System Shock® 2 (1999)

SO MUCH better than part one in every regard. One of the greatest survival horror games of all time. It can be difficult to get into and you might be overwhelmed at first, but if you stick with it and learn, you will have one of the best experiences in video games. Here's some tips to help you get started - Resources may seem abundant at first, but are in fact VERY limited. Every item counts. - There is always a reason to consider using your melee weapon instead of going through ammunition / psi energy. - You can set your own map markers and name them after opening the map. Great for finding doors or other stuff again that you couldn't access earlier or if you just want to leave a note about some place. - Weapon-wise focus on one discipline at first and add a second one later. Depending on what you choose, keep excess ammo around for later instead of destroying it. - All technical skills (hacking, repair, maintenance, research) are important and you cannot succeed without using them. - Glass beakers can be filled with worms and turned into ammo (this becomes relevant much later in the game) - If you get stuck, read your emails again, they usually tell you what to do or where to go. - If you cannot find important key items, there is no shame in using a guide. Overall the game still holds up extremely well and is also great for different playthroughs trying various character builds.

10/10. To be honest I would give it a 8/10 because I've played the games this game inspired but that wouldn't be fair. This game deserves a 10/10 and is instrumental to the creation of iconic games such as Bioshock.

woke up on a ship everything went wrong found a weapon feels like a toy enemy shows up i panic miss every shot SHODAN starts talking i instantly lose the will to exist. inventory is a disaster i carry junk like a hobo. open random door regret it every single time. game is janky game is stressful game is great 8/10 i recommend
