Picking up shortly after The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, Estelle travels across Liberl in search of Joshua. The journey involves more than seeking loved ones, however, as the Bracer Guild also tasks her with unraveling the mysteries behind the newly unveiled Society of Ouroboros.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

While I am currently making my way through the entire franchise and am at present in Daybreak II, there is something I can confidently say about this title in particular: This is still the best game of the series so far. Horizon releases in January but I am confident that this will still hold true for some time. If you have played the original, OR if you have recently beaten the new Remake of First Chapter, you are likely already hooked on the story of this arc and are itching for more. This game will take everything that made that story special and pay it off in spades. The payoff of this title is worth every morsel of time you sink into it, every corner you dare check, every line of dialogue, etc. It will not be until Cold Steel IV or Reverie that the series has a payoff THAT satisfying, again. But that's a discussion for the other titles. Every title has been special, worth the time and money, and an absolute blast, but Sky SC is special even amongst the treasure trove this series has to offer. FC/SC are some of the best games ever made and deserve your time. So yes, get this game if you've played FC or the remake and you wish to continue the story. You will not be disappointed, and that's a promise.
So it's worth noting that if you're coming from Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, you may be better off just waiting for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter when it releases in the Fall. That said, as someone who played this version because I was desperate to continue the story after 1st Chapter's cliff hanger, this is one of my favorite JRPGs ever, and I think it exceeds the quality of its predecessor in nearly every respect. Similar to the first game, it does start off pretty slow paced and episodic in a way that I personally find enjoyable and cozy, but some may dislike. In the game's second half, however, it picks up like crazy and manages to fully live up to and even exceed the scope that I imagined as I started the first game and realized the potential of the Trails series' world. Without really getting into spoilers, this game continues the story of the first game in a pretty seamless way and I really got attached to the characters and this world as I made my way through it. I also think the gameplay has aged better than some will give it credit for. It's less fluid than the remakes, using a more strictly grid-based system for its battles and requiring you to take a turn to move your position, rather than the looser position-based system that gives you lots of chances to move around in 1st Chapter, but it really works nonetheless. At its best, the combat strikes this really tense and fun level of difficulty where you're trying to find just the right position and strategy for each of your party members so that they're close enough to heal each other, far enough that they can't easily be hit all at once, and have the capacity to dish out enough damage to wittle down at times very large and aggressive teams of enemies. I think the presentation is also pretty good. The old art style is certainly of its mid 2000s era, and even in that context it's got pretty low fidelity compared to some of the AAA stuff from that time, but it still has a lot of charm and just has at times genuinely interesting environments, characters, monsters, and effects. Unfortunately there are some tech issues involved on modern systems. I primarily play on a 4K monitor, but there's a bug that basically breaks the UI at 4K so I had to play at a lower resolution. I also noticed that the game is very clearly designed around 4:3 monitors and some effects don't work correctly in 16:9. It also has some weird frame drops on my PC into the 30s, which simply should not be happening with a game this old on any PC from the past 5 years, let alone one as powerful as mine. Fortunately, though it is marked as unsupported on the Steam Deck, I played most of this game on the Steam Deck and ran into no issues whatsoever. It actually ran at a perfectly locked 90fps on my Steam Deck OLED. I have to assume that maybe Proton is a better compatibility layer than whatever Windows 11 is using to get this Windows XP-era game running. If you do try to play this on the Steam Deck, note that I personally set proton to experimental for this game as a precaution, but I've heard that's not necessary. The main thing that was supposedly broken in the past is FMVs and I had no issues. This game also just has one of my favorite OSTs that I've heard in a while. There's a lot of MIDI, but it's mostly pretty well produced. Where the first game had a pretty good soundtrack, this one has some of my favorite JRPG battle themes of all time. I've been humming and whistling these even weeks after beating the game. It's really that good. I can't wait to hear how the remake recreates some of these tracks. Overall, I came out of this so satisfied that as I watched the credits roll all I could think is that what I just played is so good that I have no clue how the rest of the rest of the series will live up to it. If you liked the first game, I can't imagine a scenario where you won't love this one. I might only recommend against this game if you'd rather just wait for the remake to experience a version of the game that lives up to the same quality standard as 1st Chapter. Personally, I like this game so much that despite not having a clear reason to play it, 2nd Chapter will be a day one purchase for me unless they royally mess it up.
absolute cinema of a game like straight up peak. (I heavily recommend modding in the voice acting because it seriously elevates an already amazing game).
The Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky SC - это та самая игра, которую я искренне полюбил.
Recomendadisimo!
