About
Immerse yourself in the history of Ancient Egypt with 50 missions in Pharaoh™: A New Era, a remake of Pharaoh (and the expansion Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile), one of the best city builders from the golden age of Sierra Entertainment. Stone by stone, build your city and manage all aspects of its development to ensure it prospers and makes you a powerful and revered pharaoh.

Develop your city by cultivating the fertile lands along the banks of the Nile valley. Erect the iconic monuments of Ancient Egypt, including the pyramids, the Sphinx and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. Build temples and mausoleums to help manage all aspects of your city's health and culture as well as the predominant polytheistic religion of the time.
Ensure your city is prosperous enough to deal with economic or political crises, or even plundering by enemies. A pharaoh takes care of its people and does whatever it can to earn the favour of the gods.

Pharaoh™: A New Era celebrates 20 years since the release of the famous franchise with a complete remake, including more than 50 playable missions and over 100 hours of gameplay.
The "Campaign" mode teaches you the game basics while allowing you to experience a unique story in the heart of Ancient Egypt. Explore all aspects of life in a thriving city, build and manage all its fundamental elements to ensure it flourishes: the economy, internal and external trade, culture, health, agriculture, education, etc.

The journey back in time is really brought to life with this new version, which upgrades the gameplay mechanics to modern standards and completely redesigns the captivating soundtrack and gorgeous isometric 2D graphics.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game feels nothing like the original Pharaoh, it is vastly different in every way but but the egyptian theme and similar city building concepts. If you are thinking of buying this based on it being as good as Pharoah was ... I don't think you are going to like what you get frankly. I put hundreds of hours in the original, this is a poor imitation at best, not a true successor of that great game. Impossible to recommend whether you played the original and especially if you did.
even if you are god of egypt have all money in the world you will still have to wait for sandstone(220,240), marble(?) and while you are waiting about 100y for it to stack up the lack features of original game/gameplay change(military combat ,event loop trigger, crime wave) and bombarding pop-up every few min/sec to pause your game make this not fun to play at all also police is 90% useless now (can't kill hostile animals , 80% will not catch thief (force event)) you need much less worker to get the thing done compare to original game god don't get mad every x sec if you don't keep checking on them anymore tax feel worthless to collect(where is tax evasion move from original game?) for those who dare just try it and feel the suffer! you better off with other game (ex.they are billions) which would be 10x better then this and please try out original game if you still like this game after all of this.
This game has WAY to many bugs, constantly crashes, and the walkers are not displayed correctly. I LOVE this game, I grew up playing the original Pharoah/Cleopatra so this is disappointing,
It's about what I remember from the OG, which is one of the first city builder greats. Some stuff isn't happening the way I remember it (I remember police activity in stopping crime being more visible). Alas, not everything is what we remember as kids, so who knows. The game holds up. I wish there were more speed-up options, but it's otherwise still a great city builder, even in 2026.
As a long-time fan of the original Pharaoh, I was really looking forward to Pharaoh: A New Era, but the disappointment came quickly. It starts with the military system: armies can no longer be controlled directly, which makes strategic battles almost impossible. No targeted attacks, no tactical positioning — you can only watch helplessly as your soldiers wander around aimlessly and get slaughtered. The combat system feels unbalanced and becomes downright unfair later in the game. Even after winning battles, buildings are randomly destroyed as long as enemy units remain on screen, which makes no sense at all. And then there are the wild animals — an absolute disaster. They attack villagers while the police stand by and do nothing. The only solution is to turn off wild animals completely in the options. Seriously? Was the original design too complicated, or what went wrong here? The graphics have been updated, but the character models look like something straight out of a mobile game. Verdict: The buildings look nice, but the gameplay is disappointing. The original Pharaoh is still the far superior version in every way.
The original Pharaoh was the first game I ever played. I'm a huge fan of the whole series (Caesar, Pharaoh, Zeus, etc.). Seeing the cartoon-like user interface of the game makes me sad and utterly disappointed. This decision has completely ruined the amazing vibe of the original game. My only hope is that the developers will add a classic UI mode. Otherwise it's much better to play the good ol' Pharaoh with HD mod.
ENG As a huge fan of the game, I just had to check it out. Let's start with the pros: -Full HD graphics -Flat mode – very useful -Additional maps with objectives And now the cons: -Terrible optimization -No map rotation—we lose part of the map where we could have built after rotating -Awful army management/battle automation—I don’t know who came up with such a stupid idea, but this shouldn’t go unnoticed. -Bugs in the game—and more than in the original title -I was hoping for better warehouse management Overall—it’s a good game; it lets you play Pharaoh on new hardware without the hassle of stretching the screen or dealing with questionable patches. But if you compare the remake to the original—it’s a bad joke. The 1999 game is in better shape, more feature-rich, and offers more gameplay options.
Intro
Analisi

Storia

Narrativa
