Très bon jeu rogue-like, partez en mer avec votre capitaine, vivez des aventures terribles. Mourrez. Recommencez. L'univers du jeu nous plonge dans une ambiance steampunk, avec des conflits politique,s des cultistes, les mystères de l'océan et tout ce qu'il faut de Lovecraftien dans l'écriture. Si vous appréciez les univers sombres, emprunts de mystères et dont la compréhension ne se fait qu'en étudiant les textes plus qu'en les lisant, profitez ! J'ai adoré Nuncio, l'île où toutes les lettres sans destinataires finissent par s'échouer, Visage, l'île où tout le monde joue un rôle et porte un masque, Port Cecil, l'île où les plus grands tournois d'échecs ont lieu. enfin, un conseil pour augmenter votre survie "en mer", n'oubliez pas d'éteindre votre lampe quand vous naviguez près des cotes et dans les balises lumineuses, cela économise du carburant et augmente votre autonomie. Prenez garde à la Terreur aussi, qui est la vraie statistique qui vous tuera à terme. Vous savez que votre équipage ne gagnera pas trop de folie quand les diodes vertes ne s'allument pas sur les côtés de votre navire.

I feel in love with this game years ago, and I always find the story telling intricate and satisfying. The sound track I found so mesmerising I have it on a playlist. The game play I find well thought out and it seems every detail, whether a boon or a con, has been thought about. The overall package feels like a real passion project and keeps me coming back, like one of my favourite books, time and time again.

The lore and writing in Sunless Seas is brilliantly captivating, and the gameplay is a tense and unforgiving management of resources that adds weight to every venture into the inky black waters of the unterzee. Otherwise, it's basically a gameplay extention of Fallen London, slow and lots of reading, but rewards your decision-making and knowledge better than Fallen London does.
