I picked this up when it was 50% off, because they are apparently in the process of doing a major rework of the entire game to address player feedback, and I was curious. The first of a series of big updates came out last month, apparently. I played the first 45 turns, and yeah, it needs... a lot more work. It's polished and very pretty, but the gameplay is slooooooooow and kind of dull. At the *beginning*, where 4X games are typically at their best. You move your Scouts around and reveal new regions, and the Scouts move super slow (one region per turn), and then the delayed gratification of the we-go system, where you don't reveal new terrain until the following turn, makes it feel even slower. The Scouts uncover region after region and slowly reveal a map that is absolutely beautiful, but also kind of empty and uninteresting. You find a ton of supply caches, which I guess are this game's version of a goodie hut. Every one of them contains some random assortment of goods, but I have no clue what any of the goods are used for, and the caches are so plentiful that you quickly stop caring. It actually reminds me of the exploration in the Galactic Civilizations games, where you are scooting around space picking up an endless stream of uninteresting scrap and random bits and bobs that are just floating around for some reason, and it quickly starts to feel like you are doing chores, like someone sentenced to community service picking up trash on the side of the road. There is also a sparse scattering of resources around the map, but it's not immediately clear what any of them are good for. Mousing over many of them pops up an unlabeled flowchart diagram that presumably tells you how they can be used in crafting, but only if you are already intimately familiar with the game and can identify all of its one billion goods and materials by icon alone. They all feed into the game's complex crafting system, presumably, where you harvest raw materials and turn them into goods that can boost city growth or production, or that are sometimes required to build wonders or other things. But there are so many different goods, and so many different buildings and improvements needed to churn them out, and the path to making anything or getting anywhere is so slow and laborious, it makes my eyes glaze over. It's like someone looked at Civ and was like "This game needs 1,000% more micromanagement and much slower pacing." Just putting a Spearman in my starting town was a weirdly complicated ritual of a) building the unit, b) assembling it into an army or squad or formation or whatever they called it, c) mustering it into the town, which takes several turns. Note that the mustering is a separate step that you have to go through after the unit has already been built. And I'm like can I just have my spearman already? I guess we'll see where their revisions and updates take it, but I'm not sure there's a game worth salvaging here.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Ich liebe einfach dieses sehr hübsche Spiel.
For those who enjoy Civilization, ARA will feel familiar yet fresh. The added pressure of keeping your civilization relevant from era to era is fun and keeps the momentum of the game going. On another note, I play on a ultrawide screen and love the format.
ARA is a 7/10 civ like game. It is fun if you like micro, but it needs A LOT of work, a lot of rebalancing and fixes before it gets to an 8. Hopefully the devs tackle it in due time but for now it's just middle of the pack.
Forget what you know about 4X games; this is an Economic Sim in a historical trench coat. If you come into Ara expecting Civ 7, you’ll be disappointed. But if you come into it wanting the complexity of Anno 1800 or Victoria mixed with grand strategy, you’ll be addicted. The Good: The Crafting Loop: Managing production chains—from grain to flour to bread to keep your citizens happy—is incredibly satisfying. Stunning Scale: The "living world" is real. You can zoom from a satellite view all the way down to individual citizens walking through your town squares. v2.0 Improvements: The Revolutions update finally fixed the tedious micromanagement with the "AI Shop Owners" and quotas. It’s much smoother now. The Bad: Warfare is Mid: Combat is still mostly about numbers and formations; it lacks the tactical "crunch" of other strategy games. Steep Learning Curve: Even with the better tutorials, the math behind "Prestige" can feel opaque. Verdict: A refreshing alternative to the standard 4X formula. It’s finally the game it was promised to be at launch.
Version 1.4 has reduced micromanagement, thus created a more pleasant game experience. the difficulty sliders make the game more flexible and enjoyable. The AI competitors are interesting.
Very good game, just a few glitches. Like building menu and crafting lists become never ending long at the end of the game. Combat videos become Benny Hill show if you have more than 5 units. (They are running around and around.... or moving backward....especially cavalry can do that....or just died and slipping towards enemy line.....very weird, indeed). Maybe units can get also slots for crafted equipment, like scope, etc…..just an idea…. Also, just at the end of the last era, strange combat animation is more and more frequent. The died flat enemy horses also sliding on the ground to your line. Enemy with axes overrun your tanks. Enemy swordman fighting against your modern AK47 infantry with great success. Enemy cavalry perfect in riding upside down. Etc.
I was really excited about this game but it feels completely different than the screenshots and videos. Very confusing to get started, especially the UI. I liked the 'quests' and the more narrative parts but in the end was too frustrating to stick with. Why does the opposing army have 15 strength when I have 3 and defending? Why do my units teleport where I want them to go and how many turns does it take to get there? There also feels to be a disconnect with managing an empire and then needing to micromanage crafting jewelry or baskets as an example. Combat and deploying forces also extremely frustrating.
dünya tarihi boyunca 1-2 yüzyıl bile tam bulunamayan sözde uygarlıklar, dönem karakterleri bulunup en az 2000 yıl boyunca dünyanın çeşitli yerlerinde bulunan Türklerin herhangi bir dönemindeki hükümdarı bulunmaması ,kasıtlı bir şey değilse şayet kesinlikle oyun yapımcıların tarih bilgisinin aşırı zayıf olmasının kanıtı
What sets Ara: History Untold apart is its balance of complexity and accessibility. Hardcore strategy enthusiasts will revel in its multi-layered systems, but newcomers will find its streamlined interface and robust tutorial system welcoming. The game does a fantastic job of gradually introducing mechanics, ensuring players are never overwhelmed. The decision-making in Ara feels meaningful, with every choice—whether political, economic, or military—having tangible consequences. Do you invest in cultural advancements to solidify your legacy, or focus on military might to dominate your rivals? The game encourages experimentation, with diverse methods of handling war, economy, religion, and culture.
