Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 102.43/day in the week to Aug 28 → 237.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Kojima at his best, Kojima at his worst. Old Snake is the best protag ever
Awesome game. After 23 hours of gametime, I finally made it through the first cutscene.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is a towering achievement in game design. It beautifully merges heavy philosophical themes with highly polished tactical action. For anyone seeking a deeply moving, blockbuster story that treats its characters and its audience with profound respect, this game remains an absolute, must-play classic.
how did kojimbo predict chatgpt and peter thiel?
Eighteen years I wanted MGS4, but I compromised. I emulated RPCS3 at 40 FPS instead.
I was able to take a shower, go to work, come back and eat dinner and there was STILL a cutscene being played
Bonkers slightly dated now story, but still amazing stuff and a mostly good pc port (although it does weird stuff like opening new windows for separate programs with some of the mind tomfoolery it does). MGS2 fried my naïve brain in ways I could not comprehend at the time. This by comparison I was mostly mentally prepared for, or perhaps just numb from world weariness now... who knows? Whatever the case, this felt like 2 parts movie to 1 part game, which won't be everyone's idea of fun. It's near impossible to appreciate any of this game unless you play the previous games first. I wasn't a fan of what happens to Otacon or his general awkwardness in this story, not to mention Kojima REALLY doesn't write any female characters well here, but it was still nice to finally see the closest thing we will probably ever get to an ending for the series... or was that Rising Revengeance?
Probably the weakest of all the mainline Metal Gear Solid titles but still one worth experiencing for the first time or revisiting for another playthrough. This is also a really good port that runs at 4K with a stable locked framerate of 60fps. It's smooth and there were no hitches, stutters or even crashes. Guns of the Patriots is a game that Hideo Kojima didn't really expect to, or want to make and it really shows. Weak stealth elements along with an abundance of needlessly long cutscenes can make this game feel an exhausting and frustrating experience. Some scenes are beyond cringeworthy and others are extremely vulgar. The gameplay is messy in places where applying perfect stealth can see enemies respawn behind you and then be alerted through no fault of your own. The initial sandbox design is then replaced with far more linear sections as the game progresses and some of the latter boss fights are totally illogical and stupid. There is also an in-game shop where you spend points earned on buying guns, items and ammo. This just diminishes any survival aspects and you can simply load up powerful weapons with hundreds of bullets at virtually no cost. Another big surprise is the lack of codec calls - the game just feels a bit soulless without this. I still think the game is worth playing at least once or revisiting and there are certainly some nice surprises along the way but this game is a glorious mess of needless nonsense and a convoluted story that feels pretentious and totally ludicrous at the same time. Definitely Kojima's weakest work to date.
