About
Windrose is a survival adventure set in an alternative Age of Piracy. It features the classic “build, craft, survive” formula along with intense combat and engaging exploration on land and sea.
Progress through vast procedurally generated biomes filled with hidden mysteries, hand-crafted dungeons and quests. Gather your crew and captain your ship through brutal naval combat with boarding actions and seamless transitions between ship and shore.
Defeat challenging bosses on your swashbuckling adventure driven by real-world characters and supernatural forces alike.
Every legend begins with a reckless crossing.
You are a captain who dares to challenge Blackbeard. What begins as a grounded story of survival and revenge draws you into a growing conflict between empires, pirate clans, and mysterious dark powers looming on the horizon. Windrose is steeped in the allure of the Age of Piracy.
Answer the call of the seas and move seamlessly between ship and shore. Naval combat is shaped by your decisions, whether you’re trading cannon fire at range or closing in for fierce boarding actions. Equip and customize your ship to suit your playstyle, from nimble ketch to versatile brig and monstrous frigate. And when the cannons go silent, claim your spoils and share a sea shanty with your crew as you sail onward.
Establish a foothold in vibrant, diverse biomes, gather resources, and build to your own taste, from simple shelters to elaborate mansions and fully developed forts. Recruit NPCs and grow your settlement to speed up harvesting and production.
This world belongs to the brave and the curious, so venture into the uncharted lands. Over 100 hand-crafted dungeons and points of interest contain endless secrets and treasures, though such rewards rarely come without risk. Trade with different factions to gain the edge you’ll need.
Hack, slash, batter, and shoot your way forward! Master a wide arsenal of melee weapons and firearms. Parry and dodge enemy attacks, chain different strikes, and keep an eye out for new gear, including sabers, rapiers, halberds, greatswords, pistols, muskets, and more.
Shape your combat style through talents and flexible loadouts with unique armor sets. Use food and potions to gain powerful buffs. Test your skills against a wide range of enemies and challenging bosses, defeat them, and claim their treasures.
Windrose is fully playable solo offline or in co-op with friends, supporting up to 8 players, with both self-hosted and dedicated servers available. Procedural generation will make each journey stand out. Please note: due to performance, especially in the late game, we recommend to play in the party up to 4 players for the optimal experience.

super jeu bravo a la petite équipe qui le développe bon sur tous les points manque juste le pvp et la c'est le feu vous serais pas déçu
Great sandbox style pirate game. Very much like Ark but pirate themed. The sailing, ship building, settlement building and naval combat are great. Some little details, such as naming the ships and seeing the name on them really build the immersion. Resource gathering is a little time consuming, but not overwhelming. The pace builds slowly but after some time, it's fun to see how much progress is made.

I have been thoroughly enjoying this game. It's pretty dang incredible all around even in it's current (early access) state!
Hands down, the most fun I have had in a video game in some time. Dear Kraken Express, you've done an awesome job with this game <3
A fantastic experience!
Crash ! Crash ! after latest update
Me and my buddies got this game a little while ago to try it out. So far it has been a very fun game. The combat is challenging sometimes but not nearly as hard as some other "souls like" combat styles. Ship combat is fun and engaging, although a mortar or some rear weaponry would be cool. Absolutely hoping that there is a Man o' War style ship in the future as well as more interior decoration, like gold chests or silver piles, make your hoard feel like a true pirates plunder. Looking forward to more content in the future and would recommend this game to anyone who likes the souls games combat but wants to scratch the urge of piracy!
A good pirate game but it needs polishing. - One of the main issues with Windrose is how not very well optimized is for mid-gear PCs it creates a lot overloads and bottle necks unless you cheese the video settings. Performance and optimization should be the priority in the upcoming updates. - EXP and leveling up is tied to copleting POIs, this should change and instead be granted with kills and sea combat. - Rewards and RNG mechanics suck, grinding POIs to get herbs is just depressing and annoying. This should be changed to garanteed gear and weapons or at least blueprints. - Many weapons and gear have very awful passives which needs to be overhauled. - Health and Damage scaling needs to be rebalanced, many common enemies become bullet sponges in the end game stages. - Lacks real pirating, currently we only have the rouge Black Beard faction as enemies, but it will be cool to see Neutral to hostile factions like merchants, royal navys or even undead. Fighting the same faction for the entire game becomes dull after the second boss. + Sea combat is close to what we see in Black Flag, cannon shooting and boarding ships. + Good hack and slash mechanics and animations, but the keybinding for some weapons suck and need to be changed (heavy attacks in the same key as light attacks but holding the key.) + Good base construction, but it lacks elements to interact with, is pure decoration and cosmetics rather than actual interaction. 8.5/10 Overall I see the potential of this game, and I'm really looking foward to see what will be implemented. More unique ships, more combat, more enemies, more shanties, and more content! I sure do hope they add modding support to further improve the quality of life of this game after full release.
This game has opportunity and great adventure for players of every caliber! The more comfortable you become with a game like this, the tougher you will want to go! I have not played another game since i found Windrose! I can't wait till the next content update!
I've had a lot of fun. The game is tough but not overly punishing. Good risk vs. reward when boarding enemy ships. Lots of quality of life with the inventory system that makes it a complete non-issue. You'll almost never be asking yourself, where did I put that since the inventories at each base is linked to the crafting stations. It is a good time!
