If war is the closest we get to hell on earth, it's because Earth harbours the worst of demons: humankind. In an isolated country ravaged by infighting, discover the secrets of your past and deal with the repercussions of a mysterious calamity.

About
Hell is Us is a 3rd-person action-adventure game that combines intense melee combat with the thrill of exploration. Explore a semi-open world to find answers to your questions and face mysterious creatures all along your journey.
As well as the civil war dividing the country, the region is suffering from a mysterious calamity, which has given rise to supernatural creatures that no modern weapon can defeat. Your drone and sword from a different age are your faithful allies as you cut a path through lands infested with terrifying chimeras and try to unravel the mystery of their appearance.
No map, no compass, no quest markers: following your instincts is part of the adventure. Enjoy a unique experience that uses innovative writing and level design to let you make your own decisions and follow your instincts as you explore. Your discoveries are yours alone.
Swords, spears and axes: a wide range of weapons forged specially for fighting these supernatural creatures is available. You will need to learn how to fight these monsters and use your drone wisely to stay alive.
''The central theme of Hell is Us is that human violence is a perpetual cycle fueled by human emotions and passions.'' – Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, Creative Director

Gives Silent hill, resident evil vibes, Great game but theres no hand holding. Did mot realize how much a game like this becomes more difficult without a map. Find a door, 2 hours later...find the key in a different zone....then its like where the hell does this key even go to? Difficult but fun game def worth trying

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Exceptional souls-like that focuses on investigation and exploration, more than just combat. The atmosphere and environmental storytelling are some of the best aspects of this game. Walking through a war-torn husk of a country, learning the history of violence being manufactured through unseen hands, while also seeing the effects on the everyday lives of its citizens is where Hell is Us shines. The sound and creature designs are on point - the creatures moving in unearthly ways, as well as the ear-ringing sounds that play when they are nearby, really lend credence that they are divine punishment. But this is also where the game starts to fall behind. Will low enemy variety, and combat becoming too easy within the first couple of areas, it becomes a battle of how many enemies are thrown at you, as opposed to actual skill in facing them.
An extremly well crafted exploration and investigation game. A really interesting setting and lore accompagnied by really impressive scenery. Only weakness is the lack of enemy variety. I'ts a really deep game, I recommend.
It’s a pretty unique and special game, that’s for sure. It’s definitely not your typical soulslike or RPG, and it won’t be for everyone. I tried the demo a while back and wasn’t all that impressed, to be honest, quite the opposite, I was actually pretty disappointed. But I just bought the game now, on sale, and I don’t regret it.
What did I like about it?
Very interesting and original blend of ancient or medieval times, modern technology, and a 20th-century military setting which somehow fit together well. The story and gameplay are engaging, and figuring out how and where to proceed gave me that nice, tingly feeling. Visually, it’s a banger, some locations are just wooah~ and the animations and combat are a comfy to experience. Game runs well, without any crashes.
What didn’t I like quite as much?
The enemies (they look super cool) lack variety, and there is a lot of them, from start to finish, you’re fighting the same types over and over again and it gets kinda annoying and repetitive pretty quickly, by the end, I wasn’t enjoying the combat anymore. Some locations are way too massive, and it’s very tedious to run through them, at times, it’s overwhelming for casual exploration, trying to remember where you’ve already been and where you haven’t. And the story’s ending was
a bit…underwhelming, for the buildup and hard work.

What might put you off?
The game doesn’t have standard quest marks or progress indicators and is FULL of riddles, puzzles, and heavy exploration. You won’t make any progress unless you read, observe, listen, talk to NPCs, and so on. There’s no fast travel, for areas on the map that you’ll be returning to frequently, you have to walk through them entirely and remember where everything is. At times, I’d give my entire inventory just to teleport to a checkpoint... All in all, I had a great time. I managed to unlock all the achievements on my first playthrough, and even though I had to google-up a few things, I'm glad I figured out most of the solutions on my own. I recommend taking notes and screenshots, heh~ enjoy!
This game is such a hidden gem, one of the best games I have ever played ( this is not like soulslike, its more like metrodivania mixed with tomb rider, idk even how to desribe this but its great ) + amazing story telling, interesting characters, solid cut scenes, its from begining very mysterious + outstanding level design, every location is full of quests or items, maps feel sometimes like a maze which is very good if someone enjoy good soulslikes locations + amazing visuals, games runs smooth as butter on rx 9070xt, upscaled from full hd to 4k on high + great soundtrack, I put everything on 60% volume and music with voices on 100%, what an amazing experience, its a very dark, mysterious world, kind of giving me tv show ( Dark ) vibes + great puzzles, you often need some kind of information to finish them, but its often very tricky and fun, most of them are not too hard, so u wont need a guide if u read notes + combat is not bad as people say, it is just not a dark souls game even if it looks like it
Great game, with a great story.
Enjoyed it No performance issues
Fantastic narrative, especially in todays world. Writers went Hard.
Hell is Us is a clever, mature take on the "souls-like" modern action game, with some of the core philosophies of retro games. It's a game that treats you like an adult and respects your inteligence. It has one of the greatest art directions of recent years, one that proves that graphics are compatible with style, and a perfect sound design from soundtrack to ambient and enemy sounds. Highly recommend.
