if you like games like Age of Empires and zombie games, you should have already bought this game yesterday. it may not have the most realistic graphics, but it's such a fun game that i'm personally grateful for the simplistic graphics. it means i can install on pretty much any computer capable of connecting to the internet and it runs like a dream. i have over 2500 hours in this game and since i bought it i have been gradually working my way up the difficulty scale. at this point, i'm at about 13% difficulty in survival mode and still struggling. yes, there are easier difficulty levels which actually make this game pretty accessible across player skill ranges. but the customisation of difficulty means that you will likely have to keep trying to actually beat this game on harder levels. replay value is absolutely through the roof.

Incredible
Sau starkes Strategiespiel. Ich bin mit Spielen wie Stronghold, Heroes of Might and Magic, Rise of Legends, Cossacs, Age of Empire etc. aufgewachsen.
This game is extremely close to being great, but there's a lot of things holding it back from being more than a solid 5/10. For starters, the regular base building, map clearing, and economy managing are fine. Not great, but fine. Satisfying in their execution and logical in their progression. Some of the units and upgrades feel like they lack purpose and it starts to feel like you're following the same basic steps for every mission, but there's decent map and scenario variety to back it up and the tech tree upgrades feel worth it. The story is nothing to write home about. It's fairly light and slightly awkwardly written. Speaking of awkward, the voice acting ranges from "good" to "they went with the first take, didn't they?" It's endearing in a hammy sort of way, but not something to buy the game for. The absolute worst part of this game, by far, are the hero missions. Each and every one is a long, unforgiving slog. You're dropped into an oftentimes campaign sized map with a single unit, thousands of zombies about, and a mission to scour the entire place for research points which you NEED TO GET in order to unlock tech to use in the main game mode. Worse still is that the objects you need to find are randomly placed, painted into the background, and only occasionally flash to show you they can be interacted with. This means spending ten to twenty minutes agonizingly kiting dozens of zombies with what is effectively a slightly more powerful basic soldier unit, pixel hunting for research points, and only occasionally being given some respite when the game decides to throw you a few basic unit squaddies mid mission. It's the worst and most poorly thought out part of the campaign mode, and I would understand if it completely turns some people off to the game.
