Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.57/day in the week to Aug 14 → 4.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
The game is really good. Great even. If you have fun playing Yakuza games you will most likely enjoy this. It's a lower budget Gaiden title and it definitely shows, but the remake of 3 is well done and the Dark Ties side game, though short, is very fun as well. There's a lot of content to be had here, and I think it's worth full price if you love these games. If not, just wait for a sale. No big. That concludes my review of the game itself, and the rest of this review will be a rant about the once-great but now insufferable fanbase of Yakuza and how it's turned in to a parody of the terminally online, hate-fueled stan communities that plague the modern internet. You'll notice a trend in the negative Steam reviews. A few have salient criticism about the game itself, but most are cringey whiners pretending to fight a disingenuous culture war. Most of the negative reviews are complaining about the sex offender casting, the de-listing of the original Y3, or pining for the days of their golden boy Nagoshi (who, side note, just wasted 5 years and tens of millions of dollars making a basic looking Yakuza clone that still didn't even have a playable build before getting cancelled after he asked for 44 million more dollars). These negative reviews, of course, all have dozens upon dozens of hours played in Kiwami 3, showing a lack of any real conviction and that they don't actually care about any of these issues they repeat ad nauseum. This is a series whose fans still play the hell out of all of these games, but b**ch about them incessantly and pretend like it's because they're fighting for some abstract greater good. It's exhausting. The revisionist history that's sprung up around the original Yakuza 3 is hilarious. Up until even 6 months ago, it was agreed that it was the black sheep of the series. The hardest to get through. The most frustrating. Everyone rushed through it to get to the better games. But now suddenly since the most vocal section of the fanbase has collectively decided that "anything after Like a Dragon sucks, actually", it's a precious baby that must be protected at all costs. Compared to Kiwami 3, it's an objectively broken mess and anyone saying it's somehow better than the remake loses any credibility immediately. Everyone suddenly cares about a retcon that ultimately is not a big deal. They lack any kind of imagination, like the possibility of anything playing out differently in future remakes breaks their brain. They clutch their pearls and act like this series is some high art that shan't be touched. I assure you: It is not. It is a melodramatic Japanese crime drama with the goofiest s**t imaginable and it has been this way for decades. Things get changed, retconned, and re-made constantly and always have, dating back to even the earliest entries. Get over it, this isn't Shakespeare. I'm begging. Pleading. If you hate what Yakuza is now, either re-evaluate what you THINK it should be, or just stop. Stop playing. Play any of the other thousands of games out there. But I already know you won't. It's only a matter of time before the people throwing their last shred of hype behind Stranger than Heaven turn on it and say that actually... it sucks too! They'll then log 90+ hours and post their "Not Recommended" review about how great Yakuza used to be and how much RGG is ruining their life while continuing to be sucked ever downward in to an eternally miserable vortex of their own making.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 6: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I won't speak for the story, as i think there's already enough controversy as it is. My main concern for this review is the combat which is...uuuuh weird? i mean it's definitely a step up from the original yakuza 3 combat which was hella bad but also rewarding sometimes(?) it's hard to describe it. What i can describe tho is the general vibe of this game combat, and that it's not good. All enemies in this game have hyperarmor, like constant hyperarmor, which alone isn't a problem per se, but the fact that EVERY boss in this game has that only one gimmick and nothin else really speaks for itself. Not only that but all bosses have the same HP, like fr. The only boss that has a different treatment on this is Amon, but it's a secret boss and still, he has the same HP as everyone else, but just takes longer to beat since he's a gimmick boss and thus he's a bullet sponge. Overall in terms of combat this game is a really big stepdown from its other predecessors, and Kiryu ryukyu style doesn't really make a big trade off either (Also why did they remove the possibility to ungrab yourself from an eneymy grab?? not only that but the only way to have some sorta of defense against grabs is by getting an upgrade from the skill tree, which takes time because it's one of the latests skills you can get and it takes a bit of grinding to get there. Not only that but against bosses grabs it's completely useless and doesn't work, so you get damaged eitherway). TLDR: Too much hyper armor in my john kiwami 3
The game is excellent and an improvement on the original in every way.
Говно.
For every great improvement over the original they add some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ back in. Def wait for it to be under 20 bucks.
Holy ♥♥♥♥ just please play og, ps3 if possible wtf were they thinking. MAYBE play Dark Ties through alternative means but skip the last part of the ending lol.
Because I love this series, I gotta just say that this is not it. I hope that this is not the new trend. The only thing I saw potential in is how much they tried to make improvements to the combat flow, but its just one step forward and like 20 steps back. I don't even love the original Yakuza 3 like that, but I cannot recommend this over the OG cause this just almost ♥♥♥♥♥ with everything that I did enjoy from the OG. Please do better man.
You should play this one first and then go backwards until you reach ninja gaiden
