Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Fantastic in VR using UEVR!!

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 15: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is such a blast. I didn't play the original when it came out (wasn't alive yet), but I can say that this remake (remaster?) is so damn fun to play. Challenging, fun, and replayable.
An incredibly faithful recreation of the original System Shock, for better or for worse. It retains much of the charm while also having a good deal of clunkiness. Even having played the original before, I still got lost a couple of times. I'm also in two minds about the art style; it is certainly pretty, but it also makes many rooms look so visually cluttered that it's difficult to identify items. Recreating the map almost 1:1 also leads to many rooms feeling somewhat unbelievable, because they are often literal boxes with no clear "function". I absolutely hated the cyberspace segments and the final "boss fight" as well. With that said, I still thoroughly enjoyed my time with this System Shock remake. The original game was pivotal in its time for a reason. I loved how the game trusts that you'd be able to figure out what to do without pointing you directly at the objective. It does backtracking a little more elegantly than other games, in that it makes sense why you'd need to go back to X location to do X thing. I also think Nightdive managed to capture the feeling of being in an actual space station. I loved looking out the windows and just looking at Saturn in the distance, or parts of the space station I've yet to explore; I just wish the windows on the trams were slightly more transparent. The complete lack of loading screens certainly added to that feeling that the whole station is tangible. While I have a much greater liking to some popular immersive sims that came after the original (Prey 2017, Dishonored, and Deus Ex come to mind), I respect the fact that they share roots in System Shock. A must play for any Immersive Sim fan, even if at least to experience a historically significant part of gaming, especially if the controls / graphics of the original are too dated to even try.
Astoninglishy beautiful.
Save often and then save again. This is a classic and it's been to long since I played it. This is a time consuming game. I wish I could leave notes on the map which is my only gripe. Head shots are a must have skill or your going to die a lot. Progression is pretty good and shouldn't cause to many problems if you don't rush headlong into rooms or around corners. You will die or wish you had. Enjoy the game and take frequent breaks as you can get motion sickness even with the head bob off. Your weapons still bounce around.
Having played a good few of its descendants, System Shock was interesting in an archeological sense but man oh man even with this glossy remake this game feels its age. It's a whole lot of clunky combat in sprawling mazes while you constantly pull up your map to try and figure out where to go next. I appreciate a game not holding your hand and slathering the screen in waypoints and objectives, but something about System Shock is just draining to play as you navigate nearly identical corridors with respawning enemies to pick up keys and audio logs that are all variations of 'Man something weird is going on' or 'Oh no SHODAN is killing us'. I didn't finish the game. I got to the last Edward Diego boss fight, which was yet another braindead DPS race; and when I took him out after a few tries, the game spawned several dangerous enemies into his little boss arena with no warning that killed me right after. I decided I didn't care enough to finish the game because nothing about it felt rewarding enough to do so. Honestly just go play Prey instead. It's like System Shock but a better ImSim in just about every way.
