The Sapling is a short simulation game where you design your own plants and animals, and put them in a world together. Or you turn on random mutations, and see what evolution does to your ecosystem!

"It is made with great care, has a very stable update frequency, and I hope you can keep it up. This is the best evolution sandbox game I have played so far. However, I have the following requests: 1. I hope you can add a separate save slot for individual creatures, so that players can directly place their favorite creatures into different maps. 2. I hope you can increase the time acceleration speed to five档 (five levels / up to 5x speed). 3. I hope that when creatures evolve, most mutations are harmful (this is more realistic, at least according to textbooks). 4. I hope players can manually adjust the size of a creature's hands, feet, tail, and other limbs. 5. If you could add a multiplayer mode where players can create creatures together and place them to compete, that would greatly increase the fun of the game. 6. I hope you can add a mode that does not display the creature and map models, but only shows the data of each creature and the minimap. This would lower the hardware requirements, make it easier to understand the game's rules, and help new players get started. 7. Optimization! Optimization! Optimization! There are still quite a few bugs. For example, when viewing the family tree, the view always shifts to the upper left corner, so players can only see a few lines and it's very difficult to move to the desired position using the keyboard and mouse. 8. The autosave frequency needs to be increased, to prevent the program from crashing later when there are too many creatures on the screen. 9. Please make sure to release a mobile version. That will be a blue ocean market, and it will surely sell very well. 10. Please add more language translations for the game."

i tried the game and refunded it because i sucked at being natural selection but it was really good i reccomend it
this game is fun but its also extremely busted. i probably wouldnt recommend until the game gets more developed, fixed, and optimized
nothing survives. its impossible to make a stable animal population without reintroducing. especially predator populations. please dont get it
Constantly crashes, needs a UI rework, saves need a rework (please let me save planets this is my biggest gripe). Somehow still one of the better evolution sims out on the market, simulating and creating ecosystems and niches in a 3D environment where most of it's simulation peers are on the 2d level, with the instinct and hormone system being something I haven't seen any other sims utilize. Truthfully, I haven't seen any hormone producing creature appear naturally as I haven't left the sim running long enough; and really it gets to the point where higher mutation rate lowers the chance of it appearing naturally through genetic drift. My favorite anecdote from this game comes from a bird evolving to glow in the presence of food, helping to navigate the islands, with the island's plants then simulating this to further attract more birds. Some fish started to clue in, and evolved to glow to lure bird's in as prey. All I did was put a simple bird species on the isle, and a glowing archipelagic ecosystem grew; showing an emergent complexity that I love in any simulators. Anyway, give this game a try if you want to go run up your electric bill while doing some chores, it's neat to see what you come back to.
That's the most accurate depiction of evolution I have ever seen in a video game, it has an infinite potential and replayability !
Very fun to watch the creatures evolve overtime and the game has improved a lot since last I played it, though I think manual mutations should be readded to sandbox
имбааааааааааа
Just spend the extra 3 dollars on spore
very good, i can create creatures that suffer by existing.
