Plays Like a bit like Stellar Blade and Nier. Is it the best 10/10 new hype thing no, no it's not what it is a a pretty solid action adventure game with a new slight twist including an action command slowdown a la final fantasy remake command with your animal companion. I rate this a solid 7-8/10 and put it at recommended because its a good game from a studio know for churning out pokemon slop for the last decade and i hope to encourage the massive upgrade from the last few pokemon games.

I really wish I could recommend this game, I really do. I am not sure I'd recommend buying this even at a deep discount. This game had a lot of potential, a lot of good ideas, but the execution of every single system is just completely broken. The story has a decent setup. It is obviously going for a bit of a Nier vibe, and with some better writing it maybe could have been good. But as it is, it is really bad. The game spends 10 chapters being vague, repeating a lot of vague dialogue over and over again in extremely stilted cutscenes (both in terms of animation and dialogue delivery), then you have one chapter where you just hold forward to walk and open doors while the entire lore of the game is dumped on you. Then right after that you go into the final chapter where even more lore is dumped on you. It becomes extremely tedious. The combat is extremely underwhelming. The game has a variety of weapons and skills for both Emma and Koo but none of it really matters. You just need the sword which has the element that the boss is weak to (all swords have the same base damage, they just differ in the elemental damage they do). If you want. It doesn't really matter cause even without upgrading much, you will easily 2-3 hit bosses with your full combo by the end of the game. That is, if you can get a full combo in since the bosses just hit once or twice, you parry them and then they run away. And then they repeat the same combo and run away. Because each boss has 1 or 2 attack combos at most and that is that. Combat soon loses all sense of strategy and devolves into chasing the boss around, parrying to fill your entanglement gauge, popping it to slow down time and then unleashing your full combo which will, if everything hits including the Finisher, take down roughly 50-60% of boss health. Speaking of bosses, there are 4 or 5 of them in the whole game and you will fight each at least 4 times, alongside the maybe 7 different enemy types in the whole game. The enemy variety is truly abysmal for a game like this. The semi open world is a decent idea, with exploration fuelled by optional mini bosses (just basic enemies with more health) and cookbooks and skillbooks. Cooking would matter, if the bonuses for eating food weren't 0,00...001% stat increases. It feels so pointless collecting recipes and ingredients just to get a meal that gives you a minimal bonus WITH the first time use bonus. After eating a recipe for the first time, there is almost no point eating it again as the bonuses are so inconsequential. The music again tries to go for the Nier vibe but it just doesn't land. It doesn't manage to capture any real emotion, instead it feels very bland and shallow, like it is screaming "FEEL THIS EMOTION" instead of actually making you feel said emotion. The optimization of the game is spectacularly bad and appears to be getting worse with every patch. On release the game worked fine on my rig, stable 30FPS at 1080p medium settings. After the recent patch that introduced DLSS to the game, I now need DLSS on Performance mode to get a stable 30FPS at 1080p low settings. And opening the skill menu brings the FPS down to 15 and making my PC sound like a jet engine. The power of Unreal Engine. I am very negative because I think underneath all the extremely bad and bland content, there is a hint of a good game. I really wanted to find something redeeming in it, something to grasp onto that will make me give that "get at super deep discount" review. But I just can't.
Beast of Reincarnation is a game I genuinely enjoyed overall, even if it has some rough edges. The combat system is easily the highlight for me: the different skills, arrows, bolts and simple-but-satisfying combos feel great to use and kept me engaged throughout the whole game. The story itself is actually very interesting, and the worldbuilding is fantastic. The mix of post‑apocalyptic, medieval and fantasy elements creates a setting that really pulled me in. But the way the story is told… that’s where the game lost me a bit. Every character feels strangely emotionless, the cutscenes lack energy or inspiration, and after a while I honestly found myself zoning out during the long dialogue sections. It’s a shame, because the underlying story is good — it just isn’t presented in a way that keeps you awake. The maps also feel a bit lifeless, and the enemy variety is unfortunately very limited. Small spoiler warning:
One thing that frustrated me a lot is how boss fights sometimes end. You beat a boss fair and square, get its HP to zero, and then a cutscene plays where your character suddenly gets destroyed as if the fight never happened. This happens more than once and really kills the sense of achievement.
In the end, I think this game deserves a neutral rating — something between “recommended” and “not recommended”. I truly hope the developers keep going, don’t lose motivation, and maybe address these issues in a future installment, because the foundation here is genuinely strong.
I don't care what anyways says this game is great and yes, I beat it, but if you feel it might not be for you, wait for a sale and when you play do not give up in the first few chapters. Give it a good chance; also, by the time you play, some things might be fixed, and it might be even better. another thing is the game ran great for me
I mainly bought Beast of Reincarnation because I was curious to see what Game Freak could do outside of Pokémon and Nintendo. Honestly, I came in without many expectations, and after playing it for a bit, I'd say the game is just fine. It's not amazing, but it's definitely not bad either. If you enjoy games like NieR: Automata or Stellar Blade, you'll probably find something to like here. The gameplay is fun, the combat feels satisfying, and I especially enjoyed the music. The soundtrack does a great job setting the atmosphere and was easily one of my favorite parts of the game. That said, I did run into a pretty annoying technical issue. Every time I parry, my game has a chance to crash, which really sucks since parrying is such an important mechanic. Hopefully that's something that gets fixed. I've only played for about an hour, but one thing that already stood out to me is that the enemies are starting to feel repetitive. Maybe the game introduces more variety later on, but it's something I noticed surprisingly early. Overall, Beast of Reincarnation is an okay game. It has enjoyable combat, good music, and some interesting ideas, but it hasn't done enough to really stand out for me yet. I mainly wanted to see what Game Freak could make outside of Pokémon, and while it didn't blow me away, I don't regret giving it a chance. It was worth satisfying my curiosity.
SPOILERS BELOW! The game overall was decent, I finished the game in about 18 hours. It would have taken longer if I did not give up on exploring every level. Gameplay was good, but that is when you are actually able to play the game... Probably half or more than half of the time spent in game was sitting through an UNBEARABLE amount of cutscenes that you CANNOT SKIP. Most of the cutscenes are not needed, every little bit of dialogue that could be given to you, in game walking around, was blocked by a dedicated cutscene. I was not annoyed at it at first, quickly changed by Chapter 3 (out of 12 chapters). I found myself clicking pause to try to skip but ended up making it just a little bit longer by pausing. You CAN somewhat breeze through them if you spam buttons but some would not even advance. The enemies are meh, cool at first but there is a lot of reused enemy types with maybe 1-2 new moves, but that is somewhat rare. Just a cycle of go to an area, get to the boss, MORE CUTSCENES, onto the next area. Rinse and repeat until you get to the very lack luster boss that has been hyped up as the hardest fight the entire game. You are telling me that the little singing boy is the final boss???? The whole time it was eluded that Emma (the MC) or Violet (side character) was going to be the big bad at the end. Kind of a let down for all the "hype" (if you wanna call it that). Koo, the dog, was great for the game. Same deal. Eluded that eventually the dog will be able to speak with you if you progress through. Does not happen. But the abilities were decent, found myself sticking to 3-4 abilities while the rest were boring and weak. Game overall was meh 5.5/10. Too many cutscenes, reused enemies, and the exploring became tedious. Not worth $50ish, maybe $30 at most. That being said, the game was fun when you actually got to play it. So, buy at own risk and be prepared for a movie length film in boring cutscenes.
Euer Gluecksbaron
trash
The game is good, I don't know why there's so much negative criticism. It's fun, the controls are responsive, the optimization is decent, and the story is reasonably engaging. It's not a 10/10, but it's worth it.
