I wanna say that it's good, but it's really not. If anything you can compare it to SRW games of PS2-3 era and notice that 1. Animations are worse 2. Female characters are censored 3. Gameplay mechanics are removed (combinations/transformations) 4. Some woke garbage inserted into translation (there is a mod that fixes that thank god) 5. Essential units and characters that should have been in the base game sold as DLC. 6. "Ultimate" version actually not being ultimate and you still need to buy another DLC for a complete game 7. Missing classic unit-specific music even with all the DLCs (no fire wars for Mazinkaiser for example) 8. DLC being lazy in general (OGs pilots not interacting with each other for example). So yeah, it's straight up worse than some old games, like OGs for example.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game got me to watch GaoGaiGar
Do you wanna spend countless hours doing every single side mission, front, onboard, dlc, main story and extra mission losing your sanity but in return getting the most fantastic cast of mechas and pilots together with great music?!?!?!? Then this game is for you, it is a fantastic grid turn based JRPG with an insane story. And while yes the animations are a bit lacking, they are still fun regardless to watch. Overall this game is time consuming but pretty fun to the very end. It's a huge love letter to mecha anime lovers! Believe in Getter!
Objectively, SRW30 is kind of a mid game. It's insanely simple, it has a ton of mechanics you never really have to interact with(like terrain) and is incredibly easy to break. Even on the second-highest difficulty, it won't really challenge you if you have a functioning central nervous system and more intellect than an Ocean Sunfish. But it still manages to be fun and engaging to play simply because the creators clearly loved what they were doing. It's effectively a massive piece of crossover fanfiction written by people who really loved mecha shows. It's a shame that they also loved Code Geass, but there is no such thing as an infallible human being, and I will not shame them for not wanting to kick Lelouch into a volcano because they did my boy Amuro Ray justice. There's definitely going to be a mech, pilot or both in here for everyone, and they will absolutely be written with some moments that make you go HELL YEAH, and when the finale really rolls around, if you've seen some mecha shows that weren't trash, you're going to recognize a lot of things and it's going to make you grin like an idiot, because they NAILED it. They nailed the FEEL of it, the MOOD of it, the SOUND of it. Since the soundtrack is like 90% mecha themes, of course it owns. Do you even need to ask me? Anyway, would probably fall flat for the sort of soulless grinch that doesn't love giant robots fighting evil, but for everyone else, I'd say it's a pretty decent buy. Do consider playing on Expert or higher if you like a challenge, though. On Hard or lower you pretty much get to mash your action figures together while giggling, and on Normal or Easy, even the Shrike Team can compete. I'm sorry ladies, I love you but these mechanics really screw you over. Chill out in the lounge while I make children commit mass murder to save the world. Have a drink, get a manicure, harass the XO for being a nerd.
Look, I like Super Robot Wars 30 - but I wouldn't recommend it. If we're being frank, it's a terrible game. There's no real "tactical" choices. The maps terrains barely (if ever) have any modifiers, not that it'll matter because most of the time even on the higher difficulty settings, enemies will never actually be able to hit you. Moving and attacking them is more or less a chore because there's no real decision making behind what your next move has to be. Each map is predictable. There's an ungodly amount of extremely poorly written dialogue to parse through and "playing" the game is more convenient to just let the AI do everything unless you want the busy body work of moving everything every turn their maximum range towards the nearest thing they can attack. It's a bad tactics game. I still like it because I can use Gun X Sword mechs. But it's a bad game.
