About

Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts have peculiar jobs: They give people another chance to live, all the way from the very beginning... but only in their patients' heads.

Due to the severity of the operation, the new life becomes the last thing the patients remember before drawing their last breath. Thus, the operation is only done to people on their deathbeds, to fulfill what they wish they had done with their lives, but didn’t.
This particular story follows their attempt to fulfill the dream of an elderly man, Johnny.

With each step back in time, a new fragment of Johnny's past is revealed. As the two doctors piece together the puzzled events that spanned a life time, they seek to find out just why the frail old man chose his dying wish to be what it is.
And Johnny's last wish is, of course... to go to the moon.

Reviews
I cried.

O que falar sobre To The Moon...
GOOD GAME
As a story it's not bad. I think I definitely would've enjoyed this as an anime show or manga. But as a game? Yeeeaaaah it kind of bothers me that this is supposed to be a "game", because there is virtually no gameplay AT ALL. The most you do is walk around and click on random things to progress the story. And it's not even that you get extra bits of funny flavor text or dialogue or lore as a reward for exploring, no secret areas or achievements for doing something that's not part of the main story, you literally CAN'T interact with anything unless it progresses the game, there's very very few times where you get optional dialogue. So even that element of a point and click game isn't there, which leaves you with nothing but what is essentially just a by-the-numbers emotional slice of life story: old man is dying and has a dream he never fulfilled, he had a wife who was fridged, we see their life together and find out some tragic things about his past, all that kind of stuff. Again it wasn't BAD, just nothing that special, and it was really only the backwards storytelling that kept me engaged since I was curious to see where all this was going. The main issue is that, again, this did not have to be a game. There are no puzzles aside from a frankly very simple tiles puzzle that is repeated twenty times with no variation, no effort or skill required from the player, not even any rhyme or reason for what items you need to press on to advance to the next part so that you can use your deduction to make the search easier. Seriously, there were so many times I was stuck walking around an area trying to interact with anything I could see just to find the right thing. It was frustrating because there weren't any clues or hints to follow or anything like that, it was completely random what you could interact with. Not fun when you just want to see the next part of the story already! The positives I can give this "game", or rather visual novel, is that the main characters and dialogue were entertaining enough. I'll admit the banter between the two doctors got a chuckle out of me more than once, even though a lot of times I thought they were, to put it bluntly, pretty dickish in their comments about a literal dying man's life. The dying man himself was a very meh kind of character, and I don't think his much more interesting wife was given nearly as much focus as she deserved. The ending of the story kiiiind of left a bad taste in my mouth, but that was due to the main premise being about rewriting a person's memories of their entire life, which I'd known about going in. It still feels wrong even if the new memories ended up being happy, but hey you can't say the guy didn't give his permission. Anyway yeah, my consensus: just watch a playthrough on youtube, you'll get the exact same experience. Only thing you'll miss out on is playing one round of whack-a-mole.
