Fantastic souls like game!
First review I’ve done here on Steam, and this game deserves it. I’m a Soulsborne and Soulslike veteran, and I can say with confidence that this game is one of the best. The developers delivered a unique experience that stays true to the roots of Mortal Shell 1. The different shells, weapons, and tarstones allow for a ton of build customization. In Souls games, I’m always the big bonk tank, but here I found myself really enjoying more of a traditional dex build. A lot of people are saying the game is unbalanced, but as the saying goes, they need to git gud.

Beta was amazing, thought they really nailed the difficulty. It was challenging, but not absurd just for the sake of it. The Beta was clearly a bait and switch, and the full game is just mentally exhausting. I guess the jokes on me for thinking a beta/demo actually represented the finished product.
I Love souls-like games, but putting instakill pots everywhere is just not the call. Lords of the fallen remake had a similar issue, but instead of explosive pots it was 50% of the enemies hiding around corners and knocking u off cliffs. May revisit later, but with no multiplayer or pvp i just don't know if i would come back to this.
Clearly better than Genshin Impact
good
Absolutely loved it, easily one of my favourites of the year. Any game they make is an instant buy for me now.
visuals are amazing. runs smooth as butter. the combat slaps. the parry focused gameplay is smooth and rewarding, with the multiple types of block/parry to fit your playstyle. even with the limited arsenal of weapons and shells there is a ton of build variety. mortal shell 2 is a fun and well made game... but ENOUGH OF THE CHEAP DEATHS!!! only negative thing i have encountered is the amount of times i have died a ''cheap'' death. i'm not talking enemy behind a corner (which there are lot of). i'm talking the infuriating times i died to a explosive barrel that can kill you through your shell. that are behind a wall that i needed to break or in a dark room with tons of enemies. or a homing unblockable attack that also insta kills you. things like this feel cheap and ruins the fun, especially with some of the run backs that this game has... so much gloom lost ;-; Mortal shell 2 is 9/10 game.
Non stop crashes still unaddressed
Absolute Kaufempfehlung!
