For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Пятая часть диктаторских стратегий, где можно возглавить республику во главе со своим Мадуро, и никакие спецслужбы не посмеют его выкрасть. Не хватало именно ее в коллекции все это время.

Tropico 5 is a decent city-builder with a great satirical sense of humor about politics and dictatorship, but it's hard not to feel like a step down from Tropico 4 in almost every way that matters. The era system is an interesting idea that ends up locking you out of buildings that should be available much earlier, and the dynasty mechanic adds busywork without the deep character customization the previous game offered. Late-game becomes a frustrating mess of unexplained unhappiness, rebels you can't seem to quell, and economic death spirals with no real diagnostic tools to help you figure out what went wrong. That said, the colonial era is genuinely charming, the writing still gets a laugh, and there's enough here to sink a solid 20-30 hours into if you're new to the series. If you've played Tropico 4, though, you'll likely spend most of your time missing it.

I really enjoy Tropico 4 in the past, still played occasionally . So I bought this one. Here are some problems with this T5: 1) The Era system and how you must advance means you are stuck with certain playing strategies. 2) A lot less control such as salaries. 3) too much unrest that can't be explained. 4) A lot of things lack explanation. On the good side, farming is good.
Compared to Tropico 3 it's more of a demo, and all the DLC is the full game. The devs really messed up, if they had released the game and all the dlc together in one purchase, even if it was £50, people would be able to have "fun" (what games are made for) and they'd make bank. but instead no, same as tropico 4, they just want to egg you on with transactions here and there. It's literally a skeleton compared to tropico 3 and whatever sandbox it's supposed to have in it, it doesn't have. Every map i've beaten, I had to beat 1 single specific way and if i strayed from this choice i wouldn't be able to succeed. That's a very bad game design choice for any kinda of colony/city builder sandbox simulation. If anyone reading this needs to scratch that city builder itch, just go buy New Cycle, it's literally endless fun in comparison to this trash, doesn't have any dlc, and it's frequently updated.
Tropico 5 is starting to show its age, and the graphics are no longer exactly state of the art. That said, the game is still fun to play and offers a challenging city-building simulation.
Achievements
Required time: 40-50 Hours Difficulty (in my opinion): 3/10 DLCs required for 100%?: Yes – 2 (Waterborne, Espionage) In terms of achievements, most of them are earned simply by completing the main campaign and the two DLC campaigns for Espionage and Waterborne. This will unlock the majority of the achievement list. Beyond that, there are a few achievements tied to Sandbox mode and some multiplayer achievements. The latter are somewhat problematic due to the very small active player base, so you’ll likely need a friend to complete them. Overall, still a solid entry in the series and worth revisiting.
