The MSP grind in the endgame is tedious and ridiculous, and it made me quit the DLC for the time being. Reduce the MSP needed for Mastery Traits and it's golden.
First of all I love base game, it's not perfect but very fun and easily 9/10 for me, but adding this DLC it somehow making the base game looks mixed and imo it downgraded overall enjoyment to 7.5/10. It improves some QoL but also create new inconvenient aspect. Example: - Materials requirement is higher so the new rogue like dungeon help for better materials farm, but every currencies or materials in this game still have the same stupidly low cap(except money). so you have to micro managing it time to time. - Rogue dungeon can be afk farm, it can be toggle in menu setting to automatically move foward for each stage, but you need semi managing it, also it's feel takes way longer than normal raid afk farm and you have to manually claim the rewards. Some waste of potential points: - New boss BGM in this DLC actually an upgraded or evolved boss from the gacha game where the appearance is more manacing, but they use it here for the same reuse old dragon boss but 10x higher HP. - New upgrade to make your character to play different playstyle actually doesn't change anything much. - Too much reusing the same bosses fight for to be called "DLC". They should make all new materials drop from rogue dungeon instead, which is make more sense to find the same bosses in that dungeon. - Lastly I don't think the new rogue dungeon can be called rogue like enough. I feel like i met the same enemy again and again after running it few times, I meant, i only find goblins, dragons and naked guy at the end, and that's it. TLDR if you like base game AND "okay with more grinding" you should buy the DLC.
The illusion of content. wait for a 75% sale. Was looking forward to new enemies and bosses but turns out theres only maybe 4 new bosses in this entire expansion. lots of sidequests and grind gates. summons are not very fun to use and sort of just feel like sigils with abilities. With the many enemies and characters in the gacha game you thought they'd have a few more new bosses with interesting mechanics. The grind COULD be fun but you're basically putting ur game on auto at a certain point for enemies that are barely enjoyable to fight. worth maybe a quarter of what they're selling it for. story for this expansion is also mid and presented worse than the actual gacha game.
This is probably one of the worst expansions I've ever played. The story, which is generous to say there even is one, is just a bunch of disjointed, cobbled together cutscenes, linking events which have nothing to do with each other, while you just grind and fight ""new"" online missions, which are just bosses from the main game with their HP and Damage pumped so high until you've managed to spend like 10 hours building a character with all the new stuff, you will feel powerless against it. The "Difficulty" is just number go up mindless slop, oh wow you did 30 million damage with that combo? That was a nice... 5% of the bosses HP, and that's just mid-expansion, end game expansion we were doing 70-100 million... and it was still only like 5% of the bosses HP. You have to stack defence skills to even survive the damage, if you don't your 200k HP pool won't mean ♥♥♥♥ and you'll just get 1 shot regardless. Also most of the attacks don't put you into an invincibility frame damage mode, so you can just be stuck in the corner being pummelled by the thing shooting a consistent laser beam above you bouncing between it and the AoE's you were focused on dodging below, as area wide blasts come from all sides. USUALLY these are telegraphed well, except for 1 fight, where they aren't telegraphed at all and that one is stupid. This did not feel good, this just felt pointless, at a certain point the number just doesn't mean anything. You can clearly tell this expansion to a multiplayer action RPG was designed by devs who only know gacha mobile slop. There are a total of, like, 5 new boss fights, 1 which is brought up right at the start as "THE MECHA-GOD HAS ARRIVED EVERYONE PANIC" and then you beat it and it is only brought up once after that, at the very end, as if it was meant to be important. Out of all the new boss fights, 2 of them are reskinned dragons. They are decently fun I guess. The Beelzebub boss fight is good, I enjoyed that one. Beat it first try but it was fun and tested me on the game. But the rest is just "is your number high enough?" Also most the characters designs are awful, the artstyle is great, but the designs just... don't match the characters. "Everyone points me out in a crowd and notices me as different, calls me pretty, and makes advances on me, i HATE it so much I made a deal with The Devil to destory the world." and she is dressed to have less clothes than a stripper in summer. But that's just granblue, bad female character designs with a pretty artstyle. Now, how someone dresses shouldn't be an excuse for that behaviour, but if you have that behaviour done to you and you hate it so much you make a deal with The Devil, you will also probably wear clothes to cover yourself up so people wouldn't notice you. What a character wears should tell you as much about as a character as the words they say. And 60% of the characters here don't tell me anything. And the 30% is just "we are knight guys, we wear armour" and the last 10% is "We are buff men we don't wear armour" Anyway, I beat it all, over a week, it was boring and frustrating till I managed to grind up to the point where damage done and taken was normal and then it was *fine*, until the next grind began. I was hoping for a story expansion, not just a grindfest...
Total downgrade from the base game. Devs completely ignored what made the game interesting and fun and instead make you fight a recolor of a dragon you have already fought 999999 times just to grind for "new" sigils (damage cap sigils AGAIN but they have a fancy name like 'Midnight Shadow' (it increases your damage cap). Hopefully this DLC was made by a small team and the rest of the team is working on a sequel.
Basically fighting the same ♥♥♥♥. Got bored.
Gross 30$ asking price for essentially a character pack you may or may not want. With well over 90% of the playable content being reused, recycled, SLOP. All while locking a much needled rebalance of the game's gear systems behind this purchase. The juice just isn't worth the squeeze.
