Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; PlayStation, Epic, Nintendo publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

genuinely had so much better of an experience than remake. the cutscenes, fun, puzzles, relationship dynamics and especially the synergy attacks. that really put the meaning of teamwork into it. unlike in remake, you don't lose out on side quests if you want to continue the story. you can always come back to them when you feel like it. and the open-world was very refreshing, learning about the lore in the regions and competing in queen's blood. really overall a massive upgrade from the first part :D

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Same day: best FR #11, worst KR #43 · 13 markets collected
US · last 30 days
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 36.33/day in the week to Aug 4 → 40/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A hallow shell of what made remake so good. Endless minigames and pointless side content covering up a great story and fun moments. Janky open world that doesn't feel fun to explore at all. Hopefully the 3rd one does better
I can't recommend this game unless you are the type of gamer that can freely ignore side activities. If you can, enjoy I guess. This game was everything REMAKE INTERGRADE wasn't, and that's a bad thing. Uninteresting story, horribly optimized, boring plot points and minigames I felt forced to engage with, weird progression systems, and worst of all it overstays it's welcome with a forced and a boring open-area gameplay loop of what is essentially doing checklists for materia upgrades you'll probably never use unless instructed to by a YT overpowered guide.
Nope. I simply cannot move on from the poor customer service I have experienced with Square Enix. I feel foolish for having purchased this title. The company is a shell of its former glory. It was a gold standard for me in the past. Now. It is not. Furthermore. The lack of save file or progress continuity between the titles is jarring. My previous investment of time in the first game feels completely invalidated. Am I even playing the same original story from 1997? If they wanted to reset our progress, they should have bridged it with the story. A simple narrative explanation for the loss of our inventory during the final moments of the previous game would have sufficed. It would have made the situation plausible. Instead. It feels like an insult. All the effort came from the players. No effort was made by the developers to justify their plan. The Remake had potential. That potential dies with this game. It seems like the people working at Square Enix do not understand their own customers.
Watched a friend play it and it has too many damn minigames that take you out of the story. These devs do not respect your time.

Overall, it's a disappointing game when compared to the thrill I got from playing the original FF7. I hate the action combat. Many of the mini games were tedious. Several boss fights had insane difficulty compared to the rest of the game. That final boss fight with 25 phases, no moment for a break, unskippable cutscenes, no chance to save materia changes, etc. made it a super frustrating way to finish the game and definitely pushed me towards the negative review. The game has some decent moments, but it's ruined by all the headaches. How many slow-walking scenes does a game need? Even in the final moments, I was being forced to slowly walk around.
