Prodeus is a first-person shooter of old, re-imagined using modern rendering techniques and technology. Experience the quality you’d expect from a modern AAA game, designed with retro aesthetics and gameplay that invoke the tech-imposed limits of older hardware.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Coop Review: The game will respawn you infinitely at your last checkpoint making it impossible to lose and I expected this feature would cheapen the experience. Fortunately, the developers made an excellent game with interesting level design, weapons and progression structure. The unique unlockables are a cool addition enticing players to explore and find secrets. It's clear the devs were confident in their ability to make a fun retro-inspired FPS.
One of the best retro shooters available right now, reminds a lot about Doom and Quake. Tons of secrets, collectibles, and surprisingly hard even on medium difficulties (or maybe I am too old for this shirt). On par with Dusk, definitely a must play if you like classic shooters.

excellent doom clone. stages are easy to find your way, no hard boss fights and runs great on steamdeck
Prodeus is the video game equivalent of drinking three cans of Monster energy and headbanging to a heavy metal cassette tape from 1993. It is a love letter to the classic "boomer shooters" of the DOOM and Quake era, but built with a modern engine that makes everything feel incredibly smooth. The developers clearly asked themselves, "How much blood is too much?" and then completely ignored the answer.
The Aesthetics are God-Tier:
The game uses this genius visual style that blends modern, dynamic 3D lighting with chunky, retro 2D pixel-art enemies. It creates this gritty, CRT-monitor vibe that just looks incredibly cool and the gore system? It’s completely over-the-top. Painting the walls, floors and ceiling red isn't just a metaphor here, it’s practically a game mechanic.
The Combat:
This game understands that a retro shooter is only as good as its shotgun and the weapons in Prodeus feel wonderfully heavy and punchy. You aren't managing stamina or worrying about stealth, you are sprinting at 60 miles per hour, dual-wielding SMGs and turning chaotic alien demons into a fine red mist while an absolute banger of an industrial metal soundtrack blasts in your ears.
The Catch:
If you're looking for a deep, engaging story, you're in the wrong place. The plot is basically just an excuse to point you toward the next room full of monsters. Also, the campaign can start to feel a little repetitive if you play it for too many hours in one sitting, as the "find the colored keycard" formula doesn't change much from start to finish. But honestly, the built-in community map browser gives you endless levels to play once the main campaign is done, which makes up for a lot of its shortcomings.
Epic!!!!!!!!! better then Doom!
So, all that is said in reviews is true. Very fun animations and sounds, extremely good combat and very satsfying weapons But Nexus points (just saves) are made to spawn you fully healed and supplied with all kinds of ammo. There is no reason to be agile or swift, the game does not provide any difficulty Also lvl-design is weird, just like in Doom2016 and old dooms combined in some worse way Enemies are easily forgettable, just basic imps, soldiers cacodemons etc. Absolutely nothing memorable I thought of trying to mod this, but as devs abandoned it, there is no reason to buy it even on sale Just get Brutal doom and enjoy your life
Bro reskinned Doom 2 and called it a day. You also get a similar royalty-free-sounding soundtrack as in The Ancient Gods, except that in Prodeus, the boring 0000 chugging riffs also kick in when absolutely nothing is going on. Because nothing exciting ever happens. The level design and some of the game mechanics felt so half-baked in the first 5 or 6 levels that they actually had me double-check if this game is still early access. Maybe it gets better later on, but then the pacing is awful and does nothing to get me hooked. Make sure to play on the hardest difficulty setting because everything below is a joke. And if you're going for completion, have fun playing half of the game at least twice because some secrets are locked behind late-game abilities such as the double jump and the dash. I actually continued playing after writing this review and I've almost finished it. Playing Prodeus is more like being in a trance than being engaged because even in the late game, it hardly ever does anything surprising. You saw the first level, you've seen 90% of the game. The gameplay loop doesn't evolve despite 5 new weapons, double jumps and dashes.
2022: game comes out. There's no saving/loading, if you die you just respawn with full HP and no punishment (killed enemies stay dead). 2023: game promises the save/load feature. It's now the middle of 2025 and it's nowhere to be seen. Muh retro aesthetics.
I played this when it first came out, and enjoyed the time I spent playing it. I got involved in the community through map creation and that is where I had the unfortunate meeting with one of the 2 devs working on this game. To say they are arrogant is an understatement, one proceeding to bolster about working as a level designer for Black ops, and calling the other a golden goose. 3 years and the DLC has had no significant updates or information about it's potential release date, the game's level design is unoriginal and boring, featuring no creative usage of the engine built for the game. All the fun levels were made by the community, and even those dried up when the gameplay is just a copy of doom. Don't support these people who took the communities money and didn't appropriately expand to meet development demands, or make a real effort at forming a proper game development studio. They just want your money and couldn't care less about public image.
