Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance is not just a game; it's an adrenaline-fueled journey where your strategic prowess decides the fate of mankind against the machines. After the machines took over, the greatest threats may not come from the machines but rather from other human survivors.

hard but rewarding gameplay
Potential to be a GREAT game. Campaign sucks: random events always spawning, have to choose loadout pre-battle, units don't do what you command. They might go where you tell them and they may just randomly stop and stand around. With an attack move order sometimes they just run right by enemies shooting at them. Humvees drive slower than infantry walks, which is stupid. More frustrating than fun. Sometimes after selecting the units to take into battle, the game says NAH-We're going to give you random units you cant even use instead.

Every market we collect.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Great game. The mechanics are great and fun to play. I played this cos I want a different RTT/RTS type of game from the ww2 / cold war i had been playing. And it was different after 30 odd hours the downside was the lack of terminator action, more human vs human. And I went to the game for something different. But I will come back to it and finish the campaign. But overall I do recommend it. Got my value for money from it.
enjoyed it
5 star
could be better, much better but its good enough still.
Okay TL,DR 8.0 lost 1 point(9.0) due to engine technical stuff and lack of some quality of life. Finished campaign on hard(50% dmg taken,90% supply cost, more enemies) with all optional missions in 60 hours but took my time and likely around 10 hours spent on redoing some stuff. Likely 5 hours spent on just army manegement,eg what weapons to equip, who to sell and traveling back with your units to the exit. Game is slower paced. PROS: Game is on the more realistic side of RTS game as you need to manege your ammo, fuel, supplies you can technically can get softlocked in the campaign so have some backup manual saves just in case. You can and should scavenge and sell vechiles. Every unit has a daily supply cost when you are traveling on the word map so you can not have a "way too big army". Almost every unit carries over you can have your first mission infrantry squad get to the final mission if they survive. As long as 1 soldier in the squad survives whole squad can be fully replenished otherwise you lose your gathered exp, trained perks etc. Usually you do not want to risk too damaged veteran squads,or damaged vechiles out of spare parts so usually they are "combat ineffective" and chill out. Units gain exp very slowly and can get trained in some trainings(cost godwill) eg.Can now use emp grenades, hacking, detect&disarm enemy mines, can now drive tanks, fire 20% faster, have more hp but slower movement, more ammo,1 more soldier in the squad etc. (Almost none of my early units reached the max lvl 5 by the end.) Few Hero units are also in the game IF they survive they sometimes have extra options for missions. Eg.Kondo and Flinch can hack Legion facility production. Time to kill is fast but accuracy is often low. Most light vechiles can die in 1 shot from an ATGM or Recoilles rifle on realistic difficulty.(100% dmg taken just like the enemy). Foot Soldiers prone in grass+ smoke grenades or inside "strong" houses can usually last for long, but out in the open with no obstruction from close range againts a close range minigun Humwee The whole squad can die in 2 seconds. There is high lvl of Vechile and foot soldier customalisation. Lots of choices how you customise your army. Enemy also has finite ammo and in rare cases can run out. Eg.Smoke baiting out enemy ATGM missiles can be viable. MOST weapon "upgrades" are not always "clearly better" game has ton of side grade upgrades with pros and cons. Armor kits always increase fuel use and decrease speed. Your choices matter and can sometimes influence what missions you can get or have an effect later. Eg.You disobeyed an order and a bounty hunter comes after you in a another mission. You fled againts Legion now you get a different mission. You paid supplies to a guy and now you can travel there faster before the other faction does. You detonated the base so the enemy has less reinforcements in the next mission. Some choices only affect your army eg.More supplies or more upgrades or more Vechiles. Everything is voice acted and the story is good. You can pause time and give out orders. CONS: I have this game installed on a Nvme SSD re-loading times are likely 10-20 seconds. Yes I quick loaded a lot,so slow load times are a bad thing.(Tempest Rising on max settings re-loads in 2 seconds.) This game also has RNG especially when it comes to high supply ammo like TOW missiles and ATGM. Eg.I had a standing still (disabled by AT mine) enemy Legion tank 5 out of 6 ATGM missiles missed him and he also missed one time but that miss accidently killed my truck 50 meter away from his max firing range,2 hits destroyed the gun on my AT tank who missed all his shots, reloaded save 2 ATGM missiles all hit the tank from the side(house ambush) and had its gun destroyed then taken care of with no issues. No other thing was changed just RNG. Projectiles are simulated and even if they "miss" they can still hit something so bunching up units is usually not a good idea. Enemy arty seems to know where your units are once you are detected even if you go out of sight and again Arty shells are VERY RNG thankfully ammo can run out.Bad RNG can 1 hit kill you. Your Arty firing is also very very RNG. Due to Engine limitation your squad can only pick up 1 special weapon in a mission EVEN if you have more slots for them.Post mission you can equip more that often costs godwill points. Game engine ONLY uses ONE CPU CORE!!!!! so I recommend capping your frames to a lower amount(60-120) any mid-end GPU will be bottlenecked by the Engine and sometimes you will lose lot of frames. I do not recommend playing without uncapped frames as the perfomance will vary extremely.(for me it was 30-1000+). Final mission seems to have lower perfomance. You can only enable or disable weapons. EG.ATGM soldier enabled will fire at a light technical you have 3 of them close by and then you use up 3 missiles(600 supply)to kill a crap vechile and then a tank comes and you are out of ammo. Same with Bradleys you likely rarely want ALL TOWs enabled at all times as it wastes ammo supply. There is NO option to only fire at tank class or combat vechile class.(Qality of life missing). Arty 155mm might kill your own units cause it fired at a nearby trash mob and hit your house 10 meters away.So usually you want them disabled. So in short you MUST micro enable, disable your higher supply cost ammo units a lot. Pathfinding is not that strong and sometimes 1-2 soldier from a bigger Squad can get stuck in geometry and can not fully enter a vechile or they die later. While projectiles are simulated and being lets say behind a house will likely help somewhat(eg.Auto cannon hits the wall not the foot soldier), Game does not have a real cover system like Company of heroes. NEUTRAL: Game looks okay I only played it on max settings 1080p.(GPU usually under 50% used 1 CPU Core maxed 120fps cap). There are not many GFX options you can choose from. You will control 50+ units in later missions so there is a lot of micro. Bunched up A-moving is VERY bad in this game you want to spread out your forces form frontlines, supply lines etc.Mining or C-4 ing some Danger Zones can often be good but tedious. Enemies usually spawn from "danger zones" overtime and they might spawn at the "wrong" time so that can be another RNG factor. You can set up spawn camps too with just a few units. There is one mission in the game where the human Bountry hunters might kill the "guarding Terminators" and it is part of YOUR objective and you are FORCED To spawn right into their spawn points so it is extreme RNG. It is RNG if they can kill the guards or not....... Or you just clear the terminators force spawn in and Bounty hunter might spawn in 1 Second later again very bad design for that mission. Fort and Midland mission could have slightly tweaked enemy spawns(more time till they spawn)or slightly more Allied Support. They are harder than the Final mission. You can not order Allied Arty to not fire sometimes they blow up your mine fields or EVEN kill your units as they miss fire an enemy moving Vechile.Yes This is VERY annoying I was forced to reload sometimes...... On almost every mission after the"end" you must leave at the exit point with ALL your units this can take 10-20 minutes on most maps enemies will still spawn slowly. Usually you want to scavenge the map post mission to get all the loot. (unsure if enemy spawn are infinite or finite). But never fond of infinite spawn in any game. Lower than hard diffs have less enemy units. In the main campaign I have found both Player and Enemy aircraft to be too rare. HK Air units have Flares so SAMs will usually RNG miss.....RNG RNG Auto cannons are the reliable counter.... While you primary battle "Legion" the terminator faction if you do optional missions for the friendly human faction you will battle a lot of human enemies for a long time for serveral missions in a row. Some missions have multiple ways to go.
