The Rise of the Golden Idol is a new type of detective game where you freely explore each crime scene at your own pace, using logic to build your own theories. Click to collect clues and analyze each discovery to determine what happened, why, and who was responsible.
Convicted prisoners, new age cult leaders, corporate middle management and many more figures have a role to play in the wider mystery that unfolds — each driven by their own agenda. Scour each scene for key details to put names to faces and deduce their motives.
A reworked interface lets you quickly gather key terms from observations and witness testimonies, greatly expanding the depth and variety of each scenario. Upon the conclusion of each chapter, a new type of puzzle lets you revisit past deductions, recap the events of these interconnected cases, and investigate the threads that unify them.

7/10 ... Get it on sale. Not the same enjoyment of the first, which is dissappointing because the world is so much more interesting in this one. I'm already addicted to this damn idol and it's journey. They did/do a really good job of keeping me hooked with the really cool world building, The story is good too, but the game itself is mehh +. The art style IS fantastic, but seems as if a lot was done with AI, and then someone forgot to double check everything. It's not the most cohesive experience. I will finish and still buy the DLC when that price drops. Hard to post screenshots to explain, but I've had to look some things up that I shouldn't have. The most frustrating is the inconsistencies of the scene images of characters not matching the "name board" or other media that they are also found in (silhouettes/shadows of the characters). To me, logic games shouldn't purposely throw you off by changing multiple character's appearance in the same scene just to "add mystique"
