identical to what was before it and after it, and at one point you get so bored with it you just want to finish and move on to a different game. the world map had so much empty dead space and pointless zones, its like they where producing map just to produce map.... i left multiple zones completely undiscovered, because it was just dead repetition outside of following the main story. If not for the story being at least mid, id have probably dropped the game mid play.. but the story was just barely able to keep me playing. I did like the magic system and parkor, but everything else was lacking. I am struggling to find much else that was good,.. i never hit any major bugs... Sorry but double thumbs down. very happy i didn't pay full price.
There is a decent game buried in Forspoken, which is why I 100%'d it. Unfortunately the fact that Square Enix has the stones to still be charging 100$ for the deluxe version of its game despite dissolving the studio that worked on it makes me less likely to purchase games from the publisher. The first few hours are a slog, and it's filled with all the sins unfocused, big-budget open-world games have these days. Despite that, when you do get the movement and abilities to really play with the game it gets a lot more fun. Too bad this occurs around the 8-hour mark when you're 90% through the game's story content. For the budget this game had behind it and the cost they're charging for it it's just not in any way worth it even considering the parts of it that were polished and I truly enjoyed.
Game protagonist is annoying, didn't catch much of the plot, gameplay itself is fluent and fun. Was going to enjoy more, but unstable on Linux and it's not like there's any love shown to it since the backlash, so I refunded it. Plenty of fish in the sea and all that.
As a concept it's a fun story, if a little over-used over the years. Movement once you get going is fine but getting going is awkward. Fighting has some good concepts but the fights get boring fast and it penalises you for getting hit by losing multipliers so you end up sticking with tried and tested methods instead of experimenting. Boss fights feel as long as a Souls game boss fight but boring instead of challenging. Dialogue between Frey and the Cuff gets old really quickly and you just want them to shut up. In short an adolescent game trying to be an adult but just not hitting the mark in anything. I overpaid with the 70% discount.
Forspoken Review

Overview
I bought it at launch, played about 3 hours, and quit because it was performing like absolute trash on a very decent PC. Two years later I came back to 100% it, and I am sad to say it did nothing but disappoint me through and through. Uninspiring and a waste of money for me, with one bright spot in combat.

Story Overview
Spoiler light: you are pulled from modern life into a ruined fantasy world and bound to a talking cuff. You travel across huge regions to face powerful rulers, pick up magic schools, and try to find a way home while learning what happened to this land. It is a classic fish out of water setup meant to justify the magic parkour and spell sets.

World and Exploration
The graphics look pretty cool, but the world is very boring. It is vast, empty, and lacks creativity. I did not feel inspired to explore the way the game really wants you to. Massive terrain and high mountains constantly slow the flow, and the rewards rarely feel worth the detours.

Movement and Objectives
Magic parkour is pretty cool at first, then gets underwhelming the more you play. The map is so big that you do not feel like you move fast enough or do cool moves that push you forward. The worst part was objectives chaining into more running: go to one place, then another 2,500 meters, then another 1,500 meters. It becomes running and running and running with parkour that gets old very quickly.

Characters and Voice Acting
The voice acting feels bare bones. The main character comes off blunt and rude for no reason, and I could not connect with her. The cuff leans on cheesy, quirky, cringy dialogue during travel and combat. The character dynamics never clicked for me.

Combat
Credit where it is due: combat is really cool. The different effects, skills you unlock, and flashy animations land. There is a good variety of spell sets and abilities, and fights can look and feel great. Combat is where it is at.

Rewards and Cosmetics
Exploration did not feel rewarding. A pre order cosmetic cape that glows like a Razer keyboard looked out of place, and the outfit vibe in general felt off. Nothing I found made me feel excited to collect more.

Performance
At launch it was bad on my hardware, which put me off. Coming back later did not change much for me. Performance still dragged and the overall experience never became memorable enough to justify the slog.

What Works

Combat looks and feels cool
Some early magic parkour novelty

What Falls Short

World is very boring and empty despite cool graphics
Endless long distance objectives that keep you running
Movement gets underwhelming as the map size sinks in
Main character and cuff dialogue did not land
Rewards and cosmetics feel out of place and not exciting
Performance issues that never really went away for me

Verdict
Not recommended. The concept sounds very cool, but execution across world, characters, movement, and performance was a disappointment. I liked the combat, but everything around it made the game a thumbs down.
This game is far better than the cancel-culture "anti-woke" mob would have you believe. The traversel feels like infamous The combat is frenetic and varied (as varied as your skill can handle) No two fights are the same.
Its got an interesting combat and exploration system, but its a lot of mindless grinding. The story really needs some work, most def not worth full asking price. id buy when the a 75% sale or more fr
