Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 322.75/day in the week to Jul 15 → 6.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

its pretty good although controls and graphics are dated
It is hard to overstate the influence Metal Gear Solid had and still has on the game industry. Despite using all the game elements of Metal Gear 2, along with item interaction and most of the quests and challenges, it also added a big depth to boss battles, world-building, and a deep cinematic experience. If you played MG 2 Solid Snake, then you will immediately adjust to a more modern approach of PS1 game experience. The game overall isn't difficult, but the targeting and aiming are the key elements that make it hard, as they are very raw. Yet the cinematic experience, story, environment interaction, and finding strategies for boss fights are the elements that truly make it a masterpiece of its time.
very, very cool
This is an interesting game and I can totally see how influential it was with the linear cinematic approach, coupled with great voice acting, interesting cutscenes and compelling characters. However, as somebody who played it for the first time just now (I had a PS1 and heard about it but never got to play), I just cannot recommend it to new players. The controls are atrocious, level design is pretty boring, and bosses are one of the most insane damage sponges I've ever seen. The interesting thing is that the gameplay systems are quite complex and you can do many cool things, but I just feel like the level design is not really suited for that. Not to mention that the game has lots of backtracking, some things are tricky to figure out, and a frustrating boss fight can send you back for quite some time. The plot is basically an action movie with grey morals, with some philosophical themes attached to it. To be completely honest, it feels like playing an inferior Deus Ex, so in general I would recommend to play that one first. Where the game does excel is the atmosphere, characters (not women, though -- seems to be a consistent issue for Kojima), general paranoid thriller tense vibes. Music and limited rendering area only helps that.
Ich Liebe diese Spielreihe bis heute Endlich für Steam ! Danke !!!!
