Hailed as one of the largest, longest and most meticulously detailed turn-based JRPG series of all time, this first chapter in the ongoing Trails saga sets the stage for what's quickly become Ys developer Nihon Falcom's most popular and best-selling franchise in their entire 30+ year history.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Sep 3 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is a perfect game. I do not see a single flaw. Every single NPC and is given so much care and there's actual in game books explaining the lore and collectible novels that give you an insight to the world of this game. The gameplay is really fun, and customisable where you can express your preferred playstyle and the turn break system keeps it exciting. I now listen to falcoms music on the daily and this games battle theme is one of my favorites (do check out the arranged version of it for the goosebumps). And finally the story, while on the surface level a simple coming off age narrative, with adventure, mystery and romance, ends up setting the scene for one of the insane journeys you'll ever go on, with it's extremely likeable cast of characters. 10/10 nothing more to be said.
Prologue feels kind of slow but it just gets immensely better from there on (specially that final chapter)

jrpg 2 lançou e eu não fiquei sabendo
Amazing game, but if you are getting into Trails I would recommend the the remake over this, not because this is bad, but because the remake is insanely good.
best series ever, made me fail my college courses
I've Always Loved You
very good 40 hour long prologue

This is my first time getting acquinted with the universe of Trails games and I genuinely end up loving every bit of the first entry of Trails in the sky trilogy. I am an avid JRPG fan, but at the same time i have my own preferences and tastes in such games. For example, there are many different reasons why I don't like most of the final fantasy and dragon quest games, wheather it is because of aesthetics or the story writing. So, where such games fail to satisfy my tastes - trails in the sky First Chapter on the other hand happens to completely nail these points. Story: I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed being in this world. It feels so similar to our world, yet it is a much older time period. Technology in this universe grounds us a little bit to our current world with a bit of fantasy sprinkle on top, while everything that seems to be outdated provides a very nostalgic feel. The world that is less complicated; relationships that are built upon human interactions, which makes you want to pay more attention to every bit of a sentence that characters deliver - such elements make the story kind of of a softcore type story. But even with the story being much more of a simple kind than the nowadays stories, it still manages to deliver that one hidden secret, that one hidden plot twist in a way that puts this game right there on top, on the pinnacle among the greatest stories ever told in Japanese Role Playing Game genre. P.S. I know I said that that the story is a chill one, but do not mistake this statement and expect the story being boring. There are still weird and interesting occurances happening during the whole main story and all these incidents are bulding up to something greater. Just take your time and don't expect a non-stop action adventure in the first game of this trilogy. Art style: Personally, I liked a lot that this game has pretty much the same asthetics as older rune factory games. Like, it is 2D-3D game BUT with drawn faces so you can see the expressions of the characters' faces and you can understand their emotions more clearly than for example in octopath traveller type games. Everyone who debates regarding whether buying the remake or original one - I recommened this one all the way. They simply don't make these kind of games anymore. Game industry still makes the 2D ones but to my knoweledge there isn't a single developer left who still makes this superior style for some reason. It is basically a relic at this point. Music: Music is awesome. It suits the world so much and again, it is very softcore'ish. As person who likes a lot emotional music I find it's really good, but also there some more complicated tracks closer to the end and they are great too. Gameplay: Don't expect to much here. Once you figure out how it works it can get boring. For the last mission I just equipped everyone with White Gehenna. The only thing I regret is not having everyone with Action 3 quartz, because it matters a lot in the end. Complains: After fighting the last boss my game closed on its own and of course I didn't even have chance to save because I was in a cutscene. I had to redo the whole boss fight which takes quite some time. I legitimately crashed out so hard though. I guess it comes with the game being a very old one. Anyway, these blacked out screen windows happen once or twice during your game after you open it again, my advice: when that happenes, don't press any buttons and wait until it is back to normal. (Maybe it was because I was playing it on the laptop.) The other complain - i hate side quests in this game, but all these people who you help will be in the second game and they will remmember that you helped them and give you a unique dialog, so these quests kind of pay off in the end. Not to mention you need to raise your rank too for rewards.
JRPG que se toma su tiempo, pero que la historia hace que merezca la pena
