Each player has a unique island, their own personal world to decorate, cultivate thriving ecosystems, and restore from the blight of the Withered. In co-op multiplayer, players can team up to breathe new life into each other’s islands.
Please note that multiplayer is currently in a prototype stage.
Cooperative Gameplay: Join forces with up to three friends (4 total, including the host) to explore and revitalize the island. Engage in activities such as decorating, building, combating the Withered, planting diverse ecosystems, and gathering resources.
ToA MP focuses solely on cooperative play, with no player-versus-player elements.
Personalized Islands: Every player maintains their own distinct island, reflecting their creative vision and efforts in healing the land. While islands remain individual and do not transfer between players, the collaborative experience allows for shared exploration and mutual assistance.
Shared Progress: Items and amity acquired during multiplayer sessions seamlessly transfer back to your personal island. This ensures that cooperative endeavors contribute meaningfully to your individual progress and development.
Quest Progression in Co-op is currently available in a beta state. Note that any quest and story progression experienced in multiplayer is only applied to the host and does not carry over to other players in their own worlds.

Really awesome game. The visuals are cool, the gameplay is really fun and the combat is generally challenging. The progression feels meaningful without being the entire focus. They've gone from a small team to an even smaller team (see the steam discussions), so things have slowed down but they're still at it and the game is already worth the time but maybe wait for a sale price-wise.
Disclaimer: It has been some time since my last full playthrough but I am eagerly waiting for the next big update. While news are mostly shared on discord and feel sparse, there's a very active and helpful moderator in the dev team! Do I recommend this game? Yes and no. It truly depends on what you expect from it. I for one love this game for the sheer scope and fantasy of it. There's many sites to see and foster and I love the vision of growing gigantic trees you can climb on to feed your eyes on the sight. This game feels like a peaceful daydream in which you explore, nurture and take in your surrounding and the wondrous creatures chilling around your trees and other biomes. I also enjoyed the parts of the game where you find tidbits of the older times, of the history of the land and your ancestors. You will meet creatures from way back and befriend some or win back their trust. I enjoy playing a part of restoring the earth back to how it once was without ever feeling like I am the god of these lands or having control over it's inhabitants. Additionally, I quite liked to face various different types of creatures and characters with their own unique history with the land (or opinion on your tribe's arrival). The city / tribe quests were fine to me but didn't make me as invested as I would wish. (May be because of my limited building expertise combined with the restricted building mode or because (while the villagers are having different character traits) they didn't really connect with me all too much.) There's several unique mounts to unlock which I love. "Negative" things you should consider before buying it: Climbing is usually fine but can be a bit clunky here and there. Last time I've played multiplayer, only one person could use the teleports (this has been ages ago, so I do not know if this is still in the current version). Some fights later down the line are tough. I've cheesed them and was fine with it, but I do prefer the chiller moments in this game. Other fights are pretty straightforward imo. The building can be pretty elaborate if you are creative and think outside of the box, for a mediocre builder like me, it's mostly done to fulfill quest. Some tasks feel more like fetch quests than others, it really depends on how much of a pet peeve this is for you. This game is still in early access and you can feel that at times. Nevertheless, I would encourage you to try it out if you have an itch for this type of game or vision. Even unfinished, I can find a lot of enjoyment in this game and hope you will too. This game has heaps of potential and I hope much is going to be realised. Be it more biomes, more places to explore, more animals and behaviours to see, more things to build or opportunities to traverse the lands with, etc. I just want more, I love the vision of this game.

When the game first came out in EA I was excited and picked it up. Rough edges but a really unique premise and beautiful game world with loads of potential. Development went OK for a little while, but it’s now been a year with nothing. So, unfortunately at this stage it’s got to be a negative review as it’s looking more and more like this title will be joining the hundreds of others that have been abandoned in EA. Missed opportunity.
Godspeed to the devs.
try the game for yourself don`t let the comments steer you away
First time I tried this game it run well... now it's unplayable! Game looks like a raw gem!
НЕТ РУССКОГО.
I really tried but the woke Ideolegy is just so bad. I just continued playing the game and only white dude as far as I got was a bumbling idiot and it just seems the amazing quality and effort put into this game was wasted. Im just so sick of this crap. Keep my money. Regret buying this game. Could say more but moneys gone move on.
