Parts of this game are genius. The core gameplay is absolutely difficult, forcing you to balance expansion risk with careful planning and detailed unit management. It's all Ironman, so you can't just savescum when you mess up. You have to have fallback plans and defenses with multiple layers. You have lots of choices in tech and strategy, all of which are interesting and all of which can work. But for some reason they decided to include mandatory pixel hunt mini-game levels that have nothing to do with the core gameplay. It's like being forces to stop a tense game to play Where's Waldo, but on a poster sized image and Waldo is just 3 pixels tall. Just to do the campaign you'll literally spend 2-3 hours of your life scouring maps you've already cleared for hidden pixels. Again and again and again and again.

This game is the damned tits! Steampunk tower defense with great graphics and gameplay. TAKE MY MONEY!
The campaign is just overly hard and tedious. There's no way that even a seasoned rts player is not going to drop missions even on easy difficulties, likely softlocking progress and requiring restarting the game. Once you know the missions and what works it becomes easy to replay and win (not unusual for scripted rts missions, but there's not much else on offer here, but this snowballs against you for mission rewards making it harder in the future. Campaign is all over the place. Some parts are insanely easy, others not. Very easy to softlock your progress and have to start the campaign (yes the whole campaign not just the mission) over. Missions go from 0-100 at the end with no real sense if you are just wasting your time. You would normally think that zombie holdouts would be fun but somehow it is not.
Fácil de aprender, difícil de dominar.

Game is "deliberately HARD CORE IRON MAN ♥♥♥♥ YEH SO COOL". In other words, you have to waste hours and hours repeating tedious builds under tight constraints, with no progression in the interim. No saves, no checkpoints, nothing else to do but retry the next mission in its entirety. The flow is basically, spend 20-30 mins in relative safety, furiously racing to expand while microing patrol paths on your few starting units to cover the perimeter. You start making military, start to move out, add more patrols, build walls. In the next 30-90 minutes you either lose your entire base because one zombie touched a hut for 3 seconds (no you can't stop it, just restart the mission if you see one of your buildings turn green), or you lose because the jank terrain and building clutter made it difficult to effectively wall the direction the scheduled horde came from. Rinse and repeat until you know where the resources are and where the best points to wall are. Its kinda like Dark Souls. It's not actually hard. It just feels that way because in order to learn the game you have to make mistakes, and any mistake costs you hours of time. You don't feel good when you beat it, because you basically slammed your head against a wall until you memorized everything. But unlike Dark Souls, you can't go do something else, or farm and level, or try different weapons. Honestly, the game had so much potential, but just fails catastrophically trying to enforce this 'unforgiving iron man' ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Unfortunately the devs think if you don't have the time to dedicate hours and hours on every single mission, you're just not worthy enough for their game. Nothing I've seen in this game makes me want to be worthy, I'll just go play better games.
