Waste of money abandonware. I wished it was better as we need more Star Trek games. Such wasted potential
Basically a total conversion mod for stellaris. Unfinished. No updates for more than a year.
I would recommend it even though I found out it is now an Abandoned game. Such a shame as it only came out in 2023 & was abandoned in same year. Apparently dev lay offs. Such a shame as there was a lot of updating it needed to be a top notch & would probably rival the old Birth of the Federation game. e.g. there are a lot of bugs that will now never be fixed. Now that it is an abandoned game. sigh. Luckily there are some mods that fix some of the none bug issues. Like there being no Voyager when Janeway returns back to Alpha quadrant for her mission line against the borg. Well there is a mod that adds that ship as well as Sisko's Defiant. Which also was annoying cause Sisko is a recruitable leader later on in the game & no actual Defiant. Even though there is Defiant classes in game. Which made no sense. Which is like WTF. Other things missing that some have made mods to add too. Like in Sol when you start the game there is no Luna or Mars Colony in system & you can't terraform the Luna or Mars. But a mod adds both as already colonized. Yay. There is also no Colonized Risa & no Risian's in game. Same issue for the poor Denobulan's too. But there is a mod to sort these 2 famous planets & species & to & add them to the game through a mod. Again yay Modders Love them. Also there only like a few types of ships in game. Science ships, Miranda's, Excelsior's, Defiant's, Galalaxy's & sovereign Class ships are in game. But the way the tech tree is to unlock them before the major game events or even after you completed the major game events is so ridiculous that again you need to use a console cheat to get them so you can actually use them. The Games research system is so so badly thought out it is unbelievable. But yer ships the Game didn't have are: New Orleans, Constellation, Ambassador, Akira or oberth class starship's But again there are a few mods that add these in. So yay. (WOULD BE NICE THOUGH. IF 1 OF THE MODDERS THAT ADDED THESE OTHER SHIPS I. WOULD MAKE 1 FOR THE NEBULA & STEAMRUNNER CLASSES. THEY WERE 2 IMPORTANT & WELL SEEN CLASSES IN STAR TREK. BOTH ONSCREEN & OFF. THAT THIS GAME CURRENTLY DOESN'T HAVE AT ALL EVEN WITH MODS.) So yer game was so half finished & half baked for it's release & then got abandoned too. it is a bit of a WTF moment for a potentially awesome game. SIGHS. But yer I would still recommend this game. I wouldn't recommend Buying it at full price of £26.99 for standard or £34.99 for Deluxe edition's. NO don't buy at these prices. As it feels half finished & also like said is an abandoned game(no more updates ever). But like now on steam there is a 75% off sale on it. So it is at like around £6.74 for normal & £8.74 for the deluxe edition, So right now or in future with a similar sale. This game is worth buying then. As the game has nostalgia of Birth of the Federation game but alot updated but missing alot of stuff like them said ships above. But still recommend buying when game is on something like a 70% discount sale or something similar

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've tried to like this game. I really have. Even modded, it just sucks. I got it on sale. I still feel ripped off.
Abandoned cash grab clone of an outdated-at-the-time version of Stellaris. Absolute shame.
Abandonware :(
This is a very late review but I gave up pretty quickly. I was spammed with so much information that I couldn't follow what was going on; the game does a terrible job at easing you into it. And as others have said it's since been abandoned.
When I bought this game I understood it was mostly a Stellaris reskin, but honestly that was fine for me. For Trek gamers we haven't had a good ST themed strategy game in a long time and even the really good Star Trek New Horizons mod for Stellaris can get so clunky & slow. There was opportunity for a dedicated strategy game and with a preexisting template you'd think it'd make this a streamlined game. Unfortunately, what we got instead was the cosmetic changes without much improvement and even some added glitches & quirks that make the gameplay tedious after awhile. The flavor text of the factions may suggest a unique playstyle for them, but in truth the mechanics force you to play similar strategies. There's not that many techs or missions or cultural ideas like there are in Stellaris and even compared to older titles like Birth of the Federation there is alot of missing potential. I wouldn't recommend it for those reasons, but also because the developer got cut apart by staff layoffs so this game is effectively abandoned. No new updates have came out since late 2023 and doesn't seem like that'll change anytime soon. It blows because they did well with the 2016 Master of Orion game If you are a Star Trek fan, you're better off getting Stellaris and then getting the STNH mod because that's closest we're getting for the foreseeable future.
Fun: The game captures the essence of Star Trek with its strategic depth and iconic factions, but falls short of fully delivering the experience fans expect. Holding You to the Game: While the overall style and feel are enjoyable, the game lacks the polish and complexity of older strategy titles. It’s fun for a while, but the limited scope leaves you wanting more. Many Enemies to See: The factions and enemies are true to Star Trek lore, but the lack of variety and challenge over time diminishes the excitement of encounters. Nice Scenario: The visuals and Star Trek theme are fantastic, offering an immersive experience for fans. However, the world feels too small and doesn’t live up to the potential of the franchise’s vast universe. Extra Depth: The game has great potential, but it desperately needs updates and fixes to expand the gameplay and address the current limitations. With improvements, it could become the strategy game Star Trek fans have been waiting for.
