Deeply disappointing, was looking for a successor to Birth of the Federation, instead we got this unintuitive mess.
This game is abandonware. Don't buy it. If you already have Stellaris, then just mod it into something this game could never be: Complete.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I want my money back!
id recommend getting the star trek new civilization mod for stellaris its much better than this game
dead game! abandoned by devs! It is a cash grab and Paradox should be pissed about publishing a game like this! goes to show people only care about fast money and zero substance.
It's worth playing the game for the opportunity to orbitally bombard Bajor to 100% devastation.
Devs just abandoned this one
I can see that at some point in development someone cared a lot about this game. There's a bunch of neat ideas in there, but as a product it's an unfinished mess that doesn't quite work and got all dolled up for a release. Not a good game to pick up, even for diehard Star Trek fans thirsty for a grand strategy Star Trek game.
At first glance, the game is amazing. Exploring as federation has all sorts of anomalies and missions that pop up which are basically pulled straight from the show. I literally spent most of my one and only game doing just that (yes, that 14 hours on record was just one game). There are is even a mission tree to do...and this is what lead to my downfall and how I came to give this game a negative review...because it required war, and that's just broken. One of the fed missions requires you to liberate Bajor from the Cardassians, and this required me going to war...and that's where the problems began. First and foremost: The way the game handles war is bugged. It's supposed to apply an attrition to your score whenever you lose a battle or territory and the first side to 100% loses...except the game doesn't apply that to the computer. I literally lost 2 wars against Cardassia while I occupied their homeworld and every planet between that and my untouched territory. I looked online and this is a VERY common problem. Another problem related to war I ran into because of Bajor is that the Federation can't simply claim territory unless the other side starts the war, and if you miss the early game opportunity to try and diplomacy that...then you have to get cardassia to start a war with you so you can claim the territory....of course I was unable to win wars due to bugs.... There are other problems. Research projects are random but certain missions require certain research, the automatic mode for colony development does not work at all, anomalies eventually run out(which stopped me from ever getting the sovereign or defiant because you need the enterprise to get an anomaly, but I had apparently exhausted the pool), I defeated the Borg by literally failing to complete a mission because they just stopped showing up when I missed that story beat. Oh, and it sucks watching people from the show die of old age. There are some bones here to what could have been a very good game, but this should be a hard pass unless you are completely dedicated to diplomatic only victories where you remain friends with everyone since war is simply not an option. Oh, and if you are an STO player too, I was unable to claim that Miranda skin they had advertised...
It's dead Jim. Cash grab... Paradox should feel ashamed.
