Not a bad game, just a mediocre one. Great soundtrack. Unfortunately due to recent changes in the EULA this game is now malware/spyware.

This game used to be decent. Now it forces you to installs Epic Online Service, which requires you to be always online to play this mostly single player game. And since the recent update to EOS, the game always crash at launch so I can't even play at all. 0/10

Really great game that I have enjoyed coming back to many times over the years. I even found a home in the welcoming community for a while during a bad time for me. Too bad that's gone now. Recently when I tried to reinstall it, without even asking for permission first the game started trying to install some spyware on my computer! There is no reason to do this especially since the game used to run perfectly fine without it for years. But now all of a sudden they need Kernel-level access to my computer? No thank you! Go somewhere else people. This game is a beautiful and unique experience and I haven't found a single game that properly creates the same experience. The other Homeworld games come close, but those being set in a 3d space environment does make it quite different. But despite all that it is not worth your money! Do not let them think that spying on you is okay! There are so many other RTS games that don't need to do that, go play one of those instead. I would have refunded the game if I still could tbh.
This game pushes epic games down your throat. I bought it from steam because I hate epic but steam says they cant do anything about it. Im gonna try to refund but wont go through because 3hours on record. Its funny how if you dont play enough of a game your review is laughed at but if you have enough time on it youve played to much for a refund. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous.
Unfortunately I can't recommend this game ever since it now forcibly downloads the overlay from Epic ever since 2023 from what I can tell. From what I've read, this was done when the game was given out for free on the Epic game store. Issue is is that the game now has what I consdier equates to DRM, you are entirely unable to play the SINGLEPLAYER CAMPAIGN offline, no wifi, no game. You are not even able to edit game settings because for whatever reason you need wifi to even CHANGE game settings. Having an Epic overlay was also to help bridge the game between game owners on Steam and Epic so they can play multiplayer. So why in hell is the SINGLEPLAYER CAMPAIGN need a wifi connection for?
I love this game, i loved the story and the campaign... so why the negitive review? EPIC GAME SERVISES, litterly logs a bunch of data from your PC 24/7 and sends it to epic (more likley china) so yeah, there is a fix you can find online, but honestly ♥♥♥♥ EPIC
Upon running the game. It auto installs EPIC Game store. I DONT WANT EPIC ON MY MACHINE!! I already have DRM on my computer with Steam. Why do i need to have DRM that activates more DRM in order to play a game i paid for years ago. This EPIC BS wasnt here last time i installed the game. Steam... seriously, why? Surely you as the DRM on the games i own is more than enough. Launchers, DRMS, accounts, passwords, Ad infinitum... taking up storage, memory, time. I JUST WANT TO PLAY THE GAMES I FKN PAID FOR!............VIA STEAM!
Been playing this game on and off for years to find today that it forces Epic games onto you. I was planning a re run of homeworld soon too, sure hope that doesn't force an epic install too.
