I have played through this game on the PS3 when it originally came out, pretty sure the remaster at some point on the PS4, and this version on the PS5. I figured why not buy it again? It looks great, at 4k and settings cranked it really puts my system to work. Had to use the good ol' DLSS to get something above 30fps, sure I could just play it in 1440p, but I don't want to. Only real complaint is some weird visuals mostly related to lighting. Tess would get weird blocky shadows or light patterns on her, cockroaches would seem to be lit up in dark areas. Nothing major but it is a bit distracting, and definitely not an issue on the PS5. Oh and sometimes at just the right angle parts of buildings, like walls on the other side of the room, would just vanish.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 30: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Callus não merecia aquele fim
I've been beta testing Sony's first-party games on my PS5 Pro for years. Unfortunately, Sony's decision to phase out the physical disc drive shows that greed has no limits. This will be my last PlayStation generation. I won't support a digital-only future. I know it sounds ironic because I also buy digital games on PC. But on PC, I have a choice. I can buy games from different stores that compete on price. On PlayStation, Sony controls the entire digital storefront, and that's exactly why physical discs still matter.
Mienteme Joel, mienteme
Great game trapped in a technically compromised port. - The game refuses to work properly with my soundcard, creating distorted audio throughout. My workaround was to switch to the in-game audio setting from the default "spatial" to "traditional," setting Audio latency to "High" and using 5.1 instead of the full 7.1. I still had to restart the machine BEFORE EVERY session though, this is ridiculous and never had this bad of an experience with a game before. - The shader build process takes 30–40 minutes, during which the CPU is capped at 100%, making the machine completely unusable. This is only required after every driver update, but the experience is deeply unpleasant since your PC is effectively held hostage for half an hour. - Crashes and the game freezing before a cutscene are not as common in 2026 but, I had at least 4 times where I had to Alt+F4 because the game either froze or got stuck. As most PS games on PC, wait for a sale, not worth the full price. Then make sure your drivers are up to date before starting the game and prepare to let your PC sit idle for 30-40 minutes while shaders compile (maybe more or less depending on your machine).
