But I know this much: Anything that has too much market power or concentrates too much power in a single individual will eventually go down the pan, and T2 will go down the pan too. Then a freeze already during the tutorial, although it might have something to do with my certain under-voltage going on when I don't really intend to play, but of course I'm not inclined to even remotely try to figure out what has caused it either. Feels pretty game-related, and games that crash on my system don't belong on it. There are still plentiful games left that I haven't even touched in my library. I don't need to be bothered with a game that freezes on a fine working, up-to-date W10 on a PCIe5 NVMe powered by 12 cores of a Ryzen 9 5900X with a 16Gig RX7900XT and 32 Gigs of RAM. Maybe an Intel + Nvidia system handles it better. Just so you know. I don't need to know. It's all a bit unfortunate for the actual devs, because the game makes a very good impression, and this is primarily about the backdrop and the mechanics of the much-vaunted and loved classic, why I once bought it in the first place, not so much about the look, but which is also convincing. But it's the politics behind the scenes that gets me every time anew. Indie still trumps in this current era [no pun]. Studios that allow or even offer themselves to be snapped up, well, they also have to live with the consequences of what their customers think of being traded to a corporate juggernaut. Changing the contractual partner? Without my consent? Never been funny. And then, to top it off, to one like ... this? Zelnick again? For all that plus a bit more: no recommendation. ❌ The actual artists of HW have certainly long since moved on anyway. So, just let's move on too.

With all the EULA crap that Take-Two has put in place, I cannot and will not recommend this game or any gearbox game to anyone again. Take-Two is anti consumer and really scummy for being so blatantly evil. Uninstall all gearbox games and never purchase from them again, that is what I and many others recommend. Take-Two can rot in hell.
I originally loved this game but due to the updated 2k terms of service that allows them to apply Kernal level spyware I must give this a negative review.
2K Games changed their privacy policy in November 2025. They now have an automatic data miner in their games, selling our information to anyone interested. No games from them. Don't play games you already own; let them go bankrupt.

Gearbox broke Homeworld Classic by patching in an ancient bug that the original developer, Relic, fixed ages ago. Homeworld Remastered is less buggy but just loses a lot of the charm of the original game by basically being a HW2 modpack. A lot of the missions are imbalanced and nearly broken due to strange ships behavior and stats and fighter refueling is completely gone. Homeworld 2 is ok, I guess, and a lot of cool old mods are on the workshop.
Originally bought this around the time my son was born. Now my son is an adult and loves this game and it's a special memory for him. I guess it's a special memory for me as well.
Fantastic RTS but it is bugged, you need to get the "Homeworld Remastered Players Patch" off the workshop to fix and make it playable.
the game itself is great with many good mods however the launcher simply does not work. Without fail the launcher crashes the moment it is clicked. Apparently there are many fixes posted online however few work and fewer work consistently, that being said even if all the fixes worked first try it would still be unacceptable for the developers to allow for such issues to remain unresolved (ie this issue has been present since 2017) and because of this i cannot recommend
