Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

I really wanted to like this game, I really did. But after around a hundred of hours of playing it to completion, getting all possible endings, and beating the secret superboss... I just can't say I enjoyed it even in the slightest. I acknowledge that this isn't meant to be a sequel to 2, I doubt anything can top that game unless we get an actual attempt at an Octopath Traveler 3, and even then I'm doubtful, but I just have too much to dislike about this game. Working off of the gacha mobile game is a huge red flag, for one, I dislike gachas as much as the next. Even with all the gacha elements removed, the character and story writing is both lackluster and drags on too much, a vast majority of the travelers original to this game aren't even relevant and don't receive more than maybe a few cutscenes of dialogue with zero story relevance, the story itself drags on for much too long- The only thing I can give it is that the 8 traveler combat is genuinely awesome, I absolutely love it... I just wish it was actually OCTOPATH Traveler and there were 8 fully fleshed out travelers to focus on and tell the stories of without the need for a self-insert - which I feel genuinely goes against the vision of this franchise - instead of a frankly *gross* amount of travelers, most of which aren't important to the story. I tempered my expectations to be lesser than the other two games, and I still unfortunately found myself incredibly disappointed. This game just flat out doesn't have the spark the other two did: focusing on the narrative of eight well written, fleshed out characters on their journeys across Orsterra and Solistia, with what were some incredible stories that may not be 11/10 works, but still hold special places in my heart in terms of storytelling. If you are someone who played Octopath Traveler 1 and 2 and enjoyed them, I can't in good conscience recommend this game - and even if you haven't, I still wouldn't recommend it. I wanted to like it, but there's nothing aside from the combat for me TO like. It feels like a downgrade from both 1 and 2 in so many regards that I just can't enjoy this game. Here's to hoping that an Octopath Traveler 3 comes one day and is actually another evolution of the series and not a hefty step backward.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3/day in the week to Jul 30 → 4.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Largely excellent. I love the Octopath series and this is another banger. Returning to Orsterra was cool, we get some interesting new lore about the world we first met in Octopath Traveler 1. The gameplay is very similar to previous games, but with some nice changes. I like being able to use 8 characters in battle at once and consider it a fair trade for losing the ability for characters besides the MC to equip jobs. I'll always love this battle system for its' customizability and flexibility, and with so many different characters to use this time it feels almost like the teambuilding I do in Pokemon. Equipping skills is a cool substitute for losing jobs, though I wish I could get more slots to work with. The soundtrack is solid gold as is usual for this series, though they reused a bunch of songs from Octopath 1 and even a few from Octopath 2. Still plenty of original tunes to enjoy though. I wish the playable characters had more plot relevance and that the MC wasn't a silent protagonist, but they do okay with these restrictions most of the time. The Wishvale-connected characters like Stia and Phenn get much more love than the "joins you in a sidequest" guys like Macy and Viator. Townbuilding is fun but it takes a very long time for it to open up. For instance, you can't move certain important buildings like the tavern and shop until you've beaten the final boss for some reason. My biggest criticism is the dark and sad tone taken by nearly all of the main story arcs. It's especially bad in the first half, the second half pulls things back a bit in comparison (but can still get pretty darn dark). The Octopath series is no stranger to dark moments but this game goes harder on the cruelty and misery, and while they do take advantage of the tone to do interesting things that wouldn't be as effective in a lighter and softer game, I hope that if there's an Octopath 3 that it goes back to the better balance between light and dark that 1 and 2 have. Maybe I'm just salty that a couple characters I really liked got done dirty... The ending got me very emotional. Incredibly well done. Alexia best girl. The road to truth wasn't built in a day.
Alright, I have now finished this game to true ending and I can finally put my full thoughts out. And all I have to say, is that it's disappointing. This is a massive game and until you hit about 30hrs, it is absolutely rough. You don't have any money and everything is super tanky. It being based off of the mobile game is a massive killjoy for me. 95% of the story is just the mobile game without the gatcha and the remaining 5% is Whishvale building. To all OT1 & 2 player, bosses will have over 200k+ health, and at one point, even 1/2 a million. Everything is a sponge. After you hit 30-50hrs, its a joke. Everything dies so quick and then its just watching cutscenes and waiting for the story. I ended up cheating and downloading mods to speed up the grind because of how painfully slow it is. You are never meant to go past lvl 65-70, any more and levels are near impossible to gain.
Played both OT1 and OT2 and this is a great addition to the line up. Runs at a smooth 60 with no problems on steam deck too 10/10 Story 10/10 Combat 11/10 Soundtrack 10/10 Banger Game Well worth the price. GOTY so far for me!
