2.5-3.5/5 Jedi Academy exists primarily as a vehicle for a fantasy that had no real competition in 2003 — being a Jedi. As a power fantasy delivery mechanism it occasionally succeeds, and the mission structure giving you some degree of choice in progression is appreciated. Everything else ranges from mediocre to broken. The lightsaber combat is the game's centerpiece and its greatest failure. One-shots fly in both directions with no readable logic distinguishing them from exchanges that somehow take minutes to resolve. Hit detection, blade contact points, and animation state damage multipliers operate entirely beneath the surface with zero legible feedback. In practice it is indistinguishable from randomness. KOTOR's semi-turn-based system, routinely dismissed as dated, communicates more mechanical information in a single exchange than Jedi Academy's real-time combat ever manages. Force powers, your secondary toolkit, become largely useless against lightsaber-wielding opponents — which constitute the majority of late-game content. The game's solution is to throw dozens of enemies simultaneously in the final levels, substituting quantity for design. The Steam release compounds these problems with persistent bugs. Academy cutscenes hang or require skipping entirely, stripping out the game's own narrative content. A softlock on the second level's opening door requires either a menu reload or full desktop restart to clear. You are frequently playing around the game rather than playing it. Nostalgia is working overtime here. Strip the IP and what remains is an inconsistent action game buried under technical failures, coasting entirely on Star Wars goodwill.

Juegazo que te hace sentir en la piel de un Jedi a full una jugabilidad muy paspada que muchas veces te va a hacer odiar el juego, pero cuando le agarras la mano te envicias, tiene algunos niveles que son geniales y otros que son un embole, hay variedad lo mejor es que gracias a steam imput se puede jugar con joystick tranquilamente, recomiendo la configuración "radicalender's Bindings" tiene la configuración estandar con los botones basicos bien configurados y mover la camara con el stick derecho, ya para acciones mas especificas podes configurar cada boton a tu gusto muy recomendado siempre con cabeza de que estas jugando un juego viejo y las fisicas y muchas cosas a veces fallan, claro predecesor del Star Wars Jedi fallen orden y Jedi survivor PD: vas a perder muchas veces y vas a terminar odiando el grito de tu personaje cuando muere

Base game is good and worth playing. If your getting this solely for MovieBattles2 don't, The mod is borderline dead and destroyed more and more each update.
