I don't recommend this game to anyone. I first played it around the time when it was released and then moved on and kind of forget about it. But I sometimes had a feeling that this game was quite nice and I should replay it one day and finish it, so I bought it recently on steam and it just sucks. Balance is way off, the AI is stupid as hell(it just doesn't expand at all and let you control the map, so you win regardless. Just defend at the beginning and that's it. Also units being fired from the trees just don't stand there and die, instead of moving to the trees to be able to see and attack the enemy). The fractions variations of units and buldings are kind of a gimmick. The interface is bad and clunky(but it may be so just my taste preferences). And this game runs very strange. I can't describe it properly, but I always have the feeling like the menu is freezing or something. It takes a couple of minutes just to save the game and then I get a message of 'connection error' and then I can't continue the damn mission. In a single player campaign. Thank you very much, developers.

So I'll start by saying I know 2 hours is not a very sufficient amount of time to review a game like this. However I like to keep most of my reviews to first impressions within the steam refund period. So is this game worth keeping beyond the first 2 hours? If you enjoy the feeling of classic real time strategy games such as the original Starcraft then I would say so. Even in my limited amount of time playing it I can say that the game does have a certain classic feel to it so that it feels familiar but also has enough of its own flair to not feel like I've already played it before. Overall it's a solidly built RTS game that I can certainly recommend getting while on sale or as part of a bundle. It's certainly not perfect but I would give it a decent 7/10.
I wanted to like this game, and I do... they put a lot of effort into the story and cinematics from the portion I saw. Unfortunately, I just couldn't play it enjoyably. This may be due to the Win11 updates, but the UI in the bottom center of the screen (where you select your building commands, etc) was non-responsive and could only be accessed by the clumsy key bindings. It was also extremely slow to load, and I'm using a high speed MVE Drive (no platters here). Worst of all, once I decided I no longer wanted to play the game, I got stuck in some weird limbo waiting over 2 minutes for it to finish shutdown and return me to the desktop... which it never did and I ultimately had to restart my PC (which took less than 20sec). That last part push me over the top and prompted this review... don't touch this title unless you like pointless waiting without satisfaction at the end.

Game controls are non intuitive and even when you remap them, controls remain contextual. So if you swap the direction arrows to WASD while you have units selected A is still the attack order key. This is silly and a slow paced, pared down command and conquer 2, style gameplay isn't enough to save it.
