Before the mansion, before the destruction of Raccoon City, there was Resident Evil 0. Now remastered with improved visuals and sounds, as well as the all-new Wesker Mode, there's never been a better time to experience the origins of the Resident Evil story.

Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

I got this graphical error in the first level where subtle red lines were tinted at odd angles across the screen. Looked like blood so I thought it was part of the art style. That's how engrossing the atmosphere is in this game. Negative for me was that the coolest part of the game (the train) is the first level and none of the other areas seemed to reach that height. Its my least liked Resident Evil game so far, but its still a solid title. The two-character system was quite ambitious for its time. If you liked REmake and want more, then this is your game.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 13: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I'm so mixed on this game, but it's good enough for me to give it a positive review. Expect a lot of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, really annoying backtracking, and an incredible inventory management system. (There is no item box.)
Rating: 8.7/10 Resident Evil 0 is a classic survival horror game that serves as a prequel to the original Resident Evil, following Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen as they uncover the dark secrets behind the events leading up to the series' outbreak. The game combines exploration, puzzle-solving, resource management, and tense combat while introducing a unique partner system that allows players to switch between two characters with different abilities. Set in a mysterious abandoned train and later a series of unsettling locations, the game delivers a traditional survival horror experience with its own identity. The game's strongest aspects are its atmosphere, detailed environments, and challenging survival mechanics. The abandoned train setting creates a memorable opening, while the dark locations, impressive creature designs, and excellent sound design maintain a constant feeling of danger. The ability to control both characters adds strategic depth, requiring players to carefully decide where to position each character and how to manage limited resources. The story also provides interesting background information about the origins of the series' infamous experiments and organizations. Although the removal of item boxes can make inventory management frustrating and some puzzles or backtracking sections feel unnecessarily complicated, Resident Evil 0 remains a strong entry in the franchise. Its classic horror atmosphere, challenging gameplay, and unique character system make it a rewarding experience for fans of old-school survival horror and players who enjoy slower, more methodical adventures.

General review after beating the campaign: After sitting with this game a few months from beating it, I can say that the quality doesn't lack on the sequel/prequel. Although i would say this game is very complimentary to the original remake (same vibe, controls, remake vision etc.) so i guess it's a solid stand alone game but when you think about the original, it does feel (not is) like a 1.5 in the best way possible. The game does add more context to a couple of ppl you meet in the first one as well as flesh out more of the lore that you were left craving at the end of one. So basically, play the first one and have this game scratch that RE itch until you get to the later (more polished) sequel. The controls felt just in line with the first one and comfortable to me using the modern tank controls that you can pick in the settings (i believe). Story was not as memorable as the first one but there is something so classic about that first game, its kind of a hard bar to beat. Still, had a great time playing it and running it as performance was smooth and i had not encountered any weird bugs even with my mods. Speaking of, I believe the only mod i ever used came from PCGamingWiki (i don't know how much i have to shout them out for putting me on the useful knowledge for so many QOL patches/mods on so many games), i used Mulderland's Enhancement Pack which also contains the Fusion Fix for RE0. I had definitely used the Fusion FIx mod alone for RE1 which i felt was essential so to see it be implemented in this game and with more tweaks and options with Mulderland's just goes to show how much love this game really has. Love to see it and use it's FOV function, widescreen support, higher res textures, save chests (which the game originally doesnt have but i used it anyway) and lots of other cool useful tweaks i greatly appreciate. You can tell the game is kind of a product of it's time and holds up very well just like its sibling. Honestly, didn't get a hard craving to 100% this game but few games give me that call to do so. Played on the easiest setting to enjoy the story a lot more and the hours you get are very reasonable and doesn'y overstay it's welcome. Getting these first two games on sale is a no brainer if you're looking for a nice solid smart zombie thriller mystery zombo game. Giving this a 4/5 T Viruses.
