Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut

Deadly Premonition is an interesting game. I never watched Twin Peaks, so I'm sure I missed a ton of references. In any case, the story is quite unique and the banter among characters was almost always funny or enjoyable. I played only to experience the story since so many people have loved this game over the years. The gameplay itself is rather basic and boring with little variety and there are several times where the games seems to be padding out the runtime through making you fight the same special enemies over and over in several back to back long hallways. One egregious section towards the end has you running around town, watch a cutscene, then run around town and repeat this about a dozen times before moving on. The gunplay and cars both feel off. Almost floaty. And there is a lot of driving from place to place in this game. I played this blind and missed a lot of little tips that I discovered as I played which would have been great to know up front. Like that there is fast travel, but only if you complete a specific sidequest. Or that smoking can be used to pass time without it having to be in 3 hour increments (from sleeping). I found myself getting tired of the game around the halfway point, but I pushed through. Surprisingly, after finishing the game I want to replay it already, albeit with a sidequest guide. But still there is something here beneath all the odd design choices and frustrations I had. I would not recommend this to most people though. You will probably be better off watching a Let's Play or Video Essay about the game. You could try the game first, but given the Steam achievement stats that less than 10% of players make it past the first few hours of the game, that likely won't go well for you. Also it is worth noting that you will likely encounter game breaking bugs and may need to download DPFix or use other workarounds to be able to finish the game. This was the case for me.

un juego roto por donde lo veas, pero sacando eso, si no te molesta que crashee 700 veces, se te corrompan tus partidas en ciertas partes del juego, que tenga una jugabilidad tosca y que solo puedas jugar a 720p, entonces este es el juego ideal para vos... una historia re flashera con momentos random dignos de un juego japones de los 2010s, tambien que el mismo tiene influencias a la serie de David Lynch (QEPD): Twin Peaks. mi recomendación: si lo ven de oferta a un precio baratisimo, comprenlo y jueguenlo si quieren (pagar 12 dolares por este juego en steam no lo vale, solo a un precio bajo o cuando esté en oferta como dije antes). en todo caso, emulenlo o jueguen las versiones de XBOX 360 o la Director´s Cut de PS3 (que seria la opción mas sugerida), pero si quieren intentar jugar la version de PC, les dejo una guia que hice hace un tiempo para los que quieran darle una oportunidad: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3210724653

Twin peaks meets Yakuza, If that sounds like fun, go play it. I'm enjoying every damn second.

I paid 1.24$ for this puppy, it said not compatible for the deck and it means it. I made it through the opening cinematic and it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sweet I’m gonna have to get for the switch smh
