YAKUZA KIWAMI 3 is an extreme remake of the action-adventure beat 'em up Yakuza 3 featuring ex-yakuza Kazuma Kiryu's fight to protect those he loves. DARK TIES is a brand-new game featuring Yoshitaka Mine from Yakuza 3 included as a separate action-packed experience.

Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.57/day in the week to Aug 14 → 4.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Overall, compared to Judgment, Lost Judgment, Y0, Kiwami 1, and Kiwami 2, this game is a severe disappointment. If you played Y3 and want the update or just want to play Dark Ties, it's honestly not worth it. Kiwami 3 stripped away all the personality and intrigue that made Yakuza 3 fun and engaging. Arguably it took away all the things that made Yakuza fun.

Over half of the Y3 substories were removed.
The re-casting and changing of the big characters from Y3 completely erradicates their soul.
Revelations were removed. You learn
a total of 4 moves
in a slightly-more interesting way than just putting skill points into the skill tree, but it's through the 'optional' side-content, which...
Optional side-content is only optional after you complete the story-required parts.
Dark Ties had all the potential and all the hype, only for it to be put to shame. Mine's combat is the best part about the game as a whole. All you do in Dark Ties is a bunch of very repetitious tasks to
raise Kanda's reputation and then get a very retconned cinematic.
All of this is already rough without mentioning the specifics of who was included in the re-casting which really makes this seem like a PR stunt rather than game developers dedicated to making a good addition to the series.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 6: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

THE GOOD (Why you should buy this): Next-Gen Graphics: This is the peak of the Dragon Engine. You can literally see the pores on their faces and the sweat on their skin. It’s the most visually stunning RGG game to date. Dark Ties (Mine Campaign): Being able to play as Yoshitaka Mine is a dream come true. His boxing-style combat is fluid, impactful, and honestly better than the main story’s combat. Seeing his backstory and how he climbed the Tojo ranks is 10/10 content. QoL Improvements: Finally! You can change costumes during the main story (seeing Kiryu in a suit in Okinawa is a vibe). The Coliseum/Arena battles are also more addictive and challenging than ever. The "Haisai Girls" & Dragon Vibe: The side stories and the atmosphere still capture that classic Yakuza heart. THE BAD (Why I’m screaming): The Ending Retcon: I HATE the new ending. It’s messy and feels like a cheap plot twist. SEGA ruined the emotional weight of the original sacrifice for the sake of fan service. Assassin’s Creed Kiryu: The "Ryukyu Style" with the Tinbe and Rochin (shield and spear) is just... why? It kills the Yakuza lore. Kiryu is a brawler, not a Spartan soldier. It feels out of place and ruins the "Dragon of Dojima" identity. Stripped Mechanics: No "Feel the Heat" system, limited Heat Actions, and the removal of equippable weapons and accessories. It feels like a step backward in terms of RPG depth.
Очень жду STRANGER THAN HEAVEN.
If you love yakuza don't listen to the cry babies that are upset they didnt make a 1:1 updated game. Stuff was cut out other stuff was added. The game plays great and am going to keep supporting rgg. If you played all the other games and you need your yearly fix buy it. If you want to cry go buy yakuza 3 remastered and see how outdated it feels

Alright remake if you're looking a for a serious game. Unfortunately the remake butchers Yakuza 3's charm by removing 99% of what made the OG game fun. I mean can you do this in the remake? https://youtu.be/xNGRnJ-NFN4?si=hzGqMjfZHZVHRajV
-This is the worst iteration of this game series EVER. If you thought that pirate spin-off looked bad, this one is way worse. -Lighting and visuals look like first-time blender user made it. To the point where the OG version somehow looks better in some places. -Game settings keep resetting when you change a single non-related option. I have all the other RGG games. This one is the new low. Can't even refund this garbage due to "Alright, I'll give them a month or two, they will surely fix it"
