About
Build and decorate your tavern, hire staff, stock your larder, meet the locals, be the boss and run the show! Whether you keep a cosy neighbourhood taphouse or a lean, mean gold-minting machine, the choices - and consequences - are yours.

Dozens of intertwined game systems create unpredictable emergent situations. Dirt, heat, noise, flammability, sickness and of course, a parade of colourful customers all keep the unexpected coming.

Today’s situation: Half of your staff are in bed with sleep-sickness. Orders are piling up and patrons’ tempers are getting heated. So is the tavern - because it’s on fire! A spark from a broken lantern landed on just the wrong patch of dirt with no one around to notice. Oops, perhaps it’s time to call the fire brigade...
An expansive narrative campaign lets you build taverns across a vibrant world full of your favourite fantasy cultures. Each new location brings fresh challenges and surprising stories. Meet immortal elementals, outwit halfling philosophers and aid a crazed orc inventor.

Experience a magical storybook fully-narrated by Steven Pacey. Encounter hundreds of bite-sized stories with a surprise at every turn. There’s always someone needing the guidance of a Tavern Keeper like you. What choices will you make?
Decorate every nook and hollow of your tavern to create everything from bustling taprooms to relaxing reading corners. Place and manipulate thousands of items anywhere with complete creative freedom and make the tavern of your dreams.

Go beyond decorating and become a master artisan by using Tavern Keeper’s powerful Design Mode to craft unique furnishings. Combine pieces, add magical effects, then share your creations with the Tavern Keeper community.

Play the single-player campaign your way with adjustable game mechanics and storyteller settings or play in Freeplay for a custom challenge. Pick Challenging and strategize over every decision, barely making it through each day, or play a Relaxed game running the tavern of your dreams without pressure. The choice is yours.

Great game to have drunk together with your in-game patrons!
I have not cackled so much while playing a game as I did playing this through what's currently available (Gugamush). I love a good resource management game, crafting, etc, but combining it with absolutely excellent storytelling and world-building takes it to the next level. The levels start out slower, easing you in. After finishing the second town, I was wishing for more...eventfulness? Interacting with the patrons, more stories. Well, a town full of orcs certainly delivered. I'm definitely going back for more to see what kind of twists the story might take. That was hilarious! Even the soundtrack in that town was funny. Looking forward to the full shebang.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

a treat of a game, it is more than a management game. There is so many layers of content once you get going, you can get immersed on one level and not even realize you can move to the next tavern. If you enjoyed other cozy story rich games, you will love this game.
Came to own a tavern, was sent to the moon. 10/10.
the best medieval shop/tavern sim out there
Tavern Keeper is a lot of fun and is sure to be one of the best examples of the genre! I am impressed with how complete the game feels despite being in Early Access, the game mechanics are already robust and fun. There's also a lot of items and objects to use. The 3 story levels are surprisingly fleshed out, and the voice acting is a special element not present in other games. The developer's previous game was good but Tavern Keeper takes game design to another level. The complex mechanics work really well, and the design tools offer tons of room for creativity.
I played through the entirety of what is available for this game in essentially one sitting and it was amazing. This game is like hanging out in a DND tavern, complete with kooky side quests and different races and silly sounding ales. It has such a good sense of humor, but there is so much choice in what you do both in customization of the physical bar and staff but there's also a lot of options for game difficulty, events, starting money, etc. You even get your own character sheet where you can decide what your strengths are like in real table-top RPGs. The only thing I'd say is that I'd like the sorting system for objects to be slightly better. Sometimes it's difficult to find things you've unlocked.
an incredibly cozy simulator
BRO, AWESOME
