I love these games.
If you like Evil Dead or anything Ash Williams and like castlevania, mario, sonic, and super metroid this is the game for you. It is quite simple and fun, but still will give you 6-8 hours of fun for a full story play-through. Don't be shy, if you like platformers that take some skill and repeat plays to master timing you will love it. Awesome level of gore and move sets.

The game has a higher price, i'm thinking due to a smaller developer dealing with licenses. I myself haven't got the Halloween package yet. I will say this though; as a HUGE fan of Evil Dead, and the TV show as well, genuinely impressed by the story references, the pixel art in the background in the levels, and the action itself. This is a solid platformer that I really do love. The steam achievements are nice to display too, for someone who is into that kind of thing & artstyle. It's just nice to have a solid Evil Dead licensed game, as the main one fell off. Thank you to the developers. Enjoyed this experience
This is a Good treat for Slasher movie fans who like playing platformers
I wanted to love this horror game combo, but it doesn't run well. This whole game setup is expensive as hell, but I still bought it. For a moment I was happy with my purchase because the two 2D games were really fun, the music and effects were awesome. Then I started to notice the game stuttered and slowed when moving while the audio crackled, this was inside the 2D game and walking around in the arcade. I adjusted the audio setting bar to lowest setting and the stuttering was gone, it's the audio doing the stuttering. I tried to fix it by updating audio drivers, and made sure there was no extra effects. No, it's the game that is the problem. I would turn this into positive review if the devs released patches to fix the issue, but the price tag and performance are not worth your time.
I’ve had a year to sit on the game and still fondly remember my time with it. I was really hoping more would be added as time went on. The execution here is done right in so many ways, from the start I love the presentation of these games being in an abandoned arcade that doubles as a museum for the collectibles you unlock for both licenses. Having cross play of the four available characters across both games is something I feel most licensed games like this wouldn’t implement and adds a lot of replay value. Even with the asking price being a little too high on its initial release and the difficulty being a bit too much for filthy casuals, (though in the grand scheme it’s not that hard) I’d still recommend it. Probably going to do another run here of both games myself soon. Here’s hoping one day it gets expanded upon with more franchises because this is the perfect set up for it as far as I’m concerned.
A rich roster of interchangeable iconic horror anti-heroes, heroines, & side-kicks become available to you, in a straightforward series of side-scrolling adventures set in pixel-art worlds licensed from your favorite franchises! Your playtime is rewarded with currency, which is used to purchase trophies inside an interactive 'Retro Arcade', where you dwell for the remainder of your stay with the title. Not a bad time -- and you get to beat ass as Ashley J. Williams! GROOVY! ...Too bad I suck at this genre of game.
I was drawn in by the Halloween and Ash vs. Evil Dead connection, and then I enjoyed the content! I like the difficult trial and error platformer, it has a high replayability for me cause I had to try all the levels with all the characters. I enjoyed this game, but I do think this kind of game isn't for everyone. But if it sounds interesting to you, you will probably like it.
