Ok. So this title is pretty different to the first game, and personally I think that this is the better game overall. Yes the scope is smaller, but that allows a Wood League RTS-player to keep up with what is happening. Plus you cannot just build a deathball like in the first game. The game isn't flawless though and some of the missions are really annoying with way too tough bosses and you having to keep up with tons of things happening at once. But overall I liked the game.
Loved it. Quite different from the first one. Not a Base Building RTS. Missions are quite cool and some are hard Nice that you can take your save from the main game to the extension. It's a tactics RPG with a bit of RPG with item dropping.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II – Anniversary Edition is a tactical real-time strategy game that emphasizes squad-based combat, tight encounters, and RPG-style progression rather than traditional base-building. Set in the grim darkness of the far future, it focuses on small, elite Space Marine teams deployed across hostile worlds to defend the sub-sector from Orks, Eldar, and Tyranid swarms. The Anniversary Edition preserves the original design while refining performance and presentation. The campaign is structured around a series of missions that blend tactical objectives with character development. Players control a handful of specialized squads, each with distinct battlefield roles. Progression comes through leveling, equipping wargear, and unlocking abilities, creating a sense of growth that reinforces the importance of each unit. The narrative unfolds through briefing sequences and combat encounters, tying personal arcs to sector-wide threats. Combat prioritizes positioning, cover usage, and skill timing. Instead of amassing large armies, players rely on coordinated abilities such as suppression, grenades, jump assaults, and defensive stances. This smaller scale generates intense skirmishes where decisions carry significant weight. Enemy factions push back with their own mechanics—Orks overwhelm, Eldar strike with precision, and Tyranids swarm relentlessly. Mission design provides strong variety. Some maps are fast-paced strike operations, while others require careful clearing of entrenched positions or defensive stands against incoming waves. Optional objectives, rare loot, and performance ratings add further incentive to replay missions. The structure encourages experimentation with squad loadouts and ability combinations. Cooperative play enhances the experience. Two players can control different squads in the campaign, creating tactical synergy and increasing replay value. This mode highlights the game’s strategic layers as players coordinate movement, manage aggro, and combine support abilities to handle tougher encounters more efficiently. Visual and audio elements reinforce the Warhammer 40,000 atmosphere. Detailed armor, brutal animations, and environmental effects capture the setting’s harsh tone. Voice acting and combat sounds add weight to every engagement, while the soundtrack blends militaristic themes with darker ambient tracks. The Anniversary Edition benefits from improved performance, making the presentation smoother overall. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II – Anniversary Edition remains a standout entry in the RTS genre due to its emphasis on squad tactics, progression, and character-driven missions. Its shift away from base-building creates a focused, intense experience built around battlefield control and decisive action. For players seeking a tactical interpretation of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, it continues to deliver a compelling and well-balanced campaign.
Dawn of War II is a strong squad-based RTS that holds up well and still looks good. I didn't run into any bugs or pathing issues as I did in the first Dawn of War games. There may be no base building, but the RPG-lite elements with gear management and leveling up to unlock combat abilities offer a nice feeling of depth. The narrative and voice acting feel better here than in the previous games and there's a lot of dialog to immerse you into the story and characters.
While I generally enjoy the game, its basically the same 5 maps over and over again, and I remember why I didnt enjoy it the first time around, should of kept it as an RTS instead of a wierd RPG. its worth buying for cheap however.
