A Profound Disappointment: Completely Hollow RTS Strategy
Verdict: Not Recommended ("Meh" is being generous) Silica is a massive letdown. While the concept of an RTS/FPS hybrid is excellent, the strategic layer of this game is completely hollow, broken, and incredibly frustrating. It is nowhere near a finished product.
Critical RTS Flaws:

Brainless Resource Management: There is virtually no economic strategy. The entire game relies on just a single resource. This completely removes any real depth, macro-management, or economic tension from the gameplay loop.
Brain-Dead Unit Pathing: Friendly unit navigation is a disaster. Your harvesters and combat units spend most of their time getting stuck on the terrain, forcing you to constantly babysit basic movements instead of focusing on actual strategy.
Cheating Enemy AI: The AI doesn't win through superior tactics. It relies on an outdated awareness hack to instantly track your location through walls, combined with blatant speedbuilding advantages.
Rigid and Predictable Building: Upgrades are mindlessly straightforward and linear. Furthermore, buildings have massive footprints that are a nightmare to place on the terrain. You are forced to build your base perfectly identically every single match just to make structures fit.

No Strategic Variety
Because you must use the exact same layout every game, the maps and enemy behaviors become instantly predictable. There is zero room for unique buildpaths, creative tactics, or distinct playstyles to make your strategy unique. With no single-player campaign to back it up, you are left with shallow multiplayer and sandbox modes that become a boring chore almost immediately. What could have been a great game is just a repetitive mess. Save your money until this is actually finished.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Game is confusing as ♥♥♥♥. Laggy as ♥♥♥♥. Almost no tutorial. Game focuses more on FPS than RTS
Not good enough.

Game good, reccomend, would love if there was a way to level terrain with the harvesters though (just and idea) overalll highly reccomend, prefromace is way better than it was, AI is better but not the best, still feels like you have to do alot of micromanaging but the more players you have the better it becomes.
fun but game is dead
Aktuell 7,5/10
While this game is still unfinished, the devs are showing true commitment to making it a game that deserves buying it at full price, recently publishing updates that make the human factions more interesting and greatly improving the movement AI in command mode. Looking forward to upcoming improvements! Until then, I'm still gonna be playing this unpolished, unique gem
with some work could be truly amazing
One of the best games I have ever played! Amazing for what it is today and cant get enough, this game needs millions in support and funding. I can not fathom how amazing it already is as an early access and just how awesome it will be as the developer, yes one, keeps putting more into it!
