The game turned out to be surprisingly good - just because I expected to play a kind of an action slasher with souls-like elements. But huge part of mechanics is concentrated on solving puzzles, exploring the mysteries and unveiling the lore. All of these riddles are designed and distributed throughout the gaming world in a complicated and most intricate way. This project has its own specific identity, which highlights this game among the others, and it definitely needs a sequel. P.S.: hell is not us. Hell is made for the creator of the "Legend of the Phol" achievement, where you have to defeat all remaining entities after closing all timeloops. This is a stupid waste of time, 'cause you have to revisit and "vacuuming every location" after you've beaten the game and collected all the artifacts.
Okay please listen dev's! I am not a fan of puzzles and did google them. Music was fantastic and atmosphere with diaglog was brilliant(general npc's, cutscenes were a bit meh). You hit the nail on the head with both ecstacy and fear bosses! It made me feel those things, I didnt know I needed to feel thoses things.... If you somehow managed to incorporate that more into the game then it would be a knock out winner. You cant have too much and you cant have too little, both greif and anger were a bit meh (was kinda sad they didnt get the same treatment as the other 2). I dont have all the answers but you seem to have atleast half of them, do something with that and create a masterpiece. This game deserved a thumbs up and I hope more people play it. I hope more comes from it.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I think Hell Is Us is a generally great game, but comes with some things to note when considering if you want to play it. First, I'm glad to say the story is quite good. However, be warned it is not shy about the dark nature of it's content. It's a civil war featuring ethnic cleansing and genocide by both sides of the conflict. And everything you can imagine happening to civilians in that kind of situation is on display. The supernatural and conspiracy elements round things out so it's not simply a civil war. But while you're dealing with these things, the civil war is what most NPCs are dealing with. Second, the puzzle and world design is really hands off. You have to read. There are no quest markers. At best, quests will append notes to your electronic device that keeps you organized on who is doing what. You will probably need to pull out a pen and paper at times and jot things down when sorting some puzzles. You'll also generally be solving puzzles as much as you're fighting so if you're not down for reasonably involved puzzles with a good bit of inference, this might be a game to avoid. Oh, and some of the quests are time dependent so if you advance the story without finishing some quests, NPCs might move on or die - choices and consequences of you helping them or not. Third, we have the combat. And this is where things get tricky to evaluate. I don't think the combat is "bad". That would imply that it doesn't work at all, or isn't satisfying ever. The actual moment to moment fights, and the mechanics are at worst passable, but usually solid. What isn't great is enemy variety. You will fight the same enemies generally all 30 hours. Now, they DO change. There are three level tiers to enemies and they will progress upward as the game goes. What this means mechanically is that enemies get more aggressive. So the attack patterns get faster, special attacks get added in that disrupt your drone, have big AoE, or shorter wind ups and can lay you out quickly if you're not on your toes. You will often be more outnumbered and need to keep positioning in mind. So in one sense, the game is incredibly repetitive with it's enemies. In another, there is a progression still. Just maybe not enough to get more than a "Good Enough" rating when it's all said and done. On the technical side of things, the game runs well though I did note some choppy frames occasionally when moving into some larger places. It wasn't constant, but it was there. Visuals are generally nice. They're not the best graphics, but they're not lacking for a 2025 game, either. Voice acting is generally good, at least in English. I don't know if anyone will fall in love with these characters, but they're emotive enough to feel like interesting people. Sound is generally excellent. The ambient music is very moody and likes to use distortion to warn when enemies are around. Very ominous most of the time, which can lead to the game feeling very tense. So maybe find something happier in between play sessions.

It is fun however keep in mind right now that it is crashing frequently. Wait for updates and for the game to develop more if it develops at all and then look at the reviews to see if it's still is crashing. At the time of writing this within 3 hours the game has crashed 8 times. Unrelated to the crashing issues I enjoy the difficulty settings where you can customize the difficulty by modifying enemy HP and damage output.
Excellent Game, Definitely deserves more love than it got, Game played flawlessly. Very intriguing approach, with an investigation style to a souls type game. Its probably only a single playthrough game for most. As enemies can feel a bit derivative towards the end. I would recommend switching up weapons types to keep things interesting. Overall I would recommend to anyone seeking a souls game with a twist.
Unfortunately, this game doen't pass my 2 hr refund window 1. maybe im a spoiled child but games where you can't climb or jump are -100 points for realism. I mean my charachter can do amazing things, have to unravel great mysteries and maybe save the world (or smth) but a log or a small fence stop him on his tracks? Come on 2. Combat feels random and unpolished (maybe controller IS needed as game suggests) but from keyboard and mouse - just feels off. Janky movement, some lock mechanic is needed for precision (that's def crutches for controller). Just mid there. But reading other reviews, many people say it's repetitive, so why would I want more of that
